  I understand that you have a problem with the display, but if you change the position of the screen, it disappears.

  Here is a link to the display quality problems that can help.

  As you said it disappears when you reposition the screen, that the connection cable can become loose or damaged opening and closing the display.

  The internal display is affected or the graphics chip on the motherboard is faulty.

  Make sure that there is not another application that might be causing the problem. Try to perform a cleanboot, instructions are foundhere.

  I m afraid. I have bad news for you ;(
  I think you ve you have a problem with the hardware in my eyes, there might be something wrong with the GPU chip.
  The white lines on the screen could be related to a faulty graphics card and get the BSOD error due to a hardware malfunction or software serious questions

  I m sure that the recovery CD does not contain software problems and therefore only the fault of hardware could be the reason for the lines on the screen and the BSOD.

  In my opinion, you should contact the ASP in your country for assistance if all goes well you guarantee is valid.

  It's probably the edge of the page. When Acrobat poster towing pages you have the choice of a ditch or a black line between.

• Removal of white line in the CSS formatting

  I hope that one of you has experienced many can help a beginner (new!)

  I've been dealing with CSS and build my layout with it instead of tables, following the advice of some of you guys here. He's doing much so far, and I can see why you recommended, but I hit a roadblock.

  At the top of my page, in a div tag, I have my image in the header. Just below that, in a new div, I have an indefinite list of words which I arranged in a single line. Lower than that, again, I have another image.

  What I want is for each of these layers to flow from one to another, without any white space in the middle (my background is white). There is no white space between my list of words that are on a green background, and the image below, but between the top image and block the green background which is my line of words, there is a white line.

  I tried everything in my limited arsenal of "expertise", which amounts to try the margin = 0 tags on the top image and the line of words, but little matter what I try, the white line will not disappear. I've rechecked to be sure, and it is not part of the image. When you insert a picture in html using the CBC, DW automatically adds a white line underneath that you can not delete it in CSS?

  I can put up a screenshot if that helps?

  My best guess without benefit of your page appears, you have a few lines of browser by default & padding appearing around one or two images.

  Try using a regular background with no photo and see if the problem goes away.  There may be a problem with the use of the images on the desktop and I want to exclude.

  Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

  You can get in trouble with your device drivers.  Go to Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you should get updates for your video card and your monitor at least and all the others you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

  If the above does not work, there may be a hardware problem with your video card or your monitor (or maybe something else that these two are the most likely suspects) - but let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

  Scan using the ADF puts a vertical line in the middle of the scanned page.  This does not happen when I scan from the flat screen

  Brian, this is going to be a pretty easy fix. What you're going to need to get is a lint cloth (as a microfibre cloth or a filter coffee) and get just a wet touch. Then, open the top of your printer to reveal the glass. There are two sections, one large, and that is a thin strip of glass on the left side. If the line makes its appearance in the ADF scans/copies only - clean this thin section with a moist, lint cloth.

  I have a Sony Alpha a200 camera. Often, when I use the fetue color to desaturate blue to darken the sky an apears on the white line on the horizon or agaist another object that crosses the sky. Anyone know why or how to remedy? What is a thing of the camera or something in lightroom? I think it would be possible that the line is already there, but everything just not visible until the sky are obscured.

  You have a few lenses chromatic aberration (CA) which can be cleaned using the profile of lenses. If there is no profile for your lens of camera available, you can use the Chromatic Aberration sliders manual tab.

  The next suspect is the fill and recovery tools. When used with high settings above about 35, you can get a side effect during transitions of high brightness as the sky behind the lighthouse. The STL luminance sliders are just accentuate the effect of edge.

  Try to fix that and then set the fill and recovery at 35 or less. Also check your sharpening settings, which, if the market value amount too high can cause a simlar 'halo effect' on the edges.

  It's easy to say; you need to connect the external monitor to the laptop and need to check if the same if possible lines on a second external display.

  If the lines were visible on the external monitor, so that the GPU fault is possible.
