  Unfortunately Microsoft forbids us to give instructions on how to work around/hack admin password. There are ways, but we are not allowed to disclose. As this is an old PC, maybe the best thing for you to do is re - install windows on this computer.

  On the reset disk, you will need to create one of these yourself by opening the control panel and clcikcing on user account icon. In user accounts, look to the left of the window and you will see a list of tasks. The first is create a reset disk.

  I would appreciate if you please perform following steps to solve your problem.

  REMOVE PASSWORD WINDOWS (WINDOWS 2000, NT, XP, 2003 server): -.

  1. Insert your Windows operating system CD into your CD-ROM drive and start your computer. Make sure that the drive you have selected is the bootable

  drive.

  2. usually your computer will indicate on-screen that it will now boot from the CD or that you have to press a specific key to boot from the CD.

  Select the key to boot from the CD.

  3. now that the computer starts from the CD, you will see a first set up the screen that tells the computer to load files

  However, if you average recycling, donate to an organization or a charity.  so I suggest do a factory restore on it and the process will erase the disk and restore all the origianl software he had at the time where it was sold.

  Sorry, but Microsoft prohibited information provided in these Forums for anyone who has problems with a lost or forgotten password.

  I suggest that you reinstall the operating system.

  If you don't have a recovery disk, contact Acer support and they may be able to provide a disk.

  Also check to see if when you upgraded from XP to vista, if you wiped the 'hidden' Acer recovery Partition to back to how it was when new.

  Do you it by pressing Alt + F10 at startup and follow the instructions to reinstall XP
