  I am trying to download the so-called 'Free Upgrade' to install OS X El Capitan in my MacBook Air and Apple has been making me stop for 3 hours! What is happening with this? Why do I still need to enter payment details for what is advertised as free, anyway? I try to create a new Apple ID, select 'None' in the payment option and again once I am cordially invited to go jump off a cliff, I'm sorry, I meant I thought to contact www.apple.com/support. Very disrespectful? Is that how the client valuable time worth of Apple? They bait us with a 'free Upgrade', and then push us down a rabbit hole in order to get their hands on their magnanimous awarded free gift? It's really infuriating! I saw the number of threads with people, raising the same issue, but Apple doesn't give a flying fudge because they have done nothing to fix it. All the other options that the community suggests that I might try another ones already listed in my post?

  You do not have to be signed in one identifier apple to download 10.11. But if you try to create a new apple ID check that your signature in the right region. For example, it is the American site. If you try to use your info from the United Kingdom that could be the cause of your problem.

  If you allowed them access to your PC, then it is a problem. I considered reinstalling my OS and change all my passwords. It would also make sense, if you use the online banking etc., to inform your bank that you have a security hole on your PC. This will alert them to anyone using your current password to the Bank etc.

  1. Login to Adobe.com, using your Adobe ID and password.
  2. Click on manage an account in your name on the left side of the window.
  3. Search for your subscription and click on manage.
  4. At the bottom of the window, click on Edit payment details.

  Oh my God I gave my credit card to someone information I thought Microsoft. I thought that only the people at Microsoft know how many errors have been throwing on my PC so that they must be real. They said it was a Trojan horse in it and was bad. I knew he was infected so I gave my information to Teamviewer to put in this program to clean my computer and fix any problems that I receive. What should I do now that someone has that number and it's not Microsoft. Is it a real program or a scam just to get my information. Is my credit card at risk. and how they have information about my reports to Microsoft.

  • Call your credit card company immediately.  Cancel it.  Let them know what's happening (you won't be probably the first caller with this story.)
  • Change all of your passwords for each account.
  • According to what they did to your computer/etc - it may be best to disconnect the internet/network and to restore it to factory settings.

  Next time know that Microsoft won't be called * you * to solve a problem on your computer without having initiated you it somehow and you expect the call.  Also - they probably use MICROSOFT products to get on your computer - no third party tools. * smile *.

  Oh - and it is unlikely that they have no real information about you / your mistakes.  Social engineering.

  Unfortunately there is no option to change credit card, paypal or vice versa.

  If you want to change your payment information, you will need to cancel the subscription and buy a new subscription with a different payment option.
