  I have a user who gets a black screen when you connect to their virtual desktop (linked clone).  I tried to delete the profile and the regeneration it with no luck.  It seems that I'm in the office and I can send Ctrl + Alt + Delete to start the Task Manager, but it's just a black screen.  I tried to change the RDP protocols, but the results are the same.  Any suggestions?

  Thanks for your answer "vcpguy".  The solution was to delete the profile and recompose the link clones (specialized basin).  I'm just assuming recomposing would have solved the problem since that removes the profile completely unlike a refresh settings of I tried first.

• I get a black screen when I play videos in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

  Until recently, all worked well for a long time. Now when you try to watch live TV or a DVD, I get a black screen with sound in Windows Media Center and trying to watch a DVD in Windows Media Player I also get a black screen with sound. The controls are there and functioning normally. DVDs are normally visible in the K-Lite Media Player Classic.

  I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, a tuner TV of SiliconDust HD Homerun networked and a videocard ATI Radeon 4550. I have all the latest updates.

  I found and tried many recommendations of the Internet for problems like this, and none helped.

  The video card driver is the latest provided by ATI to Microsoft for Windows Update and is dated from 19/04/2011. I tried to install the latest Catalyst software and driver from the ATI site, which does nothing to help, and then uninstalled. These drivers provide no option to adjust the hardware acceleration.

  I had an older version of K-Lite codec package installed. The problem does not change if I have the old version, the last 32 + 64 bit version or no version installed.

  In Control Panel, I tried to disable Windows 7 media, reset their reactivation components and reboot again. There is nothing.

  I had an older version of installed package from Cyberlink. The problem remains the same if I have the old version, the version the most recent or any installed.

  I tried to uninstall all Apple software: QuickTime, iTunes, etc. There is nothing to help.

  I tried to create a new user account; same problem there.

  I have VMware and a virtual machine that is running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. In this machine, I can view DVD normally with Windows Media Player, using the same physical DVD drive. I don't have Media Center set up in this machine.

  The problem is now resolved. I removed the software installed probably because the problem started, and Cisco Webex, which I did not need, was probably the culprit, although I'm not 100% sure.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• I get a black screen when connecting to my TV

  PC to TV resolution problem?

  I bought a pc specifically if I could play the star wars: the old Republic game on my TV. I have connected the pc to the tv using a vga to hdmi. As a first step, that it worked fine. Then tried to play the game and the screen went black. I tried to change the resolution on the pc and now the pc when run in normal mode will only show a black screen after startup. It will run in safe mode with screen works fine. I tried different resolution setting and none seem not to work. I tried to look online for answers and saw someone suggested an app called powerstrip, so I managed to download that but can't run it in safe mode to see if it will be useful. How can I fix this so I can use the pc and play the game without a black screen?

  I don't see anywhere to change the rate of resolution or refresh in the menu tv. When I go the part 'photo' of the menu it shows that

  You wouldn't change it on the TV.  ;-)  You must set your output video is that the TV can display.

  I suggest first - go VGA VGA if possible.  Go by what you presented (with some hypothesis, I am about to say), you have a few VGA HDMI adapter... So you get out of your VGA computer and go to your HDMI TV?  Given that the TV has VGA - VGA to go.  If your computer has HDMI - you might as well go HDMI to HDMI, but best results will probably come out VGA to VGA input.

  

  Inexpensive and probably work best for what you need.

  Looking around, this computer can do the following computer resolutions:

  • 1280 x 1024 (SXGA)
  • 640 x 480 (VGA)
  • 800 x 600 (SVGA)

  Another thing - it probably will result in what you see.

  No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
  are a few others.

  You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
  Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
  Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

  How can I solve this problem and have my admin and my user appear in the directory?  My hard drive went out on me on my other computer, so I tried to slaves in the top of the tower.  All other folders appear in my directory, but not users.  There are default user on this subject.  Can I use a data recovery software, but it will take a day and a half to get the files.  I ran the program of restoration of data for a few hours and it has recovered some of the pictures I want.  So I try to see if I'm doing something wrong, before investing in the recovery of the entire file.  Thank you.

  (2) press on instead of - you should see "Start menu", where you must select "Drive of CD-ROM.

  If does not work (this means no "Boot menu" only appeared), then you need to change "Boot Device Priority" - go into the SETUP (   course of priming of the desktop), use the right arrow to select 'Boot' (upper image) - use the down arrow to select "Boot Device Priority" and press enter - you should see something as shown in the photo at the bottom.

  Now choose "Drive of CD-ROM" (arrow down) and by using the key + or - move the first CD-ROM drive. Press on (save & exit).

  Get dipslay black screen when I tried to install the latest ATI Catalyst Center (ATI CCC) in my laptop. After restarting my laptop too, I get the same screen for balck disply.

  Click with the right button on amd drivers and click on update driver. After "Browse my computer for driver software" => 'Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer'-online 'have disk... '. "and stick to the location of W76A_INF.

  And have you tested uninstall intel hd graphics card before you install amd?

  Well, I really prefer to install drivers leshcatlabs instead, they are more up-to-date drivers.

  You can try Firefox in Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. I think that it is an extension.

  • Run firefox.exe - safe-mode in the search bar in the Start Menu. (Make sure Firefox is closed)

  I have a Live Microsoft cam and on most of the sites when I allowed broadcasting I get a black screen only. However on one site, there are 2 options in the drop-down list box Cam. Live Cam 5000 or something like "713xBDA Analog capture", which is the automatic choice. If I change Cam Live I can move, but most of the sites don't give me an option to change the cam.
