I got it fix executed yesterday from 09:00 to 23:00 last night just on this one issue. The green bar moving across the screen to indicate that something was happening. However at 11 pm last night, I had to shutt off the PC. No idea what elese I can try that the computer runs pretty slow.

There is nothing showing in the trash when I click on explore but when I put in the cell some files I didn't, but there was still nothing showin in the tray. I checked the properties to make sure that the parameter was not set to remove permentally, which was set to normal of any idea

  • Why is automatically emptied the trash on my email account?

My emails used to be saved in the trash and I kept for future reference. Now, they simply disappear. Is there a setting I can change to change this?

Re: my e-mails used to be saved in the trash and I kept for future reference.

"Trash" is for the items you want. "Basket" means "Rubblish' to be scrapped; throw; Remove.

They are only in the Trash because you selected the 'delete' or you move them manually.
The reason for having a 'Trash' folder is to act as a stop gap because sometimes you might delete an email by mistake and want to save.

File basket is not the place to store the items you want to keep.
Please create new folders to organize your wanted emails.
    Use "Basket" to unwanted emails.

Trash (also known as "Deleted") can be automatic out empty on if the option is selected.
Tools > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings
    or
Menu icon > Options > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings

Uncheck the box / select as appropriate: "empty the trash when leaving.
    Click OK.

If you have an Imap email account, there may be a different policy, used by the server. Some auto Recycle Bin empty periodically by default and there is nothing you can do about it. After all, Trash is for unwanted items, then after a time saving an email deleted by mistake, they clear this folder to create more space.

    Background information:
When you choose to delete an email or put it in the "basket", from your point of view varies for example: Inbox to "trash".
In reality, it is always in the Inbox as an email "marked as deled" hidden from view. So it is still too much space in the Inbox.
When you compact your Inbox folder those "marked as deleted" are removed, freeing up a space.

When you see a folder in the folders pane, it is in fact a mbox file (assuming that you Pop mail account or synchronize subscribed imap folders).

When e-mail messages are downloaded they are not stored as individual .eml files, they are stored one after the other in the order they have been downloaded in the same "file". If you do not want to put all your e-mails in one or a couple of files.
Create folders to organize messages into subsets.
Archives of old messages to free up space in regular used folders.
    See the info on archiving.

  • Empty the trash CAN´t

    Hi all

    I have the following problem:

I have some files in the trash can´t be deleted. When I try to empty the trash, I get the message... Cannot delete because the files are in use. File names contain non-standard characters, but I could rename their 'a', 'b' and so forth, then the files were deleted, files not - they are still displayed. On the terminal that they (folders!) do not appear, that is, the command "ls - al 'displays only the default directories'. 'and'.. 'in the folder'.» The basket", but the Finder displays the directories.

When you start in safe mode the Finder displays an empty the trash (?). I have tried almost everything, including:

    • "chflags-r nouchg" and tips on the Apple web page
    • rm - rf ~ /. Trash / * (in combination with sudo)
    • Remove ".". Basket"and made a new folder. Trash
    • etc etc.

far "files from the Recycle Bin" in the "." Trash"are still alive when to start normally. Does anyone have an idea of what has past and how can I get an empty the trash can again?

    Greetings from the Germany

    Mike

Please, open the Recycle Bin and select the items that you cannot delete. Make a right click or Ctrl-click. In the context menu, select

    Delete immediately...

    Confirm when prompted.

  • Failure to empty the trash...!

I trashed my disk backup files hard Time Machine backup.

I think it has to do with the problem.

I am unable to empty the trash.

Receive an "error code - 50".

I tried all the steps suggested here on this forum (Terminal, Trash, etc.), does not.

    I'm desperate!

Someone from Apple can tell me what is the ULTIMATE solution to empty my trash...?

    Will be well appreciated.

    Thank you.

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

    My ultimate solution:

    -Bought the app "Carbon Copy clone". ;

    -Copied my entire "boot disk (Macintosh HD 1)' on an external HDD (Ext Mac);

-Using "Disk utility", cleared and mounted my "Startup disk (Macintosh HD 1).

-Launched "(Mac Ext) as my boot drive: Trash was... EMPTY!"

    -Help "Carbon Copy Cloner", copied "Ext Mac" on "Macintosh HD 1";

-Launch 'Macintosh HD 1' as my 'startup disk': Trash was... EMPTY!

