I have no sound after installing Windows XP.
Audio... No sound!
I formatted the hard drive and intalled win xp pro, now it tells me I have no audio device, please help!
Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number.
If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP install all device drivers, starting with the card mother/chipset drivers,
LAN, Audio, USB, SATA, etc, and so on.
Note: If there is no XP driver listed, then your computer is not compatible Windows XP.

If you have an Intel motherboard, you can try the Intel driver update utility: http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm?iid=dc_iduu

Check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the newer Windows XP drivers for your card.

It would be possible that the reason that your registry database seems to zero after the reboot is your antiviral is preventing to be changed when you update your drivers. but this is only an idea unproven, but a possibility.
in all cases, try to do a restore point for today / now. This will take a snapshot of the current state of the system.
Then, see if you can restore your computer state before the update that would have saved the drivers work and functional setup for your speaker system.
my suggestion is to run a system via safe mode restore it if the anti viral theory is true, that it will not impede the process of restoring system in safe mode.

No sound after installing windows 10
I installed Windows on a PC with windows 8.1 10 and now no sound. I have to download new drivers? ????? Thanks for your help.
Hello
This could be one of a few different issues. First, we will check your drivers.
Open Start, type Device Managerand select it in the list of results. Under sound, video and game controllers, select your sound card, open it, click the driver tab and select Update driver. If Windows can't find a new driver, search for one on the device manufacturer's Web site and follow their instructions.
If these steps do not work, try to uninstall your sound driver: open the Device Manager, right click (or press and hold) the audio driver, and then click Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will try to reinstall the driver.
If this does not work, try using the generic audio driver supplied with Windows. Here's how: in the Device Manager, right click (or tap and hold) your audio driver > Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer, select the Device high definition Audio, select Nextand follow the instructions to install it.
If you're still having problems after trying these methods, we will try to run the audio Troubleshooter.
Keep me posted on your results!

No sound after installing Windows Vista SP2
Vista service pack 2 and the loss of its
Windows vista 32 bit
I installed vista service pack 2 update and lost sound, I restored my computer to service pack 2 and sound istalling pre was there. I have re-installed now update sevice pack 2 and its missing again. It's the same with service pack 1 and I had to restore my computer to factory settings to retrieve the sound. I really don't want to have to do it again.
I tried the microsoft fix that says everything is fine. I've done all the things suggested on troubleshooting audio from vista - still no sound. My internet explore keeps reloading when I don't have service pack 2 installed.
What can I do to fix this?Like Nettie63, after SP2 has been installed, my sound on the left and the utility 'fix it' said everything of fine. I tried the fix above with the research of STacSV64.exe that by pasting into the search bar. However, he said that there was no file so I couldn't just double-click on it.
What do you recommend? Thank you very much.

No sound after installing windows 10 MBP 2012
Hello world
Here's what I did.
I have MBP 2012 with El Capitan on it.
I installed windows on this 10. Here are the steps I followed.
- Plist file modified to allow the creation of iso windows 10 on USB for my MBP (PreUSBBoot USBBoot and 2 other usual changes)
- ISO file 10 Windows installed
- Make a key USB bootable but Bootcamp with drivers
- Use disk utility to partition the drive for windows (reason - because it gives error while installing windows, windows MBR EFI only on device TPG error)
- Restarted my MBP used and selected EFI boot option key (as when installing windows in Bootcamp, it gave an error saying no device found startup)
- Installed Windows and driver loaded by installing bootcamp
- Everything works fine but the sound
Tried, but failed
- Clean install of windows if partition bootcamp (error - no found boot device)
- Boot EFI (error - error EFI GPT MBR, windows can be installed only on TPG error)
- Tried the update of drivers for the sound. However, did not
Please help me with the steps to solve this problem. In addition, windows is not activated is there any way through which I can still get windows 10 free.
Change the Info.plist file is incorrect. Your MBP 2012 takes in charge the two, USB and DVD facilities. Please use BCA and remove the current installation. Installation of Windows using boot EFI on a preUEFI machine will cause more problems.

No sound after installing Windows 7 on Satellite Pro U200
Hello
I just installed Windows 7 Professional on my Satellite Pro U200 10 p.
Available for XP Pro.
Sound has stopped working since the new facility (which fromatting the drive - no partition) and can not find a solution. The v6.10.1.6000 of SoundMAX Integrated Digittal HD Audio Driver is installed. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but this doesn't seem to be the right driver. I can't find info to tell me what the correct driver can be either. The Toshiba site is a little sparse on Windows 7 drivers for this model and gives no indication that the driver may be is.
Windows 7 does not think that there is a problem and some reports that "this device works properly." in speaker properties > Configuration information dialog box. However not coming out, the speakers or the 3.5 mm jack
Anyone got any ideas?
Thank you
James
Hello
Go to Device Manager and check what sound chip you have exactly:
Use this statement:
[How to identify an unknown device? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=78]Then you should be able to find a good pilot.
I also recommend remove/delete the sound card in Device Manager.
Just select the audio remove card and press on, and then restart the laptopPS: Are you sure that the sound is not muted? Please check this too!

Satellite A100 (PSAA2E) - no sound after installing Windows XP
I recently installed XP Pro on my laptop. It was previously running XP Home. Now I have no sound. I downloaded the Realtek drivers on the Toshiba site & also tried different drivers from the Realtek site, all without effect. Realtek sound appears in the Manager of devices as "w.orking correctly. Detached & allowing him to be detected again also has no effect. Any advice is welcome.
Hi cvaughan,
Have you installed SP3 for Windows XP? If this isn't the case, you should do it, because it contains important updates for the sound card drivers.
So to remove the current sound driver, install SP3 and then reinstall the audio driver.
