I have a white square 2.5 inches to the top of my office

I have a white square 2.5 inches on my desk, to remove it, the attempts failed.

Hi MartinDuggan,

Have you done any recent changes to the computer, such as adding software, hardware, or updates?

How long have you had this problem? If it is a recent issue, follow the steps to perform a System Restore.

The place appears on all the user accounts on the computer? If necessary, create a new user account to see if the problem persists.

You should also scan your computer with your installed antivirus software. If you don't have anti-virus software, you can install Microsoft Security Essentials. It a free software.

My side scroll bars do not work by clicking and dragging. They don't even show when I pass the cursor over them when they are at the top of the page. If I use the drop-down arrow at the bottom, they will come with one click at a time. Then, when they are a couple of inches high, I can choose them and they work fine. Is the same for the menu items at the TOP OF THE PAGE THE. Very frustrating. Even this page. If I scroll down too far and then try to type in this box (because it is now near the top of the page), nothing happens. I can also use the menu to make the bold or italic scrip... nothing on this bar at the top of this box... unless I scroll a couple of inches.

until a few days ago the entire report of my screen looked the same. I don't know what happened.

    Hello

You don't say if anything fills this gap, as in IE window is simply smaller, but the Office remains behind it

If so, run your mouse cursor to the top of Internet Explorer until it turns into a double arrow > left click and hold > drag to the previous position.

If it is not the problem, there are a few things you can try:

    Change the resolution of the screen;

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

If that fixed it, go to the website of your computer manufacturer > drivers download Section > then key in your computer model number > find your operating system > find two graphics / video or from the Chipset drivers and download and install.

Then try to change the screen resolution.

Or do a system restore to before that happened.

During the last installation of windows updates, I closed Firefox and reopened. He had this annoying line of pixels in the upper part of the screen. They do not meet the click or right click and interfere with my muscle memory (I'm used to raise the slider as high as possible to change the tabs).

How can I get rid of them?

It is not the title bar. The title bar disappears automatically in full screen. Having said that, I discovered that the problem was with one of my modules. I have reset firefox and the problem disappeared.

The settings will be based on the more common during conversion - in this case white colors should not be in the top 10.

You can increase the number of colors until you get a pure white, or else you can develop your track, then select gray lighter, use > same fill color and convert this shade of white.

It is still under warranty, then contact Microsoft for repair or replacement (1-800-642-7676).

You could try getting a can of compressed air and spray under the "components" button and see if that dislodges whatever it is. You spill something on it as a drink or a coffee with sugar, something sticky? If so, you might be able to dampen a cloth with alcohol (NO water) and let it slide under components, and then purge with the air spray. If screw you it up, however, it will void any warranty you have.

Start > run > msconfig [Enter]

This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".

Important - do not use the System Configuration utility to stop the process. Use rather Start > Run > services.msc [Enter] and stop all services unless you really, really know what you're doing.

  • White square in the middle of the screen

On my desk of the sisters, she has her peak office and no matter what she put on it or leaves Virgin she has a big white square in the middle of the scren and it covers anyting behind, we searched and searched and cannot understand why, we had malware and spyware and all software programs we can but nothing he removes its been a few months ago. She visata, can anyone help thanks

Try using a regular background with no photo and see if the problem goes away.  There may be a problem with the use of the images on the desktop and I want to exclude.

Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

You can get in trouble with your device drivers.  Go to Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you should get updates for your video card and your monitor at least and all the others you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

If the above does not work, there may be a hardware problem with your video card or your monitor (or maybe something else that these two are the most likely suspects) - but let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

I hope this helps. Let me know (and don't forget to tell me what happened when you tried the above in your next reply).

    Good luck!

  • New Dell laptop has a white square of 4 "on my desktop

I just bought a new Dell laptop with vista. When it shows the office, a white square of 4 "replaces the screen. l ' turn off or restore does not cure the problem

    peewelt,
Since the white box then emerged on the Internet, I strongly suspect malware.  Anytime something happens while online, it is the prime suspect.  Try running a good scan online even if you have security software such as yours could have been compromised.  Here are two options:

    Windows OneCare: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah/?s_cid=sah
    or
    Trend Micro Housecall: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Also download, install and run Malwarebytes from Malwarebytes.org.  It of free and is one of the most reliable sources for malware protection.

If who does not find any, try to restore the system to a point in time before the problem started:
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    Click Finish.
The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

  • Get a big white square in the middle of the screen on PS CC

I use PS CC on an old Mac Pro Tower of 9 months. I am getting sporadically the white squares on the screen through images about 100 MB. They disappear when I Zoom in or out, but it is becoming more and more embarrassing. I use totally RAD Plugin and Plugin DXO.
