I need help with possible graphics card on my HP Pavilion Media Center TV PC m1800n failure

I'm not computer savvy, but I think I can be faced with a problem of graphics card.  My HP Pavilion # is GC673AA-ABA m8100n and the graphics card on my computer model is NVIDIA GeFOrce 6150SE.  These days through a PC game, the screen becomes blurry and has funky lines.  I also had an accident where the screen turned blue and I had to stop holding the power button until it is turned off.   Have not fallen since then, I am now having the screen blurred when the game sat for awhile.      If I had to replace the graphics card should I just put in the same one that has the computer?  I'm afraid that if I try to upgrade to a graphics card plus other things have to be upgraded as well to make it work properly!       I also wonder if it could be the monitor, but the weird screen happens only while playing the PC game.   Thank you for your patience with my questions.  Sandy

Hello

The title says m1800n but I'm sure that your m8100n meant.

The NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE is a video processor integrated on the motherboard and cannot be replaced.

Try your monitor and cable on another PC to separate the cable and the monitor questions.

A discrete videocard like the NVIDIA GT 520orGT 440can be installed in your PC.

I have a HP Pavilion p6320y I bought 8 months ago. Processor Quad Core AMD Phenom II x 4820.   I play WoW and since the last big patch, have suffered with low fps. I have the drivers to date and follow-up all the advice given to me by Blizz and finally understood that my Nvidia GeForce 9100 (integrated graphics) is not good enough anymore.

I checked my computer and discovered that I have a 300w power supply (12V) power and read on another post here that something stronger than 300w is required to run a decent graphics card.

    Now for my questions:

How much a power supply can I upgrade to without hurting my computer, but will be enough to run a good card?

What would be a good graphics card for this computer?

I was looking at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1 GB GDDR5 PCI Express graphics card and wonder if it will work on my computer.  Most of the cards more enjoyable seems to be PCI Express and I don't know if it will work.

Any advice will be most useful. I have some experience with the workings of my PC and I wouldn't trouble myself instead of run to the computer store close to you and someone else to pay. Thank you!

Well, you start from the low level with the integrated graphics card. It won't cost much to have a substantial increase if all you want to do is to run WoW without error messages. Yes, the 300w power supply is a problem and rules out any map that will require its own means (i.e. need its own power cord as a hard drive), but there are several maps of average quality that it can take a single bus power supply (i.e. just the pci-e slot itself). Just taking a glance at newegg.com I see the following:

    GeForce 9400 under $ 50

    Radeon HD 4650, under $ 50

    GeForce 9500GT slightly over $ 50

One of these, you should get where you want to be and does not require an update of the PS. The location that you have available is a PCI Express x 16 slot to not look cards AGP; they will not work. If you want to install the map you mention that you need to get better food.

    Hello

Yes, for the games, a video REHELV is a must. Based on the following information, you can use a PCIe Express x 16 graphic card

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=c00714578

You also need a better diet for a more powerful card. The following said nothing, not even of the same characteristics:

  • I need help updating my graphics card! Help, please!

Hello, I need help. I have the HP ENVY 700-214, I absolutely love it.

If there was one thing I could change, however, it would be the graphics card. Which brings me to my question.

What is the best graphic card compatible with desktop HP ENVY 700-214? I've got DirectX 11 and Intel HD graphics card. I want to get a GeForce graphics card, but I don't want to spend my money on evil. Help, please.

    JayrollsJay, welcome to the forum.

Here is a small but powerful video card that should work on your computer.  It requires only a 300W power supply (PSU) with no extra power connector.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Need help to upgrade graphics card on HP Pavilion A262N

This office has a 8 x AGP port and supplied with a video card NVIDIA FX 5200 which still works fine but was eager to put performance before AGP cards level reach hard to find.  Bought a card Visiontek Radeon HD2400 PRO AGP from Newegg that my so-called system is supported, but when I put the card in the computer does not start, the yellow CPU led flashes once then turns off as the bus is blocked.  I have upgraded the original 250W for a 400W power like the card said minimum 270W.  I asked HP cat twice to help on this and I do not really anywhere.  I need to know what AGP cards will work on my machine.  My slot AGP said 1.5V, and maybe that's why he will not support the new card?  What I've read I think that AGP 8 X cards are supposed to operate automatically on 1.5V?

The Visiontek software said to ensure the motherboard chipset drivers are updated, but then I discovered my motherboard is made by ASUS (P4SD - Stingray) to HP and they do not provide the update, HP must.  HP has no update since 2004 so this course who ask for help.  The motherboard has a chpset bridge north(865G) and south (ICH5), which means absolutely nothing to me.

I returned the Visiontek card but I don't know why it didn't work.

I am running XP Home Edition with 1.5 G of RAM.

The new card is DirectX 10, and this is perhaps why it does not work?

    Solved

Discovered of VisionTek support my motherboard only accepts the 1, 5V AGP on the cards and their card is a 1, 8V so that they are not compatible.  No AGP 8 X cards list their slot voltage so it's hard to find one that is compatible.

