I Heart Radio and email blackBerry smartphones

When I'm listening on I Heart Radio and I get an email, the Radio stops.  Is there a setting I can change to keep the radio/music playing when I get an email?  Thank you.

Recently, I tried to use my "BOLD" newly bought in hotels in the United Kingdom and Iceland using local WiFi networks.  In each case, I had a sporadic problem.  I was able to connect to the network and receive e-mails (see another problem later).  However, I could not connecting them to the Internet through the browser.  Whenever I got a message saying: "radio on your device is turned off or the battery is too low for radio in use.  Thus the browser cannot retrieve all of the web pages. "I searched the Help menu but could not find any reference to a 'radio' on my device or how to activate or disable.  The battery on my phone was fully charged.  In each case, the problem solved itself overnight without any intervention from me.  Anyone can shed light on this message?  What is this 'radio' and where/how can I control it?

Once I met the opposite problem.  Again all this use WiFi local hotel not my AT & T network.  I was able to use the browser to access the Internet and could see my POP3 message Internet dérirez system I had messages in my Inbox.  However, no email would download on my device.  It was as if the device cannot connect to the Blackberry site.  I tried to use the e-mail Setup Wizard is to re-register, but couldn't all the details, so I was told my registration attempt.  Yet once the search Help menu, I asked "Files of Service" send for me.  I received the standard message saying does not delete the files from my server.  Receipt of this message seems to open up communication, because I immeiately has received an avalanche of emails on my device.  My question I have to re - register for e-mail whenever I join a new WiFi netwrok?

Finally, my trackball is very slow and unresponsive.  The sales representative AT & T told me that I need to connect and download a new version of the Desktop Manager.  Since I only bought the unit three weeks ago, it does seem I should need an update quickly.  It is correct, or is there another problem?  Should I just a faulty Blackberry?

    Thank you!

  • Activation of email blackBerry Smartphones

Recently, I made some changes to my phone (Visual Voicemail by adding) and emails telling me that my email had been activated by the activatiion back. (I get 3 email accounts on my phone).  I'm starting to wonder if the e-mail is overactivated.

But the real problem is that when I check on my accounts, I like that "you are not in a wireless coverage area.  Well, actually, I am.  Can I use my phone as my wi = fi

    You can't be "overactivated.

It is either active or not active. Looks like you are.

The best solution for communication errors is to restart... Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  • 9300 user - set up email - blackBerry Smartphones baffled - incorrect password error

I hope someone here can shed some light ofn this because I spent 3 weeks trying to solve and I'm still stuck after literally hours on the phone to the network provider and explore every possible potential cause.

About three weeks ago, I upgraded my Curve 9300 BB at 9380.  I copied settings using desktop software preconfigured and transferred to my new camera.  Applications reinstalled fine and I put five e-mail accounts, including 3 (business email) offered in a hosting account with Media Temple.  These all work very well and still do.

My old phone had to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and set all settings at default and follow the procedure for a new SIM card.  When we tried to put in place the enamel on the old device (9300) wouldn't giving the error message Impossible to verify the account contact email provider.  I am the administrator of the e-mail accounts so I know that the settings are correct., network provider resets all settings for email etc and account details BIS etc are all correct.  The e-mail account works through outlook and is accessible via webmail, and we tried changing password and even deleted and created a new e-mail account, but always the same problem - error message telling the user or incorrect password.

I hope that it was a problem with the settings of the old appliance (9300) we could identify and address but it seems not to be that now when I try to put in place a new e-mail account on my new camera (9380) I get the same problem!  User password error - when data are 100% correct and on a device that I have successfully implemented the same type of email account!

I'm completely puzzled and if anyone has or knows a similar problem and has information about this, or has managed to solve, I would like to hear that I've explored everything I can think of network hosts and email.

You must call your provider to find out if the 9300 is properly registered on their network and on behalf of SIM card in the device. They need to confirm the good BlackBerry data Plan on this account, it is not unusual for them wrongly not do or provide incorrect data plan.

  • Delay email blackBerry smartphones

I'm working with a new 8330 and I have two email accounts set up with it, a school account that I used to read with the Entourage and the other a regular g-mail account. No problem with the latter - I get these emails fine. But with the e-mail of the school, I don't get emails on my BB until I have actually go around me and download these messages. As soon as I did that, they pay all at once. I can send emails from the BB with this account very well, but the reception is weird.

A possible complication is that I have badly configured the account the first time, so I deleted it to repeat and correctly configure a second time. I've implemented that address as "myn[email protected]" and while BlackBerry has this folder with my BIS account e-mail address, it still appears as an option for me to send mails to this address (technically identical toMy.N[email protected] ', which is how I set up the second time).

    Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

After deleted and recreated the email address, do you send service books?

Connect to your carriers BIS site and return.

If you do not know the site of carriers BIS send me their name, and I'll send the link.

    Attached are the procedures.

  • Questions on POP/IMAP and BIS blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi all

I have a few questions about defining a blackberry to check your e-mail via BIS.

    1. What is the reasoning behind the creation of blackberry account sometimes POP3 and IMAP the other times? For me, POP3 would be something that you're not on a cell phone.

    2. Why is there no option to choose if you want POP3 or IMAP? I tried to delete the account and add it with an incorrect email address and password in order to get some additional questions during the installation but it does not require if I want POP3 or IMAP.

    3. Because POP3 seems to be an option, is it the same as any other POP3 client for example. Outlook, Thunderbird? What I mean it deletes messages from the server after it downloads? I don't want our users, that have POP3 because their Protocol on blackberry to have their blackberry is the only place where they can get their e-mail.

A few notes on some of the users and the BlackBerry models they have.

All users (as far as I know, there are some office users) have Verizon as their company.

It seems to me the question of POP/IMAP, I do experience is not limited to a single type of model. I have a few users who have the storm, their account has been set up using IMAP, other storm users have been set up as IMAP. I myself have a curve (8330) Mine was installed as IMAP, I recently install an another 8330 users and them was configured as POP3. Another user has a Perl and is IMAP. A user has a global publishing and that is using pop. It seems to me that there is no reason why they choose POP or IMAP.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

    Eric

Hello! I'll try to answer some of this...

    1. What is the reasoning behind the creation of blackberry account sometimes POP3 and IMAP the other times? For me, POP3 would be something that you're not on a cell phone.

... In my humble OPINION the "reasoning" is pure flexibility – to allow a user to access each account type and thus better reflect what they can do on their computer. What about 'if' POP should or should not be on a cell phone, which falls in the pure opinion.

    2. Why is there no option to choose if you want POP3 or IMAP? I tried to delete the account and add it with an incorrect email address and password in order to get some additional questions during the installation but it does not require if I want POP3 or IMAP.

The selection would be a chosen mail server function. Most of the facilities I've seen who have both have separate servers for POP and IMAP for exactly this reason. In addition, some services (GMail comes to mind) allow the user to enable or disable one or both. Instructions for configuring (and be able to direct them to an e-mail specific and, therefore, either POP or IMAP server) are here:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB10154&SLIC...

Non - Default BIS leaves a copy on the e-mail server for both types of integration. If, however, they remove on the BB and have enabled OTA synchronization and are integrated into a consistent account, it will remove from the server. Check this list for how it integrates with different services:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB05133&SLIC...

I hope that this information will help you get at least a step forward for the problems you're having with your users.

  • Using battery and timer blackBerry Smartphones

Hello! I got my curve 8310 since late January and this weekend, the battery was drain much faster then usual even if I barely used the phone. It has been most of the time, but only receive texts and emails so more than usual and until that happened, I had very little battery power.

I loaded 100% last night and it turned off... so not use during the night

Has changed on this morning and showing only 60% of battery!

Also the timer keeps coming back whenever I do anything, never submitted to occur.

I called service provider and they suggested problem of battery, or set of hand or SIM card.

I ordered the new farm and in the meantime, I wanted another comment / helped, because I prefer not to have to send combined for repair, unless it IS the problem since it would mean that I am without a phone for 7-10 days!

A battery pull would help this situation?

Thoughts or comments would be appreciated before decide me what to do if the new battery makes no difference!

    Kind regards

    Gilly

You probably have an application or a couple running in the background. Turn off the unit turns off applications... not a battery pull (when turned on) will be does.

Your battery may also be simply bad calibrated with BlackBerry battery meter. See the information in this link for help on the calibration of the batttery.

The main reason I stayed with a Blackberry is because of the ease of filing of messages. Read the email, tap the message file option and start typing the folder where the message goes (if it has not already guessed) and voila, filed message. I tried all the Apple and Android devices, but after about 5 minutes to scroll through endless folders trying to find where the email needs to go, I give up.

  • Lack of email blackBerry smartphones and call log

I woke up this morning and realized all my emails and calls were missing. After getting over my fustration, I learned that it is because I ran out of memory, so the phone automatically deletes logs.

    So I have two questions:

1: who is the cause of my missing emails and logs?

2: buy a micro sd card would help? Would the logs stored on the sd card or sd card help just for storage media?

  • BlackBerry, change of sim card and ID blackberry Smartphones roaming charges

I did a little research and although have found similar cases, I'm not quite sure if this has been covered completely. Please forgive me if it has.

I'm going abroad in Germany for a year, and it is useless to cancel me my current plan of the monthly British payroll with Vodaphone. As far as I know my blackberry is unlocked at the international level - I put an old, German o2 pay as you go sim in my phone. Seemed to work very well (sign of o2 Germany, received a message on homelessness in the UK, etc.), but I had no credit so couldn't test. I registered again my user ID of blackberry on my home wi-fi. But other that I couldn't do much to verify the extent of my use.

However, I heard various accounts of not being able to use e-mail, internet, wipe the contacts, etc..

If someone could clarify this, here are my questions:

    • If I take my sim UK vodaphone, is anyway I have accumulate roaming charges? Is my blackberry ID, potentially with a new German supplier, related to my old?
    • Will he make any question tries to access my email, bbm, whatsapp, etc., with a different number and in a different country.

One has experience in this area, in Germany (a long shot), Europe or world? It seems that the whole ID blackberry complicates things.

My phone is a Blackberry Bold 9900, AFAIK its software wise update - I have updated today with the "Bundle 2061 7.1" I think.

    Thank you

    J.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are a number of problems to know for what you propose... Here are my thoughts... (Note that I have traveled internationally widely enough with a BB).

If you activate a plan of itinerant international with the support of your home, you should be able to keep your current SIM card in your BB and have all the features anywhere where you are allowed (according to what your home carrier active). Costs are not small in general, but your home operator is the only entity that can tell you if it will work and for how much money. My personal experience with this method was difficult, it took two 'stranded' international travel before my carrier home could properly configure my account for full international roaming I needed. And once my BB was out of my home network, there was nothing else they could do... so the two 'fail' the TRIPS Agreement.

Given that your BB is unlocked, you can use it on other carriers, simply by changing your SIM card. But with BB, it is not quite as simple as that.

No BB does exist (indeed, no device anywhere that I know of) that has all the radio technologies/frequencies within the view are just too many in the world. Thus, your first task is to ensure that your BB has the ability to the same function on the support networks you want to use it on. You must study the capabilities of your specific BB against the requirements of networks you will operate on... you may need to ask those network operators for more details.

If this element is satisfied, which then verifies that you have services at the level of the voice (calls, voice mail, SMS). But for level data services, increase complications.

Each company chooses patterns specific to BB (by model number) that they will promote "automatically". I do not know the carriers that have their network configured to support all the model numbers of BB. If the carrier you wish to automatically use your BB model number on media, then their system will be able to automatically deliver to your BB Service books required in order to activate the BB exclusive services (email, BBM, etc.). But, if their network does not natively support your specific model BB number, then their network is not likely to be able to automatically deliver these Service for your BB books... which will prevent the use of their network BB exclusive services. Again, you must inquire carriers on which you want to run if your specific model BB number is supported by their network for the automatic distribution of maintenance book.

In addition, it is to ensure that your home carrier frees your BB PIN of their system of BIS. A BB PIN can exist in only one carrier BIS system anywhere in the world... so if your home carrier doesn't release him, then the other carrier will not be able to allocate a BIS account for you, and you still won't be able to use services BIS of them. In this case, it is usually a matter of contact your supplier of home and convince them to release your BB PIN of their system of BIS.

If all goes well and all the conditions are met, then it can be quite transparent to switch between carriers, simply by changing your SIM card, ensure that each SIM card includes good BIS Services this carrier of course.
But if anything this either in the chain requirements above fails, it can sometimes be frustrating to make the things work pretty well (reminds me of my two "failed" international travel).

So, with all this as preamble, now to your questions...

Given what you describe, I see no for Vodaphone to charge you roaming charges. Without their SIM in your BB, your BB may not even try to use any resource of Vodaphone. But, you will need to get confirmation of Vodaphone on this point... so that they control all services, billing, etc. for your account. BB services you are subordinate to your main carrier services... you need the services of the main carrier to provide network connectivity services BB riding on this network connection.

    • Will he make any question tries to access my email, bbm, whatsapp, etc., with a different number and in a different country.

There are always opportunities for questions. When you use a different SIM card, you are constrained to some services that provide the SIM. If it does not, for example, BIS level services, then you won't access to people. Similarly, if there is some government restrictions for some services, you can be restricted from that as well. If you get a SIM card with full services of BIS and, as described above, you spent all of the required components that I have listed, then you should be able to have all the services you listed. It is possible that you may need to reconfigure your email... There are stories about these configurations if shattered when change carriers... but the BBID integration is intended to facilitate this exact type of change of carrier, so it should not happen. But don't we can, of course, no promises.

    Good luck!

  • Lost icons on the homepage of Yahoo and Gmail blackBerry smartphones

I need help.  My storm to perform a deletion of the system my number of password attempts failed.  Nice - I know!   However, I went back in and put in password blackberry under the e-mail Configuration.  In the e-mail configuration, it showed the two e-mail accounts.  I checked the passwords and he returned verified.  However, when I went back to the home page icons are missing.  The "Messages" icon is the only icon and it connects all the emails, etc. are popping up here.

Is it possible to restore the icons of Yahoo and Gmail?  the only advantage I see of my dilemma, it is that redundancy is gone with the new account alert message yahoo and new message alert messages.

To prevent this from happening because I lost all my settings, icon positions, etc. I put the Desktop Manager to do an automatic backup.  I assume that this will eliminate the hassle in the future in a computer Pocket wipe or another similar deletion occurs.  Is this correct?  I'm new to blackberry.  My previous smartphone automatically saved and stored all the custom features.

Thanks for the help.   Any thoughts?

Make sure that the icons are not hidden. Just ALT + click on any icon and choose Show all. All the hidden icons will be displayed as being grayed out. If you find the icons of the now, just ALT + click then and uncheck Hide.

Correct the configuration of the backup & restore to backup automatically prevent this in the future because you might just restore from a backup

  • Internet email blackBerry Smartphones account setup for the curve 9320

I bought this new Blackberry Curve 9320, but I'm not sure how to set up my Gmail account in it.

When I click on email accounts in the Setup program, it forces me to activate a business account which I have apparently not. When I click on email Account Management options Messages, a box appears and says "cannot open the e-mail setup application. Contact your wireless service provider. »

You need the BlackBerry data service on your line.  You will need to associate your BlackBerry with your data service account.  And the service books must be pushed and received by the device.  Sounds complicated but it isn't.   Talk to your service provider.  Make sure you have a regular signal good mobile network if you receive service books.   Then use the configuration of e-mail again and you will see the option to add the Internet e-mail.
