So what you want to do is put windows 7 to replace windows vista on your new hard drive?

Step 1: Download the ISO file.
You will need a cache of DVD or a USB flash drive (3 GB or better), if you insert a DVD, then it will ask you if you want to use it with a DVD player or a usb flash drive. Check the box to a DVD player or something similar to this. With a flash drive, you don't have to worry about setting up or anything.
Download the ISO of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.
Be patient as it can take an hour to download on a medium speed wifi connection.
Step 2: Burn the disk image to a DVD
Now that you will burn the ISO on DVD once it's done. To do than go to where ever you downloaded the ISO on your computer and right-click on the ISO file. Now click on burn the disk image.
Make sure your DVD is inserted. When asked what disc burner, select the drive that you inserted the DVD in. If you have only 1 DVD player you should have only 1 option. Now hit burn and go get coffee or something while you wait.
Burn the image on a USB flash drive
But if you don't have a DVD, you can always use a USB flash drive.
You need to download Universal USB install
Now open universal USB install and it will ask you to choose a Linux distro. Keep scrolling down until you find "software based on other or non-linux".
Select windows 7 Setup from there. Now step 2 hit browse and find where you downloaded the ISO image. Now, select your USB flash drive letter. It takes only 1 option. And click on create. And when it asks you if you want to format? Click Yes.
DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR FLASH DRIVE PROBABLY ALL THAT FILES WILL BE DELETED IN THIS PROCESS
Step 3: Boot from your DVD or USB
Restart your computer, and while it loads the bios, it must be said somewhere boot options. And there will be a F1, F2, F3, or some F key to enter the boot options.
After that, select the USB flash drive or a DVD drive to start. You will get to the windows installation and you can install windows 7.
It will ask you your product key. It is in any way illegal.

    Hello

There is no free and legal Vista download

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista:

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

    Hello

There's a photo guide based on the recovery of your model here...

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/tutorial/381906/product/VGN-fz18g

If you cannot use this method because what did your friend, your options are...

    • Pay Sony for media recovery
    • A base Windows installation followed by installing specific Sony drivers and software from their Web site.

If you walk down the road of the latter, I would say that, if possible, before you begin reinstalling Windows you download at least the Ethernet drivers and wireless and save in, for example, a USB key. Start your drivers to search for them (and other) here...

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/product/VGN-fz18g/FAQ

.. everything will be difficult to download if drivers that allow access to the internet are not native to a new installation of Windows.

Your principled stand against Sony charges for media recovery is, in my opinion, wrong. As I already said twice...

If Sony did not provide recovery media that they have provided the means to create them

If you lost or do not burn them and messed up your recovery partition, it's not for lack of Sony.

My serious recommendation is to accept a fee of Sony for the recovery media. It will make life much simpler for you. For this reason alone, it is probably useful tax, especially considering that you're obviously not a user advanced. Otherwise, why ask the help of a friend and ask for help on this forum?

I suspect that the links I've seen on this website are actually only valid for Windows 7 media images. If you do not buy the recovery media and go with an iso image download Vista Home Premium, I have to warn about the following...

    • The legality of this is, at best, questionable
    • If it's not genuine Microsoft media you might end by in an even bigger mess (if it works at all)

  • I have my product key, but not the cd of windows!

    Greetings to all!

OK, 2 years ago, I bought my laptop. He gave me the laptop but he gave me the windows cd so I can format it and I was pretty beginner do not ask. The thing is that the laptop has the product key (25 digit code) on the real sticker on the back side of the laptop. Then... I want to format my laptop... What are my choices because I don't have the cd? A friend told me that I can download a windows evaluation version and install it and then put my product key where he will ask. Can someone help me? I can't find the right link to download windows. I'm looking 'Windows XP Professional 1-2CPU' sticker product key says. Help :(

    No, it will not work.

    1. most laptops have a factory to restore the image on a special partition on the hard drive. To call the factory restore process, a general starts the computer and press a key of function (such as F10) or a combination of keys (such as Alt + F11). Search tech support website of the computer laptop mftr. to know how to restore your computer if you plant and then do it after saving your data.

    2. If the factory restore image does not exist or does not work, contact technical support of computer laptop mftr. and see if they will sell you a set of recovery disks. This will normally very expensive, around $20-25.

3 otherwise, either buy a full copy of what version of XP you want (XP Home is less expensive than XP Pro and is fine for most people) and do a clean install of Windows. The copy of the detail will be its own product key that you will use. After installation, be sure to install all the drivers for your laptop. You will get drivers to computer mftr's technical support Web site.

    4. the only other alternative would be to take your computer to a local technician who can install Windows using a generic OEM installation disc or brand. Of course, it will be free, and you will not have the OS disk to keep later, so this isn't really the best scenario for you. #1 or #2 are the best choices. • need an iso file to install windows for windows vista Home premium 32-bit

I have a product key, but need Windows vista Home Premium (32 bit) ISO because I lost the part recovery partition

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
