I'm running Win 7 (64-bit) and tries to access a printer (HP Laserjet 6 p) on a home network

Computer on the network where the printer is installed is running Win 2000 Pro.
Sharing is enabled on both, but cannot print. Troubleshooting utility was not to define and solve.
Desperately need help.
Thanks and congratulations to my Savior.

This should work for you as well as it did for me:
http://www.SevenForums.com/network-sharing/7527-networking-printer-attached-win-XP-PC-win-7-a.html>

It is said to Win7 and WinXP, but I was able to use it for a mixed network of WinXP (x 86), Win7 (x 86 & x 64) and Win8 (x 64). I can't imagine W2K is very different, or not at all. My printer is connected to the WinXP machine. If your PC Win7 a driver, there is a Windows Update available.

  • What version of Firefox options do I have to use Firefox on the new laptop running Win 7 64 bit, and how do I move bookmarks current laptop running Firefox 3.5.13 again laptop?

Currently running on the laptop using Windows XP pro sp3 Firefox 3.5.13 and want to move my favorites to a new laptop. New laptop using Win 7 pro 64 - bit OS. I've read too many conflicting reports on Firefox and Win 7 and Firefox works on a real 64 - bit version. What are my choices for a stable browser for the new laptop and what specific version of Firefox is recommended, and the advantages and disadvantages of this suggestion? (I think we can run Firefox 32-bit version in the 64-bit environment, but which is the best choice?) I have not installed Firefox on the new laptop yet and am eager to dump IE. It is displayed for my old laptop. Thank you...

Mozilla working on a 64-bit version of Firefox, but it's a way off. Currently, the only release versions are 32-bit, and the next major version will be also only 32 bits.

I recommend that you install the latest version of publication (3.6.10) available since http://www.mozilla.com/

To copy bookmarks, follow the procedure described in the article restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer to save a json file, you can import (restore) on the new laptop. You can copy more bookmarks, for details, see back up and restore the information contained in the Firefox profiles and backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base Profile. The last link includes a third-party utility that can make the process easier.

  • Installing the printer on Win 7 64 bit and D-Link DPR-1260 print server

I have been using a print server D-Link DPR-1260 to my home network for more than 1 year. The computers were all run XP XP3 32bits. When I upgraded to WIn 7 64 bit, I have problem printer installation. Both printers are Samsung scx-4521 laser MFPS and laser color CLP-315. The drivers are already installed on my computer and I was able to print if they were directly connected via USB. I also could see DPR-1260 and the printer. But installation stopped, because it was not able to find the proper drivers. It's strange because I was able to print via USB. Help please. I have not upgraded other computers even though I only install the 32-bit version instead of 64-bit for others.

I tried this fix as well, however it allows me to select the folder in which I think that the pilot is located inside.  Basically, it can not find the 64-bit driver... alternatives?

to connect to the d-link printserver 1260, you have to treat it as a network with a device server. Here's what you will need the name of the print qeue and ip address. and a COMPATIBLE printer, who is in the list of d-link1260 that they have a better list on their Web site... www.Dlink.com
' 1. goto devices and printers "in the start menu
    2. at the top click on "Add a printer" If you can't find it in the list of devices below.
    3. then choose "add a network printer".
    4. next hen click on 'stop' click 'the printer that I want isn't listed.
    5. Select 'Add a printer using a tcp/ip address or hostname' click 'next '.
    6. Select the type of device and enter the ip address be 192.168.0.xxx, a window will open and ask more
port information, click on "custom" at the bottom.
7 when the sub menu opens choose "LPR" and then enter the name of the print queue of the printer I also checked "bytes active cash LPR" click 'next' you should not do this. that is my name of the queue was ml-2010. You can get this in the dlink1260 configuration page.
    8. the next page will ask you to printer driver. If the list is not current, then 'windows update' first try the updated list for the models more that it will take a few minutes will be patient.  or you can try the driver for the model that you ever I recommend download the latest drivers from your manufacturer... Select make the printer on the left and the right MODEL. then click Next
you're done if you can print a test page.

his best guys to assign a static IP for dpr print server 1260 and lock it in the configuration. also book this IP in your router configuration. for 64-bit systems a lot of pilots was not yet available from this list you can get them now. I suggest using BASIC pilot not those in a package with all demonstration... are HP most likely to be used in the configuration of this installation as I said in the beginning make sure you have a printer supported by the list of compatible printers found here dlink.com veryfying...

