I need memory

In the system, change the virtual memory.  I need to know what to type for the new size in megabytes in the initial size (MB) or maximum size (MB)...  What size helps give me the memory and which box the initial size, maximum size, or both.

Thank you

Linda

Set just for 1 gig more than physical memory. If you set it on auto that he will grow up as required.

  • Satellite P30-143 - need memory to increase the RAM

    Hello

    I need some memory for my Toshiba laptop, it's a Satellite P30 - 143 (PSP30E-21301GS4) PC2700s DDR333MHZ CL2.5
I want RAM Kingston, but I can't find on the site kingstonmemory. And I do not know the maximum that I can use.

    No idea?

    Thank you
    Johann

    Hi Johann

Well, in regards the user manual, you can upgrade the RAM up to 2 GB. This means that you can put in 1 Gigabit in each memory location.

The new RAM should have the following specifications: DDR - RAM PC2700 (DDR333)
Normally, you should find these modules of RAM on the site of Kingston because I bought PC2700 DDR - RAM year older last of Kingston for my laptop and it works perfectly.

By the way: in the use of the Satellite P30 manual you can find useful instructions how to upgrade the RAM.

  • Determination of needs memory to SQL Server

    Hi all

I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find the answer to this question.  And it seems strange because I really can't believe I'd be the first person in this situation.

    The situation:

I pull some data on about 30 servers perfmon to size a new farm to run some of our external facing infrastructure.  I get good data most of the boxes (ui, search, intermediate level, etc.) but not the SQL servers.  Regardless of the load on the server, SQL seems to devour almost all available memory.  Read about managing memory SQL, it is not surprising that he would show the way in perfom and/or the Task Manager, but I need to get a handle on the amount of memory, these servers will need to function properly.

I know that there is much more to the issue of performance, but a SQL Server in particular has 32 GB of physical memory and SQL is actively filling 30 of it.  It would make a horrible candidate (like less because our host record and consolidation target ratios) for virtual server.  That said, I like the impression that this server might work on much less and uses this 30G because he can.

There are people who would say "Start with 4 G, test, and add more than necessary".  Unfortunately, this is not really an option for us given the timeline and the visibility of the migration.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide assistance here!

    -Brent

Personally I start with 1 GB and work toward the top, but this depends on how active do you think that the server is.  If you think its quite busy then try using 2 GB for the operating system and give 1.5 GB to SQL and see how it behaves.

Unfortunately, SQL will use given to her in the SQL Manager properties before you begin to re - use all available memory.

The only way to really tell is to determine if your server is under memory pressure and adjust accordingly.  Unfortunately, this means start low and going back as things are going to hell.

This will help to see if your server knows the memory pressure

    Memory

    • Memory: Available bytes

    • Memory: Pages/sec reads

    • Process: Working together: sqlserver

    • SQL Server: Buffer Manager: Buffer Cache Hit Ratio

    • SQL Server: Memory Manager: Total memory of the server (KB)

The memory: available bytes indicates the amount of physical memory, in bytes.

immediately available for allocation to a process or for system use. It is a memory

not currently in use by the system.

The memory: pages/sec reads shows the rate, in incidents per second, at which the

disk was read to resolve hard page faults. This counter indicates the number of read operations, without

with regard to the number of pages retrieved in each operation. Hard page faults occur when a process

fact refers to a virtual memory page that must be retrieved from disk because it is not in his

working set or elsewhere in physical memory. This counter is a primary indicator for types

defects that cause delays throughout the system.

    A low number of available bytes indicates that there may be not enough memory available;

or processes, including SQL Server, may not be free memory. A high number of faults Pages/sec

indicate excessive paging. A more in-depth look at individual instances of process: Page

Defects/s, to see if the SQL Server process, for example, has an excessive paging can be

necessary. A low rate of defects of Pages/sec (usually 5 to 10 per second) is normal, as the

operating system will continue to make a home on the range of work.

Ideally, we'd like for SQL Server to be the only application on the server and with most of

the memory in the box. Add memory to a server and configure SQL Server to use is

beyond the scope of this article, but the more, the better.

The process: working together: sqlserver instance indicates the amount of memory that SQL Server

use, in bytes. If the number is always less than the amount of SQL Server is configured

for use by the MIN SERVER MEMORY and MAX SERVER MEMORY options, and then SQL Server is

configured for too much memory. Otherwise, you may have to increase the RAM and MAX SERVER MEMORY.

Buffer Cache Hit Ratio should be constantly greater than 90. This indicates that the

data provided 90 per cent of requests for data cache. If this value is always

low, it is a very good indicator that needs more memory to SQL Server. If it is available

Bytes is low, which means that we should add more RAM.

If the total memory of the server for SQL Server is always higher than the total memory of the server,

It indicates that there is not enough RAM. This counter is in KB, as opposed to bytes for the process: working together: sqlserver

Review of information, in order to upgrade to version 4.1 (1) S47, documentation also says IDS-4210 and IDS-4220 sensors of the series should be upgraded to 512 MB of RAM using a Cisco upgrade kit (part # ID - 4210 - MEM - U or ID-4220-MEM-U) until they can be upgraded with IDS software version 4.1 or later. • Why must the Finder 10.12 more physical memory

    Hello

I use the preview mode icons in the Finder feature to pre-select one or more images for later use in documents. The pre-selection spans more than 30-40 records, each a few images from 80 to 120. At the beginning just after the start of system-Finder takes about MB, 45-47. Working through records about 20 this is increased to a muscular 1.78 GB. Which is not a problem at the moment because I have 20 GB of available, but I was wondering why the Finder is the hungry.  And also, this increase in the number of forever with the number of records, I'm working through?