This site shows the differences between the cards.

    http://www.Directron.com/15agpguide.html

VisionTek support was very helpful.  In contrast, HP and NVIDIA never to you or have not the slightest idea.

Hello dlts4u, here is the link for the specifications of your system.

It shows that it has been shipped, as you talked about a video GeForce 9100 on board device, and also the motherboard has a PCIe x 16 video card slot.

There are many different options for a discrete video card, it would be difficult to offer suggestions.

There are a few things to consider when buying a video card in your system. The first thing to consider would be the capacity of power supply. You should also check the power supply for the power for an additional video card cables. Some cards require a power cable while others require two power cables.

You need to measure the space where the extra video card insert slot PCIe x 16. Some of these new video cards are long enough and your case do not have enough space to install one of the longer cards. You can measure the distance between the rear of the case on the inside where the video card would be inserted in the slot and the other end to the front of the case and see what would be the distance available.

Many video cards back in this space, but many will not, being too long.

Since these cards are performing more high, they wil create more heat inside the case. This usually isn't a problem, but just something to know.

You can buy cards under $ 100.00 to over $ 500.00. I suggest an average price a supplier of brand name card.

Personally, I prefer the Nvidia brand, but AMD Radeon cards are nice as well.

  • Old laptop - Pro 490 - need help with the graphics driver for Win 98

I downloaded the display drivers, but these seem to be the same ones that Windows 98 is installed but the screen is not 'full' but just a window in the middle of the screen.

I have also 1 device that does not have a pilot.

Is someone can you please tell me where I can get a set of drivers for the laptop? Win98SE drivers seem to be a little short on the toshiba web site (unless I'm blind)

Otherwise I'll have to use the recovery CD to install windows 95 and then upgrade to windows 98... do not look forward to that.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Hello

In my view, the drivers for Win98 and Win 98SE are the same.
But this unit is very old and Toshiba doesn't conceive these drivers more.
I suggest to look on the sites of manufacturers of equipment. Maybe you'll find some drivers for Win98

  • need help with formatting SD card

If I format the sd card in my Droid phone will automatically replace the system such as the folder dcim, digital camera and other files?

Reformatting prepares to essentially any card for use on the droid.  It clears the map and then replace all the system files that are hidden behind and you see, e.g. dcim.  Many apps put also the folders on the card, they will not be replaced before you insert the card and open applications.  The map will look like it did the first day.  Make sure that you format via the phone's settings and not windows, they format it differently and the droid will just reformat.

  • Need drivers for APU A8-3800 AMD CPU with Radeon graphics card

    HP Pavilion p7 - 1126 s

64-bit edition Windows 7 Home premium

processor APU A8-3800 with Radeon graphics card

Got another driver, I need to use the system recovery.

Have the former driver of the year 2006 by microsoft, need of the driver for the AMD processor by AMD. Looked around, but couldn't find and forget to go to the Device Manager to update the processor it says its uptodate lol that's also not true.

To the best of my knowledge AMD does not provide a driver of processor for consumers. AMD provides the driver to Microsoft for use in the Windows operating system. The only driver AMD lists for your APU (CPU/GPU) is the graphic driver. If you have not successfully updated for SP1 Win7 yet, I suggest you do before installing other software/drivers.

Go to Device Manager > processors > (double-click on a processor) > driver > Driver Details [this is XP, should be the same or close for Win7]. Under Details of the file driver as a driver "C:\windows\system32\drivers\intelppm.sys" file (it is an Intel CPU) should be listed. Below that should be a version of the file as ' 5.1.2600.2180 {xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803 - 2158} "(it is a XP SP2 install). If these items on your computer appears "amdppm.sys" (or something similar) for the driver and something like "6.1.7600.16385 {xxxxxxx}" for file version, your system is up-to-date. If you see something like "6.1.7601.xxxxx {xxxxxxx} for the version of the file, you are running Win7 SP1."

  • Netflix said that I need to update my graphics card with error W8156-C0262500

    Original title: error W8156-C0262500

Netflix said that I need to update my graphics card with this error message

"Just in case someone else has this problem - I found this problem solved my AMD Radeon HD 6670 and it might work here:

    1. open the Device Manager;

    2. go in display adapters and make a right click of your graphics card.

    3. Update device driver;

    4 browse my computer manually;

    5 let me pick from a list;

    6. the driver that worked for me was (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v 1.20) inside. Try to install each of them (outside of Microsoft Basic Display Adapter) and see if they work. »

This fix worked for me, even if after the update of v 1.20 WDDM driver, I had to then restart the laptop, then Device Manager showed that the AMD driver would only begin. I used the same process above a second time, but this term you choose driver AMD of origin (at the top of the list of drivers) to update manually. After doing this, the Netflix for Windows app 8 worked.

    Hello

The link below is a guige to install a video card in your Pc.  In particular, it seems that you will have to perhaps specify the location of the new card in the bios and save this change before you install the new card - see step 4 in the guide on the link below.  If your new card fits into the PCI Express x 16 slot, you will need to define PCI Express in the bios and save the changes.
