I'm scanning old 3 and 1/2 by 3 and 1/2 inch photo in Windows Live Photo Gallery to download in Facebook. Anyway is to enlarge?

I'm scanning old 3 and 1/2 by 3 and 1/2 inch of photographs in the Windows Photo Gallery to download in Facebook.  The image is still smaller than the original. Is it possible to enlarge?  I tried to enlarge preview before scanning, but they are too small for that.

Thanks for your help volunteer J.,.

While I did not download the Prish Image Resizer.

(Operating system: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8)
(the name of the 32-bit file is: 32bit_PrishResizer_2519.msi)
(for 64 - bit file name is: 64bit_PrishResizer_2519.msi)
I read through the articles you have listed and tried all the things they mentioned.

What was most useful in the articles, have been discussions to crop images in part overview before you actually complete the scan.  I then tried pulling handles resizing/cropping right up to the edges of my picture and then scanned. Voila! Who did it!  I got the whole picture, full size-problem solved.  It would be really useful if explained in the directions of scanning to make sure that the edges of calibration were tight around the image/document being scanned-it really makes the tower.  Your info made me think in the game of the mind. Thank you!!! Connie