  • Win 7 64 bit and Z22 synchronization with the Aceeca drivers problem

Toshiba Satellite A205 desktop Acer Win 7 64, Palm Z22

I have 2 computers (desktop and laptop) running win 7 64.  I was happy when I came across the message that a pilot had been created for the 64-bit version.  I followed the instructions and my office to synchronize with my Z22 - works great!  I'm having a problem with the laptop.  It is a little more and was vista forms upgraded to Win 7 64.  I downloaded the Palm desktop program and followed the Setup instructions for the Aceeca drivers.  When I try to Synch - it hangs to sync to Addit - 9 of the 12 completed.  Program office (on the laptop) actually hangs and I have to use the Task Manager to close it.  It says address book has been done, but nothing appears.  I deleted all the software (office and drivers) and reinstalled 3 times and I get the same problem.  I'm only really interested in my address book.  I suppose I could use an export/import from the desktop to the laptop with a flash drive, but I would like to be able to synchronize the phone with the Z22.  Device manager incicates the unit is running correctly on both computers.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to the Hotsync Manager and change the setting of conduit for Addit ' doing nothing '.

Addit has been dead for many years now.

  • Dual boot Win 7 64 bit and XP Pro 32-bit (win7 installed first)

How can I set up: dual boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and Windows XP Pro 32-bit (Windows 7 installed first)? I have Win7 on a 2 terabyte HARD drive, with another 1 terabytle internal HARD disk and two 1 terabyte external hard drives. I have an Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20 GHz, 20 GB of RAM. I want to keep Win7 on 2 TB drive and add WinXP on the other 1 TB internal drivw in a configuration dual-boot. The other two drives 1 TB external would be used for backups and data. I would like to be able to boot XP because I have many applications running on XP wothout having compatibility problems.  The two Win 7 and XP are complete versoins. Or that I would be better to try a virtual configuration?

Are you aware that you can install the free XP mode on your Windows 7 system?  Once installed, you can launch in 15 to 30 seconds as a task under Windows 7 and run your XP applications without having to reboot.  It works fine as long as you can live with the graphics.  The graphics of XP Mode are great for business applications.  This would be my first choice.

You will probably get the positions, which suggests a way to install XP and then download a program or two and patch in some places.  But for me it's much simpler to just create a small partition of 30 GB and make a 30-minute "quick and dirty" installation of a second absolutely minimal copy Windows 7 in there.  This will get all start after installing XP, if you decide to go this route.  It's not like intelectually sophisticated as more involved patchwork approach, but it is faster and easier.  As my professor of chemistry at first year said "anyone can make things complicated; He needs to make things simple.  I think the professor was very clever!

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

No, there is no way to do it. You can move the data to the new computer
but you can't do anything with the installed Windows 32-bit or the
installed program. Everything must be installed from scratch.

  • NB550D - best way to install Win 7 64-bit and 64-bit drivers

    Hello

I improved my NB550D to Windows7 Home Premium and installed 4 GB of RAM.
This works much better, but want to go further and make a Windows7 Ultimate _64bit_ _clean install_ in order to take full advantage of theupgrade in RAM.

My question is: what should I do about the Toshiba drivers for 64-bit? I guess I'm going to need some?

What is the best way to go about the upgrade - any help will be appreciated! : D

If you need to switch to Win 7 64 bit, then you need some Win 7 64 bit drivers.
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find some 64-bit drivers, but it seems that not all Toshiba for Win 7 64-bit tools are released.

Drivers for WLan or BT stack can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/

Other drivers or Toshiba tools such as value added package or Face Recognition, Eco utility and others could be used with other series of portable for example by Satellite C660D or others such as L750D, L755D or C670D
Surely you must pay attention to the integrated graphics chip, the LAN or the chipset
Use the drivers that are released for fleas in NB550D