The only way I can "free" memory to baseline is to force quit viewfinder, but there must be a more elegant method.

Anyone know this method? Thanks in advance.

    Hans

Finder, as the system and other applications, will use unused memory in the file cache. It uses more memory, but it does not use what is available and who otherwise would be wasted. If something else needs memory, cache memory is reduced. There is no need to keep 'liberation' memory. The system will take care of him for you (that's why all apps free memory are unnecessary placebos that actually reduce performance).

  • How can I add memory to iphone6 who has 16 GB

Adding memory to my iphone6?  I bought the plan wrong to what is called "Extra GB" thru icloud he says 200 GB I have still 199 GB left.  Torn out of 45 dollars.  The scam of fake plan 45.00 extra GB icloud obviously doesn't help if you need memory with storage of iTunes music.   But Apple iTunes is so icloud.  Very disappointing in what I thought was a fair society...

You do not have. Cloud storage is not a local storage on the phone. It is not a "rip off". It's the cloud storage.

You cannot add local storage to an iPhone. If you need more, you can buy a new phone.

    Apple is a fair society.

You can use the modules of 533 Mhz 200pin 2 x 1 GB of RAM.

  • Re: Equium A60 (PSA670) - upgrading memory

    Guys,

My brother bought an Equium A60 a few years ago and is trying to improve memory. The current configuration of the memory is as follows

    Slot 0 256 MB
    Slot 1 is empty.

I can't seem to slot 0, but I am able to access the location 1. I plan on 512 MB or 1 dildo DDR 2700 memory in slot 1. But I do not have the specsso of the motherboard I don't know what the memory configuration is supported.

I tried the Toshiba site, but could not find all the manuals. Anyone here know the spces are to know where I can download manuals.

    Hello

The maximum RAM capacity is 1280MB and the 256 MB internal memory and can't be exchanged for 1 location is available for the upgrade of memory.
This means that you can install the module 1024MB of available memory slot and you need memory PC2700 specification.

By the way: the user manual can be downloaded from the Toshiba website, that s no problem:

  • Transfer of data to low with the stick of memory on a Satellite A100-207

Hi, whenever I stick the memory stick for my Sony Ericsson P990i Smartphone in my laptop it says that he has detected new hardware and needs to restart to use.

I was expecting a little the first time, but it does EVERYTIME now. Which means the transfer of files on the memory stick takes a lot longer that it should and it's much easier (but much less suitable) to transfer via my network on my PC to the main house and use the card reader in my Epson printer to put the files on the memory stick.

Someone knows why this happens and how to stop it. I need to update the files on the memory stick as they are published on the laptop and the phone (via QucikOffice which comes pre-installed and allows editing of word and excel files).

Any help or ideas is appreicated.

Drivers for SD memory cards have already installed, but the problem is still there. I need memory PCI Flash driver for Satellite M60 - 167 model No.: PSM60E-0C801GGR

    Hello

Generally, tools and Utilities CD should be delivered with your laptop.
On this CD you will find all the required drivers for Windows XP. You can use the same drivers WinXP Pro.
If you install the drivers if you do it in the right order.
Installing the chipset utility is very important. This must be done first.
In addition, you must pilot your controller CardBus PCMCIA cardbus.
    Check it out.

  • Equium EA90-128: memory expansion

Realizing that I need to improve my memory of 256 MB at least 512 MB I decided to look for memory DDR suitbale. I know I need memory SODIMM PC2700 but not only am I confused on the opportunity to buy a 512 MB module or two 256 MB modules but I can't seem to find any provider that caters to my model EA80-128. The information that I received with my laptop is not much help either. Can someone help me?... and if I can adapt even more memory?

    Thank you

    Jeff

    Hello

Daniel is quite right. The maximum RAM supported by Equium A80 is 2048 MB.
If you put 1 GB of RAM, more you will have enough RAM for the manipulation of the Fryer.

  • SDRAM memory

My MacBook support a 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory, but I find on the internet a SODIMM.

Is it the same? Can I replace it?

I am trying to upgrade my MacBook as it is to slow down and someone told me that I can improve this way. I installed El Capitan, but has not helped.

    Any other advice?

    Thank you

If you need memory so I recommend looking to OWC, DataMemor Crucial. SODIMM specifies a type of module DIMM SDRAM defines the type of used flash memory. Your use of MB:

Maximum memory 6.0 (actuals) 4.0 GB (Apple)
    Memory locations 2-200-pin SO-DIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 (667 MHz)

Search memory with these specifications, and you will be fine.

  • Is the value MHz important when buying memory?

A a site specialist Web memory told me I need memory DDR2 533 MHz (pc2-4200) 200 next pinSODIMM

I thought that it is better to buy a toshiba retailer so I checked the world pc and curries etc. I found a module of memory similar to what I mentioned above - but the MHz is different - its 633 MHz... So I was wondering is it OK to buy this module, or should I stick to 533 MHz?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

The MHz value memory tells you how fast the modules can operate.

But very important is the FSB value. Memory speed depends on the bus (FSB) front if the FSB supports substep MHz (IE. FSB = 553 MHz and memory = 667 MHz) then the modules of memory would go only with 553 Mhz.

Also if you mix different bars with different speeds, then the two modules would be using lower speed. Simply said the slower module would slow the module second, faster.
