  • After installation of the update, I get a folder on my desktop.  Can I delete it?

I just upgraded to 3.5 and have noticed an Adobe folder on my desktop which has two folders inside, 3.4 and 3.5 of Lightroom Lightroom.

Do I need of them, or can I delete them?

Might as well delete. You can use the content to re - install LR, but download is relatively fast these days, and re-setup is something quite unusual.

  • How to recover accidentally deleted bookmarks folder

Just look through a Favorites folder "music" and decided to delete the old folder it contains. Unfortunately, I managed to delete the folder music together!
It is not in the Recycle Bin that I find strange, so is there another way I can restore this precious bookmarks folder. Is it hidden in Firefox somewhwere?
Just to let you know, I'm not that great with computer talk so would appreciate any help being relatively simple if poss. Cheers.

If you have not yet closed Firefox, just open the library window and use organize > Cancel.

If you have closed Firefox, restore a backup of bookmark to before this is deleted.

  • Accidentally deleted a folder of important emails can I recover?

These documents were all in a subfolder in my email.  I had several other subfolders and they are all gone.  Canthey be restored.

Using Outlook Express? If so first check the Windows Recycle Bin and the Outlook Express a storage folder see if you BAK files for these records. If so, note the date of creation and to see this.

All e-mail messages may be missing when you start Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/918069

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first locate the message store in Windows Explorer.

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location.

In Windows XP, the dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

In Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file and drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

    **************************************************************

If you have no bak files, you will need a recovery tool.

You may need to run in the extract from disk Mode if its normal recovery mode fails to find lost messages.

  • Firefox creates "desktop" folder on the desktop whenever I have download

So I just installed Firefox on my new laptop, and whenever I download something, Firefox creates a "Desktop" folder on the desktop and download of the sticks in there. I used to be able to download directly on the desktop, but with this version, I can't. I tried tools > Options > save files to, but whenever I have click on the Browse button and select the location of my desired download (office under the "Favorites" section), Firefox ignores and sets the path as C:\Users\User1\Desktop\Desktop. Is it possible to fix this? It is extremely irritating.

See if it works for you as it does for me.

    1. Create a new folder on the desktop labeled downloads (or any other name),
    2. Open tools > Options-> general
    3. Downloads, click on the Browse button and select the new downloads folder that you just created.

Firefox wants a "folder name" for downloads, by specifying the 'bureau' only or won't 'Favorites '. When you try to force the issue, the name of the folder will mimic what the user is trying to specify. In your case, it created the folder "Desktop" on the desktop. Yes, it's different from previous versions of Firefox, but this change took place ago - many versions so it is not really 'new' any longer.

  • I can't play music on an ongoing basis. My music is in a folder on my desktop. I downloaded Flip4Mac.wmv. But every time a song ends, I have to go to the folder and choose another song.

I have my music in a folder on the desktop. I have to go to the folder that each song time ends and choose another. How can I get the music played continuously and randomly?

I don't know what Flip4Mac has to do with this... but if you open iTunes, and then create a playlist and download the music in it, you should be able to play all the time, perhaps random. Generally, it can be simply drag drop when you created the playlist
