I have Windows XP Home Edition and use Outlook Express for my e-mail. Is there a way to copy/send e-mail, favorite contacts and my photos on a Flash key?

Open the address book in the old identity and file | Export | Address book (wab) to any location on your HARD drive that is easy for you. The office is very well. Then drag that to the flash drive.

In IE: File | Import and export | Export to a file. Check Favorites | Next | Next | Navigate to a folder or the desktop and export. Drag the folder in the flash player.

For photos, just right-click on the folder and drag it to the USB and copy here.

  • I have Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional on my computer. I would like to delete the XP Home.

I have Windows XP Home and XP Professional on my computer at home. It creates a nuisance for me and almost every time I restart the computer I need to boot from the CD of XP Professional. I would like to reformat the drive and install only XP Professional only. How do I do that?

I have already backed up some files I have so I have nothing to lose except the two BONES being problematic nuisance

You will need the installation CD. Insert the CD in the drive. Turn on the computer and look at the bottom or top for orders of F. If you have an order for the Boot Manager (usually F12) then keep hitting at the time wherever you turn on the computer. Select the option of CD drive to boot from the CD.

Note: If you do not have a Boot Manager option then you will need to go into your BIOS, sometimes called Setup (key F2 usually). You can get the boot option and change the boot priority. You do not want to move the CD player to the first on this list. Save and restart.

Follow the instructions and when you get to the screen that talks about partitioning, remove the partitions selected with the D key (it will erase all data on a disk (s)). Format using NTFS on the screen following and all simply continue with the installation after that.

  • I have Windows XP Home Edition. How can I find out what model of motherboard, I have installed in my computer?

I have Windows XP Home in my computer, but I want to buy a DVD - RW to burn music. Before buy you, I need to know if it is compatible with my motherboard, but I have no idea how to collect information on the motherboard on my computer. Any help?

    Hello

Assuming that you have a desktop computer, the easiest is to take the side off the pc and read the inscriptions on the motherboard.

If you have a laptop then the way the easiest, if they publish, is to go to the manufacturer's Web site or your manual could tell you.

All this is probably irrelevant because in 10 years of PC building I've never met an internal optical drive which was not compatible. External references could be something else, but as I met usb drives that prevent the start PC, the solution would be to plug in usb after booting.

What you need to consider if you want to burn music is the burning program. Most optical retail drives come with a "light version" of the burning software. For best results you should consider a comprehensive program of recommended.

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3, 32-bit and IE8.  Do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

The upgrade to Windows 7 is a personal decision.  Chances are that if you can do what you need to do on Windows XP then it is 'useless' to upgrade.  If you plan the upgrade anyway, you should first check to see that your hardware is supported under Windows 7.  To do this, Microsoft has provided a program of "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" to run on your current computer.
