I just had a new hard drive installed with XP, and no matter what I set the resolution to, everything now looks stretched horizontally. I don't have this problem with the old hard drive containing XP
If you did a clean installation of XP, then you must install the hardware drivers for your components. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC, then download and install the latest Windows XP drivers for your model.

Hi, I'm Amir Ahmad Amiri 16 years of Afghanistan, my windows is Win 7 home Premium and I have a usrer of the admin who is protected by myself and I forgot the password of the user account of the said. The guest account is disabled and I have no CD to repair. Please help me!
There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:- Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
- Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
- Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
- Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
- Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
- Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
A Windows repair CD is absolutely essential if you decide to do maintenance on your own PC. It takes only three minutes to burn a via the control panel / backup and restore. You have these options:- Burn it on another computer.
- Borrow one from a friend.
- Purchase one here: http://systemdiscs.com/

Unable to connect to the internet from the second computer to the home network.
One of my computers on home network has stopped working after a storm in which several circuits in the House have been triggered. The computer seems to work very well, and other computers on the network can access the internet by using IE 8. I replaced the ethernet cable and rebooted. No difference. In addition, I checked the Device Manager, which indicates that the ethernet card works fine. Any ideas on what's going on? Thank you.
Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator. If you are using Windows XP, open the command prompt window.
Type the following command-
chkdsk /f /r and press enter
You will receive a message about the disk must be locked and you want to run the scan on reboot. Press y and press enter
Reboot the system and go watch TV or read a book because it will take some time.

I'm unable to access the internet (IE), I am able to enable safe, it is blocked. This program wants me to buy Vista Home Security 2012 to clear up problems with my computer. Programs also indicates that I have many viruses and my information has been compromised. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem. I noticed that there is 2Point controlling the network.
Hello
Here's a guide to deletion, including workaround for no internet connection:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-Vista-Home-Security-2012
"It is possible that the infection you are trying to delete does not allow you to download files on the infected computer. If this is the case, then you will need to download the files requested in this guide on another computer and then transfer them to the infected computer. You can transfer the files via a CD/DVD, external hard drive or USB key. »
Please follow all the steps described in the guide to deletion and do not skip any.
See you soon.

Unable to connect to the internet using Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
Just installed Windows Vista Home Premium and cannot connect to the internet. The network card is a Broadcom 802.11n and a code appears who says: device cannot start (Code 10). Does anyone know how I could fix this problem?
I think that you don't have the right driver.
Go to the website of FAB and look for downloads or support and type in your model number and find the driver for the network card.
Thank you.

Homer in Windows Server does not connect to the internet.
I installed Windows Home Server on a self-built media server. Everything on the hardware is working properly. The server software is installed. The ethernet line is connected to my Linksys router. The power light is on decision-making on the case ethernet connection. The power led is on the router where the ethernet is connected. So, in my view, that the issue is not material.
Problems:
1. the server does not connect to the internet.
2. my computer does not recognize the server when I install the Windows Home Server Connector software.
3. the wizard of Linksys on my computer does not recognize the server as a "new device".I feel like I'm missing a driver, maybe a driver of ethernet controller, but do not know how to diagnose the problem. I downloaded the Windows tool that identified the problems I listed, but solutions are not feasible.
Any suggestions?

Unable to connect to the Internet on Vista 64 Home Premium...
I had a power supply die on me after about 3 years of use. I went and bought a new one. It does not fit into the case for some reason any (as. 25 "too big.) So I bought a new case and transferred everything just above. Ok. The system turns on and works fine except for one question: I can't connect to the Internet more.
Everything worked fine until PSU croassé. I'm running on an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard with 4 GB of RAM. The machine has 2 available LAN connections, and I have always used just on the other without any problems before. Now when I look at network connections in my control panel, it shows 'limited connectivity' with nothing to the Internet. I don't get a lot of response using the function "diagnose the connection problem. It comes up saying that there is always a problem.
I really don't know what else to do, as I watched to make sure that everything is properly enabled in CMOS and in Windows. Technically, it seems to my limited experience with this sort of thing he has to work very well (as it was before I had to move the material to a new case.) For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Chris_565,
Follow the instructions below that may help you resolve the issue.
Method 1:
So that the network is working properly, let's check to see if your network services are working properly.
1. open the Start Menu
2 type services in the start search box and press enter
3. click on continue in the UAC prompt
4. search for network connections, network list Service, knowledge of network and Service of Network Store Interface locations
5. check that the status is set to started and Startup Type is set to automatic
6. If this is not the case then right-click the service and select start to start the service
7. make a right-click the service and select Properties, change the startup type to automatic
8. repeat if necessary for the services listed in step 4
Check whether the problem is resolved.
Method 2:
If you still have the problem of connection to the network or to the internet follow this steps that fixes most of the problems of connectivity.
Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:
Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233
Check whether the problem is resolved.
Method 3:
To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:
How to reset the Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357
Method 4:
Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.
For more information, please see the link below.
Please post back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem.
Kind regards

My operating system is Windows XP Pro. My current version of Firefox is 31.1.1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You may have a lock file. The best way to clear it is this clean reinstall procedure:
(1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 33 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).
(2) the release of Firefox.
(3) to rename the folder (Windows 32-bit folder names)
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
TO
C:\Program Files\OldFirefox
(4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
Try restarting Firefox. Fixed?
Note: Some plugins recently installed can exist only in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:
- C:\Program Files\OldFirefox\Plugins
- C:\Program Files\OldFirefox\browser\plugins

I hope to have a single list of bookmarks that are the result of a combination of ALL my devices (phone, Tablet, office and Home Office work). That's how sync is scheduled to work? All devices 'equal' to another, or a master-slave scenario?
Yes, if you synchronize both your home and work desk the bookmarks from the registration desk will be combined with those of the Office of work and vice versa.
