I'm trying to recover space on my hard drive

I'm trying to recover space on my hard drive.  In my windows directory, there are a number of directories $xxxxx - 98 overall.

a $hf - mig$ dir. (1gig).
a dir $MSI31uninstallxxxx;
a $ServicePackUninstall$;
a dir $NTServicepackUninstalIDMIxxxx;
a $NTServicePackUninstallNLSDxxx;
and 93 $NTUninstallxxx directories.
Also the directories of ie7 and ie8 directories (and updates directories)
In addition, more than 2,000 points in the system32 and its subdirectories directory.
Can I remove one of these safe?

Thank you
David E.

    When you add items to a project can then remove the clips?  I'm trying to free up space on my hard drive. Thank you.

    Not while you're still editing the project.  When you have completed the project and shared it and are sure that you do not want to do any editing more far, you can delete the whole project.

    If you do a significant amount of iMovie editing you really need to put your libray (ies) on a large external hard drive.  Another thing you can do is to divide your work between different libraries and move those that are not currently on a removable drive.

    With the indicator largeaddressaware under your 64 bit OS, it is possible for FS9 to use up to 4 GB of address space.

  • on my iCloud drive files take up space on my hard drive?

    I'm always running out of space on the hard drive of my MacBook Pro. The most important issue seems to be the library and Documents Mobile is the largest. But when I look inside I find the name of the folder as if by magic going on MacBook Pro / My Files / Library / Mobile Documents for MacBook Pro / My Files / library / iCloud Drive.  I thought that the purpose of paying extra for space on my iCloud drive should free up space on my hard drive.

    Am I what's on my hard drive on my laptop iCould mirroring drive?  Is there a way to stop this?

    iCloud is a synchronization system, not an external 'hard drive '. If you delete them from your computer, they will delete icloud.

    This space is about 7 GB, and seems to be unused.
    Can I create a partion second on this space or perhaps used by special services of Windows XP Home edition?

    (found this space after the installation of third-party backup/restore program)

    Hello

    Well, if you have a free space on the HARD drive if you want, you can create a two or three partitions. New partitions can have different sizes. In this case, I propose to use the magic of Partitions. This tool is very nice and easy to use and has many useful features.
    Try it.

    After you import an image (.jpeg) file for the Photos on my Mac app, can I safely delete this image file to save space on my hard drive?

    Yes, you can remove the file from the imported image, if you have imported the image as managed.  IE preferences in ave Photos settled on "import: copy items to the photo library" being the default.

    Hello, manoj0910.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

    Looks like you can't synchronize the pictures located on your external drive.  I need a little more information about your configuration to provide a better answer.  However, we will try to sync your photos through the section of the file through the article below.  You just need to direct iTunes to where your photos are stored on your external drive.

    If your photos are in a folder

    1. Select "Choose a folder" from the context menu.
    2. Choose the folder where you store your photos.
    3. Click on apply.

    You can arrange photos in subfolders to create photo albums.

    Sync photos from your computer to your device iOS through iTunes

  • Deleted files are still too much space on my hard drive, how to make their deleted permanently?

    I deleted a large file containing about 60 gigs of my hard drive by sending to the trash and empty the collector, because the car was full.  All files were gone, my computer does not recognize free space and won't let me not defragment the hard drive or save any new data on the hard drive, saying that he is too full.  What should I do?

    Either you have an application that saves you from yourself (Norton used to have what we call the "Norton Protected Recycle Bin" which has given a second chance to restore files) or if you have something else take place.

    Did you restart after having emptied the Recycle Bin?

    Have you run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)

    Assuming that the answers to the two questions above is Yes and you are still weak on the disk, download and run JDiskReport, space that will graphically show you what files are taking up space on your hard drive.  For more advice, post back with the identification of the culprits.

    If you do not have enough space to install JDiskReport (about 2 MB), here are some ways to save space:

    • Turn off System Restore (right-click on desktop > properties > system restore > check the 'Disable the the system restore on all drives' > OK)
    • Disable Hibernation (Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernate > uncheck > OK)
    • Disable the Indexing Service (instructions here)

    When you turn the system restore, make sure that only your system (usually C:\) partition is monitored and then click the settings button in the System Restore tab and adjust the amount of space used by restoring the system to 1 GB.
