I need to consolidate my media files.

My pictures and my music are scattered in all of my two hard drives, I need an easy way to find them all and move them to a place so I can go through and eliminate duplicates.

I had no real system of organization 6 years when I started taking digital pictures and copied all my cd on my hard drive. Here I am two computers later and all my media is in complete disarray.

I tried to use the search, but there are so many photos it's hard to say what I want to. not to mention, they are mixed with images of the program in the search results.

through them all one at a time I think would be impossible at this point.

Help, please

Hello

1. try to refine your search, if your research and try if you can organize files, see the link below: how to Setup Wizard in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307980/

2. you can download Live Photo Gallery of windows on the computer that helps organize the photos. Link, please refer to: Windows Live for Windows XP Photo Gallery: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-photo-gallery-xp

You could try renaming the file, including the extension and then delete. Which can sometimes do the trick.
If not, what type of file is and what about size? And logged as administrator?

Normally stored in Users\yourname\then in different folders.

You can search for each media type extension, and then copy the files found in the external media (you must make sure that display the file extensions for known file types is turned).

The max on most email providers is 10 MB. The only way that you could share this file would find a download site that allows to host this file. You can do a search for hosting sites and find one that goes on your needs. Once you download the file to the single copy of the site the link and give the person who you want to initially by email.

  • Explorer.exe keeps the name change, deletion etc. of media files.

I do not know in which category falls THIS problem...
Feel free to sort where it belongs to.

The next thing happen very often:

I can't rename a file or folder. It is not the permissions. It's allways explorer.exe locks the file. Logging and turn it on again solve the problem most of the time, so I can remove/rename the file Explorer. In cases where this does not work I opening of session and closing session again, open a cmd.exe shell and remove the file without problem.

The types of files are .wma, .wmv, .mp3, .avi .jpg etc. all types of typical media files + a few others.

If the source of the problem is continuation of behavior:
Vista explorer.exe opens the file for read the news there, like extif of information in files .jpg, like mp3-ID3-tag, etc etc.
Can we prevent the explorer.exe to open these files for playback and the verification of the information? Win XP, one way to solve it (partially) which was to unregister the shmedia.dll, in Vista, it seems to be "" wmploc. "." DLL", but I prefer first an email of confirmation.

It's even worse with .exe files, where allways Vista (and XP) open the file to check for the icon resource, so on slow network, this leads to serious problems.

    Questions are...
    1. How can it be prevented that Vista opens various types of multimedia files to check their content and hang in part to the fact that (rename/delete prevention)?
    2. can it be prevented that Vista opens all .exe files to search for an icon resource, especially on the VPN or ANY network connection? I do almost all my (via VPN) stuff filecopy in a shell because I know that explore crashes after a few seconds due to this behavior.

KB956592 is already installed, it helps a little, but only a little because it isn't the navigation folder that really does hang, it is the action of file - open (especially with the .exe).

Before ask you: I have already change one of the biggest disadvantages of vista (this .reg file should explain itself if easy to do in words) so he checks any way content of the media due to the "automatic file type detection", but it always opens these files when they're accidentally hovering over these files and so crashes on certain files or make the undeletable and unrenameable.

This kind of thing is confirmed by vista resource monitor and pious sysinternals (now wininternals) tools, I see that explorer.exe is the culprit.

Don't worry, I still prefer Vista on XP :), it's just that he needs (such as XP and ALL other OS, no exception of Linux here!) adjustments for ease of use.

    Set

reg file - against the boredom of the folder-

Thank you for using the Microsoft Forum.

Permanently remove the Media Player 12 album art:

    (1) you can click on View (WMP12),

    (2) choose the columns.

    (3) turn off the Album Art box, and you're done.

Before performing this operation activate windows to show hidden files:

    (1) open the computer,

    2) click on tools, located on the top toolbar.

    (3) then Folder Options.

    (4) then click on the view tab, and then look for the element that shows the hidden files, folders and drives and check this option.

This is where the cache. Find and remove.

Windows 7 Media Center has its own cache of album art, where he recorded the album art thumbnails (Windows 7-cache):

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\eHome\Art Cache
    (with the corresponding "USERNAME").

  • Media files to decrypt memory card blackBerry Smartphones

    Hi all

I need to replace my 9900 and got another. Now I want to access my media files, but it seems that I can not decrypt it.

I'm just using the device password.

Is it possible to get all the return?

So finally the solution is very simple:

If you want to access your files encrypted on a memory card, don't forget that your encryption method is set to password security / unit and you must keep the file BlackBerry/system/info.mkf.

After copying this file on my SD card I could access each media file.

Please note that you do not have access on WhatsApp or similar databases, because they use another encryption method, see http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/net/rim/device/api/database/DatabaseSecurityOptio....

I NEED HELP TO KNOW HOW EXACTLY, STEP BY STEP, TO DO THIS.

    Three points:

    1. software (Real Player or any other) should generally not be on
external hard drives. It can cause problems. So you shouldn't do it.

2 move a program from one drive to another (external or not) is
difficult. This is because besides that the software itself, there is
usually many references to it and its location in | Windows, in the
Registry and elsewhere. Search and replace all of these references is
very hard. There is a software that is supposed to do, but in my
experience, none of this works perfectly. I recommend strongly against
    it.

    3. move media files is easy. You can move the files to a disk
to another exactly like you would move them from one folder to another.
There are several ways, but cut-and - paste and drag - move are the
may be simpler and more common. If you do not know how
    write again for more information.

  • Problems of reproduction with Windows Media files Format AVCHD.

reproducing can´t audio track on videos recorded in AVCHD format. The computer has windows 7 starter edition and windows media 12. We see only the video tracks.

The same file (AVCHD format) have been reproduced without any problem, halfway another portable computer with the same version of Windows Media and Windows 7 Professional (12).

Is there something that can I do.

    Hi Ulises,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand from the information you have provided to us, you can't play as AVCHD file format in Windows 7.

It seems that the AVCHD file format is not supported by Windows media player.

You can determine which codec was used with a specific file; read the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On the file tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections.

Then you can uninstall any installed codec and install that you need to do the job file.

If you have several codec for the single file to work they can clash and cause problems.

You can check the link for assistance on the issue - below

Using the windows-related issues feel free to post on the Microsoft Community Forum.

  • In Win7, how move you or rename a single multimedia file or media files containing single file without causing the library of Windows Media Player become corrupt?

I am trying to manually rearrange media in a way and records are arranged and named on my Win7 PC. I need to be able to move and rename files and folders individual.

The problem is that the traditional method of doing such things (i.e. the cut/Paste and Rename commands in Windows Explorer) will cause the damaged Windows Media Player library. It seems that all the changes to the paths of the multimedia files must be made in the Windows Media Player interface. However, I'm unable to find options to move or rename files or folders in WMP.
I am aware that there is a way to move and rename all the files and the folders that contain media files automatically, but not what I'm looking for. As far as I know, it does not allow me to select only the files and folders, and it offers very limited options for what could be the new places and names.
What is the feature I want to exist in WMP? If not, is it possible to do outside WMP which will not cause the damaged WMP library? (Also, if not, why not, Microsoft?)
    Thank you

    Hello

You can change the location of folders in Windows Explorer.
After changing the location, I suggest you to rebuild the Windows media player library.
