I have the iPod touch 4th, want to go 6th touch.

I have a 4th gen Touch 64 gb but it is from nonsense on me, so I'm looking to get a new gen 6 Touch 128 GB.

I only use iTunes for my music files and have no interest in ever using Apple's music; I don't want to engage the use of the data. All of my future music file purchase would be iTunes as well, I want to continue to use a key as my stand-alone unit of music for my car, stereo, etc.. Anyone see a problem to transfer my current library in a 6th gen? I've never owned an iPod I have now... I never put to day before & want to be sure that I will be able to transfer from the old to the new (if I decide to buy 6th gen).

I've also heard rumors that Apple will be scrapped from iTunes in the near future, forcing all of us to go to the Apple's music... someone have any info on this?

Thank you!

No idea what apple can or can not do (and cannot speculate here in any case)

But I've updated since a 4th gen for a 5th gen, then the 5th generation of a 6th gen perfectly every time

Just be sure to backup via itunes, then when you set up your new choice to "restore from the backup of...» "(your old) and your new will be a close clone of the former.
