Original title: old Dell laptop broke down.

    Hello

You can contact Dell and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks and to reinstall the operating system.

They should do this for a small fee.

If this method has not been destroyed by the last re - install, and if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

With a Dell, you press F8 at startup and follow the instructions

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

My errased sticker product key and I can't read all the text to reactivate my windows visa. What should I do now?

    Hello

You mean the sticker on the case of the Vista operating system pre-installed from Dell, HP, Acer, Toshiba, etc.) ?

If you do, you can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

I want reinstal windows but have lost my product key and have no disc to do what I have to do I know I can do it myself and don't want to pay someone to do it for me

    Hello

Where was the product key you have lost?

And you have a pre-installed OEM license or a retail license?

If it is an OEM preinstalled contact license (Acer, Toshiba, etc.), the manufacturer and, ask them if you have a recovery Partition and if so, how to use it to reinstall the operating system to a new State by pressing F10, F11, or a sequence of different at startup button. or if you do not have a recovery partiiton asked to send you recovery disks, what they should do for a small fee.

Or ways above to reinstall the operating system normally requires your share product key information

When I run lightroom it tells me to "leave the other copy of lightroom before trying to launch."  I don't have another copy running.  What should I do?

This is a new message that I heard no said just like that. This indicates that Lightroom is not normally arrested and left a record that makes Lightroom it's already underway when you try to start it again. With the help of Windows Explorer or the Finder (depending on your operating system) go to the folder that contains your Lightroom Catalog. In this folder you will find a folder with the same name as your catalog, but with .lock extension. You must remove this lock file, and then Lightroom should start normally.

    Hi, Steve.

My suggestion, because you do not know your exact model laptop, is to run the tool to scan the Crucial memory and it should tell you how your PC can take memory and how fast. I'm assuming that PC2-5300, based on your processor. PC2-6400 also works if it's cheaper to buy.  It will just downclock at low speed 667 MHz.

  • TrayApp.msi missing. I have windows xp. How should I do?

TrayApp.msi missing. I have windows xp. How should I do?

    Hi LarryBullington,

    ·         You did it of any material changes or software on the computer before this problem?

    ·         Exactly when you receive the error message?

The TrayApp.msi file is associated with the HP Photosmart Digital Imaging software.

If you receive a popup of the message, I suggest to uninstall the HP Photosmart Digital Imaging software and reinstall it back.

Note: You can download HP software applications from the web site of the customer; or if the software was supplied with the computer, you can reinstall using the HP application recovery process.

  • should I have got windows xp with my operating system disk, I bought the xp system with code authenticticatioin

I bought a dual pentium with acer moniter windows home edition OS prossesor .should I got the new cd with my package?

Maybe and maybe not.  You should have been provided with some means to reinstall Windows on your machine should something bad happen.

If you have purchased an OEM machine (such as HP, Dell, E-machines brand name, etc.), in the old days, the manufacturer will provide a DVD to reinstall Windows.  More recently, they save the expense of the DVD and provide a recovery Partition on the hard drive that can be activated by pressing a key or combination of keys to the start screen very first from the switching on of the machine.  In addition, they generally provide a way for you to burn your own DVDs (only once) for use as a backup hard drive to go belly.  In any case, if you have an OEM machine, you should go to the manufacturer's Web site and download the manual for your computer.  Everything should be revealed it has appliqu' to your machine.

If you bought a PC to measure with a copy retail XP, then I would expect that you should have been provided with a DVD or instructions on how to make your own backup OS installation to reinstall Windows.

  • I deleted some software by accident - now I can't read my files of windows (like word). Should what software I download?

All of my windows files now are not recognized - as I do not have good software? I deleted it, try to free up space on my hard drive - but I indeed need this software: while my computer said I have no... I think that the software was called: windows 2003 pack basic service, although I do not know - and do not think the download.  I have a Windows XP laptop and really need to download this software again so I can read my files.  But I don't know what software I need?  I tried to download some software 2007 your site Web - but that did nothing.  Help, please?

These are the discs you originally installed the software from. Office 2003, if that's what we talk about, is too old for came in a version of direct download, so you must have instaled CD drives when you got it.
