sensitive touchpad

My new Dell Inspiron running Windows 7.  Like others on this forum, I am frustrated that my cursor moves to the location of the mouse pointer when I type.  If the pointer is in the body of my text, what that I type go.  If the pointer is on a function in the toolbar, this feature is enabled.  It seems that this happens at random, when my wrists resting on the palmrest and when I resist them.  Dell has replaced my drivers with their latest version of the software.  Then they sent a technician to replace my keyboard.  Then they tried other drivers, including "Synaptics" for Vista.  The problem persists.  Now, Dell will replace my touchpad, but I'm not optimistic that will work.  Help!  It makes me crazy!  (the problem occurred seven times I typed this message!)

Hello

Check with those in the Dell forums since it is a known problem.

Control Panel - mouse - look for mice and paved touch settings here.

Some systems also have a Touchpad control program that is running in the Notification area - low
right next to clock (used to be called Systray).

I hope this helps. Rob - bicycle - Mark Twain said it is good.

  • More sensitive touchpad? Vibrating and shaking cursor?

TouchSmart tm2 2010eg. Sometimes the cursor starts shaking and vibrates a little, sometimes when I flip the screen, sometimes just like that. If he does, I can literally "throw the cursor on" shaking the computer. If I move the computer, the cursor is still more fragile. When I then make a very rough gesture to the slider, like putting my hand flat on the Panel, the shaking may stop.

I am still under warranty, is it a hardware problem I should require HP Technicans set?

I noticed that the problem occurent more frequently when the screen is completely reversed, so I thought it must be electricity touchpads interfering with the capacitors of the screen. Turn it off with the appropriate command (synclient on Linux) has solved this problem.

I still want to know HP if it is expected behavior and that the newer models have the same 'problem '.

    Thank you.

  • Toshiba NB200 Touchpad not smooth?

I bought a Toshiba NB200-10Z this week and I am satisfied with my purchase, very elegant. The only thing is that if my fingers are dry the touchpad feels a little rough smoothly, by sliding your finger over it. But if my fingers were a little moisture on its fine and smooth to use. Everyone is faced with this problem? I don't think it's a problem with mine individually I think it's the texture of the touchpad.

    Thank you

    Hello

I never noticed this issue with touchpad surfaces.
If you are talking about the touchpad feature then I would recommend checking the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse
Here, you can edit and assign different options that could help you make the most sensitive touchpad

  • Satellite T110-107: touchpad problem - pointer move sometimes

    Good afternoon everyone,

Currently I have a series of Satellite T110-107 and have problems with the touchpad.

I start the computer and the touchpad works very well for a few seconds, after that, the touch pad stops working to full capacity.
If I wander my fingers on the touchpad and the pointer does not move, sometimes it will move up and down, but not as it should.

It is a common problem, or is it a hardware problem... or is it the fact that I'm just not accustomed to having the correct settings on windows7?

All help reveal be great, because it's very frustrating!

    Kind regards!

    Hello

I found a few tips and tricks that you should try.

First, you must change the sensitive touchpad settings to lower the level.
Go to control panel-> mouse and all the settings for the touchpad to the value has a less sensitive level.

You should also right click Synaptics Pointing Device (in the taskbar) and get in the middle of the page Double click speed on.
Move the slider to half way down the beach. This should help you too.

Last but not leas, you will need to disable zoom pinch.
Go to the icon in the lower right corner Synaptics pointing device, click on 'The pointing device properties', click on the "Device settings" tab, then the settings button. Uncheck "Enable Pinch Zoom" under "Pinch Zoom".

Have you noticed the same thing with the external USB mouse?
If the problem is the same using the USB mouse and touchpad then the issue is NOT related to the touchpad, but maybe other reasons may be that the system is overloading or the operating system may be corrupt.
Have you tried new installation of the OS?

    Hello @ginnykins

What browser are you using when this happens?

Usually, the random clicks or the keys in a browser are the result of a sensitive Touchpad.

If you go to settings > devices > mouse and touchpad > Additional options of the mouse and choose the Clickpad settings tab, click the button settings ClickPad.

