  Many laptops have a switch that turns on or off the wireless radio.  This can be a physical switch somewhere on the laptop or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys.  Read the user manual for the laptop for more details.

  Go to your desktop and double-click the file name fixme.reg

  or

  Click Start.

  Type regedit in the search field and press to enter.

  On the registry change windows click on file and select import.

  Navigate to the location where the fixme.reg file and select the file.

  Click ok on the windows screen once the registry is merged successfully.

  Restart computer and check if updates installs.

  I also had iolo which weaken my Windows Installer and I had to uninstall it.

  Help! Last year, Internet Explore kept closing (Data Execution Prevention) so I switched to Firefox, which is great, but since then Windows media Player will not work.   Any other antivirus (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.) has already been installed on this computer?
  When you say 'Nothing' that you tried to install?

  I have an Asus laptop that is about 2 years old.  I am running Windows 8 on a 64 bit system.  The laptop only periodically adjusts and downloads from previous update failed.  Now, when I start it tells me that there are 115 updates to download.  After leaving try and download these all day yesterday, he stopped, display of the progress bar on 99% c, but it will not go further.  I tried the upgrade to 8.1, but will not proceed until the updates are complete.  I had hoped that the 8.1 installation would simply replace previous updates that were needed - apparently not!

  I had to run a System Recovery on my PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I got the disc that came with the computer.  As I did the reinstall, I was not able to update windows.  The procedure starts normally, but nothing else happens.  The Strip-light continues to Flash throughout the night and nothing seems to have been downloaded.  I'm sure there are hundreds of updates available because most of them had been downloaded over the years, I got the computer.   Can I do to fix this?  I used the backup files I did before running reinstall it.  Nothing did.