    Useful tips:

1 / never, never trash the files/folders from your backup of "Time Machine" in the trash...

    2 / download the app "Carbon Copy Cloner", it's only $39.99 (€36.00)...

  • Cannot eject my external drive after emptying the trash

I have a very specific question and I was wondering if someone else he met.  This is for Windows XP.  If I delete a file from my external USB drive (happens to all readers regardless of the brand, size, etc.) and empty the trash, I can't remove the disc.  This only happens with this particular scenario
but so far is happening on 2 PC's, I have at home.

I checked for file handles and there is no open file handles.  I tried to wait a while but still not good.  My only solution is to shut down the PC and remove the disc.

It would be great if I can find a solution to this problem very weird.  Thank you all.

    Hi SharynZH,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. did you of recent changes to the computer?

You can try the following steps and check if it helps to fix this problem.

    Step 1:

    a. go to control panel and double click on "Folder Options".

    b. Select "Show files & hidden folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"

    c. click on "Apply" or "OK".

    d. go to your D: drive, find the $RECYCLE. BIN folder, right click > delete

    e. then go back to Folder Options and change the settings back

    f. restart your computer and check.

    Step 2:

If you still experience the problem, then try to run a sfc scan that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

  • Put the files in the trash, empty the trash, and then doing some other stuff, and then when I couldn't find the files again, I reinstalled windows vista... now I need/want these files

I sent files to the trash, and then I emptied the trash, and then realized that I only need/want these files, so I went to look for them, then screwed up everything while doing so somehow a shortcut on my desktop, then I put in the disc to reboot/reinstall the entire system windows vista... can we recover these items , or they are gone forever?

I don't know what kind to reinstall you did.  If it was a repair/upgrade, you may be in better shape (fact he preserve your data and programs after the re - install - then you have made the right kind of re - install).

If you did a reinstall to repair/upgrade and if you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky.  They have so-called saves shadow copies, which are deleted or modified files that can be recovered in case changes/deletions made by mistake.  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx more information about how to use this feature to: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=145.

If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, shadow copies is not available; However, there is an alternative that is free and the shadow copies feature called Shadow Explorer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/recover-files-with-shadow-copies-on-any-version-of-windows-vista/.  Although it will not help you this time, it could very well save you in case this happens again.

If this does not work, here are a few free recovery programs that might help (if you did a lot for the system, because the files have been deleted, then chances are that less as they might otherwise be - see notes below):

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.html (first try Recuva)

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/DiskDigger.html

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/easusdfr.html

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/restoration.html

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/downloads/Recuva/dlrecuva.html

    http://www.SoftPerfect.com/products/FileRecovery/

    http://techpaul.WordPress.com/2008/06/23/how-to-recover-your-lost-files/

The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace the data that you are trying to recover.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some or most or even all files - it's a matter of luck).  The fact that you did a re - install is not good for what is successful, - but it's worth a try.

Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they generally offer no guarantees.  The decision is yours.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Windows 7 takes forever to empty the trash

When I delete the file it takes forever to empty the Recycle Bin on Windows 7
Something must be wrong, for example, it will take nearly 7 minutes to empty the trash containing 2 GB!

I feel that I did something wrong because my first installation of windows 7 this problem does not occur

    Thank you

    Zvika

    Hi Zvika,

If running Chkdsk (according to the post of Ramesh Kumar) does not help, you can determine whether this problem is caused by third-party shell extensions. You can use ShellExView from Nirsoft to work.

  • When I try to access a web site, it goes into a cycle of "waiting on windows 8 or 3 pro surface and cannot empty the trash.

I have some problems with a new surface pro 3.

    A. when I try to access a web site, it goes into a vicious circle of "waiting for...". That does not stop

    b. I can't empty the trash or delete a file downloaded my wife. I just get a "not responding".

    c. when I try to access the files on any mobile device, for example Flash Player, it is reported there is no files when I know there are many

    any suggestions?

    Dr

I'm not sure that these are related between them, but

A: open the options of IE, on the connection tab, click on "Network settings" and make sure that everything is disabled (off), then reboot and see if it helps.

B: what process stops responding when you click the delete key?

C: it may simply mean that the file permissions are not configured to allow you to access the files on a flash drive.  Do you know if there are security settings applied?
