  I am running Windows XP SP3 with RAM sticks of 256 MB (2) on an old eMachines T5026 desk top.  I added strips of RAM 1.0 GB (2) for the two slots open and computer would not start.  I tried with stick (1) 1 G and (2) 1 sticks and it still won't start.  I tried to mix and match the 256 with 1 G in each combimation, but it does not start.  Won't start with one or two sticks of 256.  Best Buy had PC3200 DDR RAM but the spec above States use PC2700.  Geek Squad says that PC3200 is OK instead of PC2700.  Is this the problem or I had to do something besides just insert new RAM?   Suggestions welcome.  Thank you.

  I have a problem with my 3 year old, 1800-814.
  It all started with the sudden Windows crashes. He ran sometimes smooth, sometimes he just hung up. So I decided to reinstall the laptop. My problem is when it is plugged by pressing the power on button does not start the laptop. Just the green light is on nothing else happens. Sometimes it starts after a wait of 3 or 5 seconds. On battery it starts every time. What can I do? A defect material or just dust somewhere?

  It seems that you are using the latest sim but more old SDK. try to update your Tablet OS SDK of AIR and then try to deploy again. using the versions do not match led to mistakes in the past.

  If you are not able to boot into normal mode, then I suggest you to start in safe mode and perform the clean boot.

  Lee - there are a number of possibilities. First of all, it depends whether you burn audio disks or data - if they are audio discs, you can check and rearrange the order of songs in the burn list - if necessary - before you start burning. If you drag multiple files to the burn list quite often the last track you clicked on will go upward, so I wonder if it is what can happen.   First of all, make sure that you're connected Administrators account to do.

  How to change a drive letter to change an existing drive letter on a drive, on a partition, or a volume, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start , click run and type compmgmt.msc .
  3. In the left pane, and then click disk management .
  4. Right click on the drive, the partition, the logical drive or volume that you want to assign a drive letter to and then click change drive letter and paths .
  5. Click change .
  6. Click assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK .
  7. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.

  The letter of the drive, partition, or volume that you specified is changed, and the new drive letter is displayed in the appropriate drive, partition, or volume in the disk management tool.

  -Won't start if the external hard drive is connected to a USB port

  -Boot freezes, the BIOS detects the drive, shows USB 2.0: WD My Book, fan gets stronger

  Tried solution:

  -Different USB ports

  -Varied, boot order first set internal hd

  -Disconnect and start continues

  -Mouse USB wireless at the same time / plug, unplug, almost worked

  Works okey if hooked up later when Windows has loaded (also works just after when it is plugged in after successful BIOS).

  My conclusion: HP BIOS/USB controller isn't working okey with WD My Book when you start the computer. If you wait about 3-4 minutes, to return to the boot. If you re-create the partition in Windows 7, you might be able to speed up the process. I have converted the MBR to GPT (Google more) and reformatted it NTFS. Reducing a starter and holds a GPT formatted, cannot be a boot disk. Now, there are about 1 min delay. If there is a switch to turn off USB Legacy support, that could help. There is not, thanks to the crappy BIOS HP. You can also seek support from Western Digital and discover interesting things.

  Then, finally, it'll pass the boot.
