  Microsoft has a site where you can download the ISO of Win8.1 images - but it cannot be used for OEM versions - which is what you have.

  Any PC tech with an ounce of intelligence knows that an OEM machine comes preinstalled with an OEM version. So I should be surprised by the huge incompetence of the shop where they "fixed" your PC - but I'm not!  Seems these days, anyone who can be synonymous with PC can open a repair shop - and incalculable damage as a result.

  You have to contact HP for recovery media.  (Very likely), you will have to pay for it, and it is usually about $30 USD - but yours could be different.

  You then starts from (it's probably a DVD or several CDs) and will be reformatted your hard drive, and the operating system reinstalled from scratch with all HP programs and utilities.  Then, you should see what you can do on the registration files and valuable data before you for the restoration.

  Looks like the Bookmarks Toolbar - view your Web Favorites at the top of the Firefox window is just hidden. There is an easy solution. Just right-click in the space next to a label. On the shortcut menu that appears, enable the bookmarks toolbar.

  Sincerely appreciate the info/advice.  I ran sfc/scannow and cropped the results to include only the unable to complete sections.  OK portions have been eliminated for practical reasons.  PC is a Vista PC with SP2 and all updates.  The antivirus program is run several times a week and has identified no virus/spyware/malware.  No other real problems with PC.

  A few notes:

  (1) we will NEVER buy another PC with a trace of all 'games' that is, waste of space and time and a value.  Looking at the impossible to correct entries, they seem to be exclusively associated with functions of game without value.

• I deleted every night of Mozilla and it deleted my all of myFirefox bookmarks. CAN/how can I recover them?

  I also never created a backup for my favorites =)

  If you selected the option to uninstall for ' delete my data personal nightly and customizations ", you deleted all your Firefox data. There is no real difference between Firefox versions and pre-release - Beta, Aurora builds and every night. This "option" will remove the entire Firefox profile folderset in App Data. It is not a discrimination between the different versions of Firefox, a user may have installed. In addition, unless you have created a new profile for use specifically with the Nightly version, every night would use the same profile that you used with Firefox (final version).

  Sorry for your loss of data. I used this 'option' when I was testing the beta of Firefox 3.0, when this option was introduced. I had a similar loss of all my data from Firefox, but for me it was 6 profiles for different versions of Firefox, I ran right here.

  I filed a bug report on "destructive" how this option was, but all that's happened is that the 'warning' was written a little more strongly.

  I have a damaged Windows XP OS and I have hundreds of bookmarks, I have never backed up. In IE, this is a single file copy, but I can't find something like this for FireFox. I have a new PC, I built and use the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional now and have the old HARD drive to recover my data from. I have everything I need, except for the hundreds of bookmarks that I ordered in FireFox in recent years. Please help me to recover this data.