Under the MultiFinger gestures, uncheck the Pinch Zoom. You maight need to disable two fingers scrolling too.

Click OK, and then click OK again.

If this doesn't help, go back and look under, uncheck tapping finger two, three and four.

In the dialog of settings for mouse and pad touch, you can change the list of drop-down Touchpad to Long delay sensitivity.

It be a sensitivity slider, but Microsoft did disappear in Windows 10 now.

Let me know if it helps.

  • laptop HP pavilion 17 64-bit: draw lines on your desktop

can someone explain how to draw lines on the desktop? I am currently working on a project that requires lines to be drawn on some of the pictures on the desk. to make things more complicated, I don't use a mouse, and my computer has not left and right click buttons! He has a very sensitive touchpad, so there is not to hold a left or right button as possible on most computers. so, for the moment I tenderly your help there, to try to solve this problem. If there is a solution, that is! I have to admit that this is something new for me, but you live and learn to do not you?

Thank you very much in anticipation.

Glad to hear the clicks of mouse work for you about the graphics program, it seems that you need something which will give you a fairly accurate line length measurement while you draw the line is - that correct? Photoshop Elements can meet your needs. In my opinion, it costs about $80.

In Photoshop Elements, while using the online tool, it gives you a measure of angle in real-time and (to the thousandth inch) length of the line you draw. Here is a picture to demonstrate:

Only a slight glimpse of the line appears while you actively draw, then the complete line appears after you release the mouse button. You can customize the line to any desired pixel width. Each new line creates a new layer 'Shape' on top of your image, which can then be resized or moved or otherwise handled, according to the needs.

I hope this helps. Your assignment seems deceptively simple please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

  • Old Acer Aspire 5538 BIOS Flash?

I got an Acer Aspire 5538 for quite a while, my mother got to me as a gift. Recently, however, I was playing some good old Halo: THIS when the screen went black. He was still, was not showing anything. He had this whole "glow" you would see if a screen was turned on, but does not display anything. I thought, oh maybe that I was fired for a reason, and the game somehow crashed. I restarted the computer and it starts normally. I decided to play Halo 2, the Collection Master Chief being days of release. The screen is the same question as before, thought itself, well, "just won't work today...". Well. ill just it reboot and play some Xbox 360 ". Sfter that last stop, the computer has been seriously f * ked up. The POST screen wouldn't show it at all, no beeps (unless low battery, battery has been useless for years), nothing. The screen never even turned on at all. The fans were running thin, hard drive worked, CD player was fine. Just nothing put into service. never. Ive had this problem for several weeks now, and ive tried and failed the following:

    -Connect external monitor

-put the new BIOS files on USB, now Fn + ESC key during power (USB drive does not receive any current until Windows is upward)

-with the help of other hard drives

-removal of RAM, HARD drive, battery, etc. for 5 minutes, then re - insert and tries to start.

-put the files of the BIOS on a blank CD and insert it in the computer during startup

All the things above have failed, I looked for a tutorial on how to Flash the BIOS, but found nothing. I can't send in for repair, the warranty has expired, and there is no recipt (because it was a GIFT). I guess that the LCD screen was messed up, but when I was just trying to power on & power off the unit for signs of life, once the screen actually came. The hard drive and RAM were both, so I had to stop and put back them in. The unit showed no sign of life other than fully sensitive TouchPad disabler, power button, fans spinning, HDD from hum, etc. There has been no beeps, except when the battery is low.

Please, someone tell me. What is the problem with my laptop?

I also can't afford a new one, so please do not suggest that.

  • Can not scroll__When typing the cursor will move to an another ling

I have problems the scrollable - cannot scrolling on web pages and documents.  I can use the scroll bar, but not the scrolling of the mouse (laptop).

Also, when I type my cursor moves to another line or on the same line - I do not know why?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Scrolling: scrolling of the laptop requires supporting the drivers provided by the manufacturer. This is probably not installed. Find them in the web site of the manufacturer.

For jumping: Control Panel/mouse/pointer Options tab, check the line to hide the cursor when typing. This is a common problem when the sensitive touchpad of your laptop errors brushes by the user thumb pads.
