I'm due for an upgrade?

Greetings community,

I will have questions to my gears up to what I'm supposed to get wireless.

Let me start by saying a week before, everything was fine. I was on Verizon Fios 50/50 Mbit/s and I was getting pretty close to this reliable speed throughout the House.

Two things have changed: my ISP and the Modem.

My ISP is now TWC with the plan of 200 / 20 Mbit/s, and I bought my own (a Netgear CM600 cable modem).

I have a TC, A1355 (3rd generation) as the router. The TC and the Modem are in the office in a corner of the House.

I also have an Airport Express (2nd generation) to extend the wireless network (bridged mode) located in the heart of the House. It is also used for the audio Airplay through the home theater system.

I also have a second terminal Airport Express (1st gen) located in the children's play room, adjacent to the office. (Exaggeration?)

Currently I have my download speeds are fluctuating from 20 Mbit/s to 70 Mbps... except in the office, I can get up to 120.

After the TWC has been installed, I did a Factory Reset by default on all 3 airports and set up to start from scratch, starting with the TC and work my way down.

All three currencies are on Firmware version 7.6.4.

Any ideas on what I can try to improve the speeds throughout the House?

The 3rd generation TC would be the neck of the bottle?

What would be my best configuration?  (I also note that within the House are 4 iPhones 3 Apple TV, 2 iPad, MBP, an an XBox)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Brian

My wifi in the time Capsule was reduced by half when I got my bump at 300/20 on TWC. I get speeds much better on the 5 GHz band so I the 2.4, but it is still not nearly 300 down. I'm trying to understand if this is a limitation of the TC, or another problem altogether. By ethernet, I have almost 350 down. Like you, he is inconsistent depending on where I am in the House. I have a 5th gen Airport Extreme to carry the rest of the way wifi.

  • Is CS5 due for an upgrade?

I ask this question because I was a little late buy CS4 and when I had it right up and works on my XP sp3 machine, they have highlighted CS5. Add to that the fact that I bought a new Win 7 machine, then found CS4 had some compatibility issues and I was not a happy Bunny. Fortunately, I kept my XP machine and still use it for web work.

After having been a user of Dreamweaver and Fireworks since version 3 - (not CS3) and using the two together for the design of websites, it seems that I am is longer supported by Adobe. There is no way economic upgrade for my CS4 Web Standard, and prices in the United Kingdom are well above U.S. prices. I don't want bitten you twice!

So until I get the cheaper way to buy a copy of Dreamweaver stand-alone, and use Fireworks CS4 to produce the graphics, I need to be sure that the next version of the upgrade is not just around the corner.

Can someone tell me when the next version is scheduled for release?

TBH the small size of the provided update really means that you will get what most people need to CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6 etc etc as they will. If you went with CS5 compatibility at this time, he would continue to do the same thing, that this right now and the same thing did it all earlier versions.

What I'm trying to say is if its for something else that the compatibility is not a justifiable upgrade path, a fortiori an economical!

  • From what I read, if I buy a commercial version full of windows 7, I am not eligible for the upgrade of $14.95 to windows 8 in about 6 months.

I'm about to buy a computer with 16 GB of memory. I'll of course need a 64 bit OS, it looks like a good time to switch to windows 7, XP. But windows 7 seems to have a very short life span. The OEM version is eligible for a special download offer upgrade $ 14.95 to windows 8 that seems due Q1 2013, but it seems that the retail version is not eligible for this offer? Like many people I do not upgrade OS every time is out. But why would I pay for an OS which is replaced in 6 months?

    Huh?

14.99 reduction is a limited offer in time when you buy a new computer between June 2, 2012 and on January 31, 2013, with Windows 7. By October 26, 2012, the PC of all major manufacturers will come preloaded with Windows 8. The thing, it is likely to be the inventory on the market with Windows 7 for a while of OEM brand. If a consumer buys one of them, they should have the eligibility for the upgrade of Windows 8.

Of course, you can buy the new computer with Windows 7 pre-loaded, acquire the Windows 8 upgrade what becomes availalable and install it at your leisure and activate it whenever you're ready.

Yes, the retail version of Windows 7 is not eligible for the upgrade 14.99 discount, but you can get an updated copy of Windows 8 Pro for 39.99 beginning October 26, 2012 and ending on January 31, 2013.

  • Advice/cost for the upgrade of MacBook Pro memory

I have a mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro. It has 2 GB of RAM and I want to update 8 GB of RAM. I heard it is expensive to have Apple install memory, but I really do not trust myself to install it alone! Does anyone have an idea of what it would cost (for the work of Apple and memory) for this upgrade? And if no Apple, anyone have any suggestions for qualified but cheaper alternatives? Thank you!!

    Dailey,

You can upgrade RAM yourself at a reasonable cost.

  • Satellite L40 - 14N - RAM who do I take for an upgrade?

    Hello, I have a Satellite L40 - 14N with 1 GB of RAM, and I'm using Vista.

I have been informed that a bit more RAM would be better so I think to upgrade. On the Toshiba product page, it says that the maximum is 2 GB, and now I'm wondering if it is better to get a key of 1 extra GB or to replace the 1 GB with a 2 GB one?

    Hello

Satellite L40 - 14N supports up to 2 GB of RAM maximum, you said.

You buy an extra RAM or you replace the 1 GB with a 2 GB module. It s you according to what you do.
In your case I would buy an additional 1 GB module because it does not cost so much and I n t see a reason why you should use a single module.

For the upgrade, you need a memory SO-DIMM PC2-5300 Module.

    Welcome them

Product keys are not sold without installation media.

Don't buy product keys for sites that sell just a product key - they are not authentic.

You can buy Windows 7 Upgrade here (or at a local store):

There is no discount on a second license of Windows 7 If you already have a Windows 7 license.

  • I want to install Windows 7 to be able to play DVDs, I have to pay for the upgrade?

    installation of Windows 7

Hi, I am running Windows XP and I would like to install Windows 7 in order to play DVDs.  I pay for the upgrade?  I am not very computer, is - this easy to install so free.
    Thank you
    JO Smith

First of all, you need not to install Windows 7 to play the DVD.  WinXP is perfectly capable of reading DVDs, as long as you have a DVD drive and the drivers appropriate devices and Codecs installed.

Yes, if you want to upgrade to Windows 7, you will need to buy at least a license upgrade.  However, the "ease" of the upgrade process is relative, based almost entirely on your level of knowledge and skills.  In general, the process is fairly automatic: just observe the instructions on the screen.

You should, before you continue, make sure that your computer is able to support Windows 7, and that the manufacturers of all connected devices (printer, scanner, webcam, etc.) have provided drivers for devices on Windows 7 for these items will continue to work.
