  My hard drive recently failed on my pc. Replaced under warranty and restored from my back upwards. Running windows 7 and above all has worked fine very happy, since the restoration, however, have a major problem. On my drive hard external are all my multimedia files (photos, music and film) since the restoration, when I open one of these files, I am confronted with 'you not currently have permission to access this folder', I hit and get off "(vous avez été refusé accès) I go to the Security tab and discover that there is no owner of the file take possession and it works." don't want to do that with 4000 files!

  Follow the steps in the response provided in this thread to take ownership of the folder on your external drive. Let us know if that helps.

  Hi Wally, the hard disk OS X and all of your files. Get a case for your reader, and it backs up. Try OWC

  Always keep your Mac backed up on an external drive with Time Machine or utility of cloning like SuperDuperor double clone.

  Try eBay for the adapter.

  I did a restore to 5/10 when I had no problem, but the problem persisted.

  I'll have to try Norton support. This may be something they did.

  In the meantime, I managed to change the names of files by connecting to the PC with the account of my wife who as co-owner had equal rights and the sign of the laptop is its ID as well so it worked, but it isn't always fair.

  Open "Disk Management" and see if the USB drive is listed, if so, then simply assign a drive letter to each partition on the USB drive. Then, open Windows Explorer and copy your files on the computer of Vista Basic.

  Macrium Reflect allows cloning. Once you have a cloned partition, you can see inside the clone and recover files and folders from it. Here is a well written tutorial from the how-to Geek on the subject.

  I have a Belkin Windows Easy Transfer cable and have used it a few times. My results with Windows Easy transfer, and that is why my preference is the use of a cloning utility instead. Macrium Reflect has never failed me, and I've used dozens of times.

• PSE 8 not backup Media Files

  I have PS Elements 8 (Windows 7-64 bit) with 9000 catalogued photos.  It is fabulous everything EXCEPT when I do a backup (file-> backup CD catalog) backup contains ONLY the catalog files, not the media files.  Backup of my 27 GB of photos is so only 200 MB.

  My multimedia files and my catalog files are both on the D: drive (2nd internal HD)... the Program files and Windows installed on C:. I tried grouped (all files are linked) and repair of the catalog (no problem found).  The backup works fine with no error, it's just MUCH too small.

  I tried the support of drive C:, D: drive and the DVD with exactly the same result.

  I made a simple copy/paste of my complete file on an external drive, so I have not saved much.  But I would use the built-in feature, so I transfer whole enchilada to my laptop without losing links (laptop doesn't have a disk D :).)

  Anyone have any ideas why PSE refuses my backup media?  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  I used to recommend the PSE Organizer to friends, but not more.  I continue to contribute here to help others like me who have large, existing catalogues in PSE.

  Lightroom is a better alternative for serious amateurs with large collections.   Windows Live Photo Gallery is surprising good for more casual users, even those who have very large collections (better than iPhoto, in my opinion).

However, on opening the project in the new location, all media files are not related. All of the trimmed clips are on the hard drive, as well as the scratch disk is the same as the project. I don't know if I used incorrectly project manager or theres a way to recreate a link to all of the media files without making one after the other?

  If your file folder structure is identical to the original, you should be able to link a file in the folder in the foreground, and they will all automatically link again... Or, if it does not work (sometimes it is not for me) and all the clips are in the SAME file, shift + click to select all your clips in your bin, right click and hit "link media" link the first clip and all others will follow (even once, they must all be in the same folder for moving + click option to work...

  Updated to iOS 10 and all is well.  The LockScreen, I try to find a way to remove all notifications with a single gesture.  In the Notification Center, there is now a "clear all Notifications," which is great.  However, I would like to clear all notifications without unlocking the phone.  As I see now, I have to drag every individual notification, and then press clear.  It is a pain, especially if there are a bunch of notifications.  Thanks for any help someone can offer.
