I get a screen HP Recovery Manager asking me to allow a restart of the system, can I afford?
I am your customer of the India. I bought the HP Notebook PC Pavilion in 2011.There g6 is a big problem with my laptop. I will describe the problem I encountered today.
I turned on the laptop. This message appeared "your computer cannot start windows. There is a problem. This may be due to the new software installed or hardware", then another window appears in the 2 options appeared: Startup Repair and departure.
A statement was shown saying "If the power went off you can click on start up, if there is a problem you click Start repair." Since there was a problem already, I chose to click on startup repair. Then the computer has revealed: "it will fix the problem automatically and may take several minutes. If it cannot start, it automatically turns off and restarts. "I waited patiently. After a long period, another window will appear. It shows HP Recovery Manager with options: "I need immediate assistance; I want to perform the task of Maintenance; I like to take security measures. "
The computer, on the top of this window, also shows a pop-up with this message: "attention: your computer is currently in the Sun on the battery." This process requires the computer to be connected to the power adapter. Connect your computer, power adapter, and then click OK to continue"in seeing this message I have connected my laptop to the power adapter. I waited. Now, the power is complete-100%. Even now, the computer is idle, and he hung up on the last mentioned screen. Its not working. I need urgent assistance to resolve the problem.

Recovery Manager asking 5 discs! HP G56 - 118 CA
Hello. I hope someone can help me.
To replace a damaged hard drive, I did the following:
(1) I created the factory installed Win 7 files disks (4 in total).
(2) wiped my drives (not formatted, but wiped) for the safety of the disposal.
(3) replaced the old HD with the new HD with the same capacity.
(4) restoration process began. After formatting around 82%, the Recovery Manager ejected the disc #4 and claimed disk #5.
I don't have a disc number #5! What happened and how do I fix it?
(After reading the tips, I checked the discs for my model HP option controls.) The set of recovery disks is also 4 disks).
Thanks a lot for your advice and help!
I understand that you had only four recovery disks created from the system, but the recovery request a fifth disc.
It calls for disk 5 or additional disk? In all cases, the discs that you have done do not work and there is no way to change the files that are actually on this drive to change what he asks at the end of the disc.
I think that the best option would be to contact HP for a set of factory recovery discs sent to you. These discs were made specifically for this system and should work without any problems. Certainly, the disk system should work as well, but can occur some problems with them. In some cases where the user created disks do not work, you can get that they are sent free of charge. I will note that I cannot guarantee that they will be free of charge. In the United States, they are usually $15 - $20 USD.
HP can be contacted at 1-800-474-6836 the Canada and the United States.

After a restart/virus scan (after the large recent Windows Update Microsoft), I see on the background one right part of my screen:
Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of Windows is not genuine.
I looked at the system screen and it shows only: Windows is activated.
I ran Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics tool, and it shows:
Validation status: genuine
Validation code: 0N/a for resolution state (probably because he thinks that the installation is correct).
Don't know what the issue is here? Does anyone know a fix for this? I would rather have not shut down the system after 30 days of work!
Thank you!According to the report that you have posted, you should not see a non-genuine problem - the report is clean.
If you are indeed to see a non-genuine notification, then is that from time to time, or is this all the time?
If it is present only from time to time, you have a race condition - and those can be a nightmare to solve, because they disappear as soon as you look at :) They are often caused by antivirus programs in conflict with other programs running
If it is there all the time, then try the following.

Computer startup problem. Recovery system restarts just the system.
Computer my mother farm very well last night, but after a reboot this morning, the Dell splash screen was covered with blue vertical bars and it kept crashing when you go in Windows Vista. In safe mode don't work such that it is simply the computer freeze to a black screen and trying to use the system supplied with the right computer recovery disk the computer back at the start of the Dell and plant one more time.
The computer had no errors at all before this problem, so we have no idea of what the problem may be.
Tried to reinstall Vista, it becomes black screen "finish installation" and finally goes back right to the screen of Windows recovery again.
If the information below fail, contact Dell.
Above is Dell to reinstall Vista from the DVD on your computer.
See you soon.

We strive to produce a report required by the State of California, which requires us to download Silverlight 4. The error message says you need to uninstall all previous versions of Silverlight, which there is one on the system: 1 of Silverlight (1.0.30109.0). The last update 29/01/11 at 12:38, an automatic update. When I go into "Control Panel" "Add/Remove Programs" find Microsoft Silverlight 1 and hit 'Delete' another error message tells me that it cannot find the source. I did a search on the hard drive and it came with c:/229fe816f9d5ed50e95460. I can access this file or delete it. How can I get Silverlight 1 out of this machine if I install Silverlight 4?
Hello
Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro audience on the Silverlight forums. Please post your question in the below link:

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
are a few others. You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss
