  If you perform a complete PC backup image, you should be able to reinstall this image from backup to the new hard drive.

After downloading the software from the HP site I click on run and everything seems to work normally. Once extraction done everything disappears and a prompt appears and says "this program may not have installed correctly" with options for let it be or reinstall using recommended settings. Nothing so far has worked... what could be the problem here.

  I guess that it is the error in the extraction would try so the following alternative method for reinstalling your software MediaSmart - this example is MediaSmart DVD.

  Download the latest installer for HP MediaSmart DVD on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open your download folder, click with the right button on the installer of HP MeiaSmart DVD, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted folder, open src and scroll down until you see the application setup ( 6th in the background with a size of 310 KB ).  This Application Configuration right click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  If installation seems to work fine, once it has completed, restart the computer and see if the program works Ok.

  If so, you can use the same method for all you software MediaSmart.

  I have a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 14-B132TX Sleekbook. My sound disappeared while I was using it a month ago. I called the HP Hotline and Technical Support told me just uninstall it from the Device Manager and when restarted, automatically installs the driver. What I did.

  The sound came back but still once he disappeared after about 15 minutes of use, so I called tech support again and they gave me links to HP support for drivers to download and install which I did and rebooted the computer and the sound came back again. BUT again, the noise has disappeared. I called tech support and they just do a system restore which I did and the sound came back again. But he disappeared again after all just 7 minutes of use.

I cleaned my laptop with CCleaner and went to HP Support Assistant in the hope of getting a solution, there was a statement here to download the QUALCOMM Atheros driver and I installed again the driver said...   Try the following.

  Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

  Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

  After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

If you are unable to install the printer after you perform the steps of scrub provided in the Message 2 of 8 then you will need to back up your data files on this computer, and then run a full system recovery. This will place the PC to the way it was when you bought it. After recovery finished, install the printer before installing any additional software.
