  Have verizon usb 720 modem for my computer laptop vista Home Premium 32. Here downloaded update but when get novatel driver the device install failed code 1603. Another says that it is a usb device bad 720. Verizon says the rssi-rtt and the rssi on there network evdo should be about - 80 and my poster-98 device manager and-88 most of the time. With 3 bars of signal, they say it's the 720.mkv that's a bad camera or laptop? Can not stream video and Media Player even freezes. Have updates and it started 2 months ago. Any help don't want not to block 2 years for a new modem, if no change. Or would it be the laptop? Thanks for any info.

• How to configure a RV042 behind a DSL Modem?

  I have a router RV042 VPN that I try to use VPN in to my computer at home. My House uses a DSL modem to connect to the Internet. How to configure the ADSL modem to connect the router?

  The modem is a gateway and I put this bridge mode and changed the router RV042 to PPPoE (according to your instructions) and now I can able to administer the router RV042 from my work computer and get out to the internet from my computer at home, one more step. Now when I try to VPN using PPTP in it connects then drops out me after about 1 minute of sometimes more sometimes less, but never more than a few minutes. I tried to adjust the MTU on the documentation of support, but that did not help. Any thoughts?

  OK, so I know the router is a little older but the CD Setup Wizard did his thing, I the TZO confirm email acount and I can access the camera on the spot.  Needless to say that I can't access via the internet or I wouldn't be here.   When I check the router it's all parameters as it should and I guess I should do something for the modem, but what?

  So if you do not connect to the internet with a DSL or cable modem, how you?  I guess the Setup Assistant would be see the modem and suggest modifications if necessary.

  I made the transition into the modem as you suggest.  Bingo it works! Thanks for the help. My new router will be here Monday (tomorrow) a Linksys of course, thank you Amazon to have it in stock.

  BTW if someone will do the transparent bridging, I just did a few screenshots printed to make sure that I could go back if he's screwed.  It also helps to have your DSL username and password handy.

  I'm trying to connect my router BEFW11S4 to a netopia dsl modem via an ethernet cable.  The router doesn't seem to be able to get an IP from the modem.  The modem log shows not even attempting the router of ideas for what to try?

  I want just to extend the wireless network I already have of the netopia, if via bridging or routing, I don't care.

  In theory, anything can be infected by malware.  In practice, it would be enough almost impossible to happen.

  These days, any device with more complexity that a toaster has a microprocessor and a program that is usually embedded in flashable memory (rewritable).  So yes, a lot of custom writing malware could infect the Flash inside the unit and cause problems.  But it will have to be written to do so expressly and customized for each type of modem.  In other words, not very likely, but possible.

  Hi, I have a DSL-G604T modem and try to install ot it on my computer, but my computer can't detect it. It works on my other laptop but I did complete the Setup on this one.

  During the saying of the installation, I get a popup:

  Modem not detected! Please the following:

  1. the power adapter is connected to your modem and an electrical outlet. That is of course.

  2. your modem Ethernet cable is properly connected to your computer. Who it is and this same shows active on the back of the laptop.

  3. network adapter is properly installed on your computer.

  In Device Manager it seems to be nothing wrong with my 3 network adapters even if I don't know how to upgrade.

  Help, please.

  If the device is what I think it is, you have not acutally 'Install' on your computer. It is a standalone device. It is designed to serve as a 'router' between the computer you have at home and your DSL connection. Wireless routers usually assign IP addresses to computers inside your home and communication then on 'route. Your DSL connection goes into a port and your computers connect either wireless or cable in one of the industry standard ethernet ports 4 x 10/100mbs.

  Connections to routers are most often made through your browser like IE. the address is usually: http://192.168.0.1

  I have an AT & T provided Motorola 2210 modem for a DSL connection, I at a different location. In this case, I do the configuration of the modem to the PPPoE connection and can connect to a computer using a wired Ethernet connection. The Motorola 2210 acts as a router and recovering a DHCP address. That works very well for a computer.

  I'll assume that you have the

  order here, otherwise the PIX don't even try and start a PPPoE connection.

  If it is not coming to the top, then we see him debugs listed in the example configuration that you included. It is an authentication issue with the name of user and password or authentication type, nor the Internet connection does not work correctly.

  won´t modem work since these modems are as "winmodems" and these modems do not work under linux.

  It s important what distribution to use because some distributions have different driver supports (for example ubuntu a more automatic installation of the pilot but when driven gentoo you install everything from scratch.) and maybe some communities have a workaround to make the modems working but it IS all SIMPLY GUESSING AND NOT A STATEMENT!

  Would be nice to tell us what distro you want to use.

  You can have one or the other hard connected (wired) network or a WiFi to your airport, but you can't have both. Unplug your ethernet cable from your Mac. Now, you'll be on a Wi - Fi on all devices. Reset your AE and use the installation wizard. Otherwise most suppliers of cable modems that with wi - fi for which they charge you an additional monthly cost.
