I lost control of my Home Page (s)

Greetings team Firefox,.

I just upgraded to Firefox 12.0, and I have a problem I could use help with. I can't change my home page (s). For some reason, Firefox insists on the use of my current home pages, which are being 6 different web pages. Firefox will not change to the default value, one web site, a blank page or anything else.

I am running Windows 7 X 64 on a laptop.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would definitely appreciate. Thank you very much.

Kind regards
Collie

Hello madperson,.

I glanced at the user.js file and found that it has been damaged. The first character in the first line is a character not consistent and portable choked on it (laptop would not open the .js file). I deleted user.js and Voila! I'm back in business. Thank you very much for your immediate response and excellent advice.

Kind regards
Collie

Some users have accidentally lost their home page and modules using the Refresh function during their update. This can happen when you see a prompt that Firefox is slow at the start and you can speed it up by restoring some default settings. If you click this button, your Firefox settings folder is moved to your desktop in a folder called old data from Firefox. Do you see something like that? • Since the new update of firefox, I lost my pop up blocker and impossible to reinstall, my home page to open when I click on the n of the firefox browser cannot set

Since the new update of firefox, I can't put my home page, it opens to a blank screen, I also lost my pop up blocker and I can't reinstall restore my computer to an earlier point and still can not set my homepage and restore my pop-up blocker. I tried all the suggestions and I still have this problem. Can you help me or do I uninstall mozilla firefox.

    Then:
Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu

      Click the close button

      ).

    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

This question has been asked before but is blocked so I'll have to raise a new query. The original request was:
