I see "moxon" on my computer network.

Original title: moxon

What is moxon I see like a computer on my network. I am on wireless and see the computer which I think is Microsoft with a username of Morticia.

If you have wireless, other local networks (wireless connections) that are not properly configured or do not have their security enabled features will be visible to you.

And if your own wireless connection does not have the various security features turned on, then your connection is open to others

  • Win 7 computer cannot see the computers on the network

We have 3 computers on our network. A desktop computer running a laptop running Win 7 x 64, an office equipped with Win Vista and Win XP. All 3 are connected to the same workgroup and are properly connected to the internet. The two workstations can see and the laptop on the network and can move the files to the laptop, but the laptop cannot see other computers on the network. Whenever I try to open the network to move files to another computer, the icon just mouse sits and turns and the page remains blank. I thought that maybe he just needs time to see everything, left like that for hours without success. I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the win7 with nothing working Help Center. I don't understand why, if all the computers are on the same network, they can see me, but I don't see them. I am obviously connected properly so they can move the files to my computer. It may be unrelated, but I also can't update windows, keep getting error 80246008 when I try to run the update. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

  • I can see other computers on a network of peer to peer windows XP but cannot access their shared files and the shared printer.

I can see other computers on a network of peer to peer windows XP but cannot access their shared files and the shared printer. The computers are connected by a switch, fixed IP addresses that are correctly configured and point to a DNS server outside the network. When I try to open the icon for one of the computers, he asked for credentials. I try to type the user name for the computer that is sharing the resource and the password. It is the user account whose computer is loged on and belongs to the Administrators group. for example: user name (Computer1\username) password (password). It does not work. The Windows Firewall is disabled on all computers. It worked well there 2 days. I can't find anything wrong with the network settings. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

If the portion of the machine has activated - Simple file sharing (i.e. it is XP Home or it is XP Pro with Simple (default) file sharing) - while all file sharing connections authenticate as user 'guest '.  It will not matter what username / password you provide, it will attempt to authenticate as 'guest '.  If the guest user has received a password or the guest account is not active, you will experience the symptoms you describe.

If the serving machine running XP Pro and Simple file sharing is disabled, then you should be able to connect by specifying the user as computer\user and the password to connect.  To turn off Simple file sharing:

  • Cannot see other computers on the network

    Am on XP SP3.
When I go to network connections,
    Right-click on local area network
Click Properties under the general tab,
Click on install and click Service
.. all I see is a list for a McAfee driver but nothing for Microsoft. I removed my computer some time ago with McAfee & he must have created problems that I can't see other computers on the network. Is there a Microsoft driver, I need to install and which will help to solve the problem of not seeing other computers on the network.

On the general tab of the properties of your network connection to the LAN card, you should see a box under the heading "this connection uses the following items."  Most Windows XP configurations for home use have 4 entries in this box: Client for Microsoft Networks, QoS Packet Scheduler, file sharing and printers for Microsoft Networks, and Internet (TCP/IP) Protocol.

If you don't have these, you need to install, even if you really need not the Scheduler of QoS packages.

You seem to have got almost to the right place, but be aware that when you click on the button 'Install' in the box, you are given 3 choices: customer, Service and Protocol.  The "Client for Microsoft networks" is obviously a "customer." 'Internet (TCP/IP) Protocol' is a 'Protocol' and the other two are "Services".

    What elements you have installed?

Whenever I have problems like this, I'm trying to access the share by using the IP address.  For example, if the IP address of jobloe is 192.168.10.20, then try to access \\192.168.10.20 and see what happens.  If it works with the IP address, but not the name, so it's a problem of name resolution.

  • Cannot print on officejet 6500 E709a of computer network

Today I tried to reinstall my software to print several times and I still can't to the printer. "Print Test page fails." The printer itself works fine on the computer, it is connected to a USB key. It works very well in my second network computer when connected by USB. The second network computer can see the printer on the network and appears to be adding correctly. He tells me is there and ready, but then gives me the error message when I try to print a test page. Nothing makes its appearance in the what is printing either the dialog box. My Network works fine with everything else. Troubleshooting all failed to produce errors. I am running Windows 7 on two computers, a major a 64 bit and 32 bit second. A third computer on the network, in another room, can find and print from the printer. So... any idea what prevents me to get this resolved?  Thank you...  Liz

A final update to the report...  I almost gave up the idea of printing on my HP printer from a computer on the network after you receive your last message. It always bothered me, however, that both firewall from Norton, which I intend to use, and the Windows Firewall, which I thought was disabled, had been activated when I installed the printer. As a last attempt, I made sure that Windows Firewall has been turned off, uninstalled the printer using the HP installation CD and clean up the registry. Then I reinstalled the printer again, and WOW, it works! This announcement, I'm just in case it can help someone else who had to rebuild his computer after a full recovery of the system to the factory status. My Learning: Norton firewall is not a problem, but Windows Firewall needs to be turned off completely. Thanks for all the help and the time you took to try to get up and print again.  See you soon...  Liz

  • Cannot see other computers on the network of the office.

I can't see other computers on the network from my office, but if I type in \\xxxxxxxxxxx I'm able to get on the other computers on the network. How can I have them automatically appear?

I'm terribly sorry for wasting your time.

I realized what the problem was. I've implemented the new computer exactly as the old, same name and everything. Come and find the computer name of the computer being the same as the old conflict and did not again see what was on the network.

So the trick was unplug the old computer from the network.
  • Printing to a printer from a virtual computer network

I hope I'm not too much of an easy situation, but is there a FAQ thread for printing on a network from a virtual computer printer please?

I just spent an hour setting up a network printer in a VM with forward gun they realized that, then my network is 192.168.1.1, (the printer is 192.168.1.113 and side Mac can see another printer on the network) virtual machine network seems to reside at 192.168.236.2

Canon has a process of installing network printers, but he can't see the network printer when he's looking for printers.

They say that my computer is not on the same network where the printer is located.

You're running bridged or NAT networking?

  • I need a lot of computer, network, routing, symbols etc..  Where...?

I was hoping that Illustrator CC 2014 (for my Mac) has been a much better alternative to Microsoft Visio (for PC which I don't own) who has a whole rich known to computer network included... computer forms, laptops, monitors, routers, switches, servers, clouds, etc.  These forms should be simple "line drawings".

But in Illustrator I see only a little, a few lame forms in the form library "Communications".  There isn't even a picture of a laptop.

I looking in the wrong place in Illustrator?  Is there a place to Adobe to download additional forms to build a library, or an existing library, with forms that I hope? I went looking on the internet for download libraries of form with appropriate images, without success.

    Thanks for helping me!

Looks like your best bet would be to search for games of a certain type vector icons. There are a multitude of games out there to use if you are not comfortable making your own. As I said there are a lot of choices if you want for free or if you're willing to pay for some will depend on where you look for them.

Here is a list of free sites (all found via searching for "free vector icons"):

  • where I have to see everything on my computer

I'm trying to see everything on my computer and don't know where to go to find it.  I've been to the finder, but I wanted to make sure that the apps I downloaded have not downloaded twice.

Your question does not much sense. But look in the sidebar of the Finder to an entry, all my files. Select to open the window. If you only see the entry in the sidebar, and then open the Finder preferences, click on the Sidebar icon on the toolbar and check the first option plan - all my files.

Downloads should lies in your folder/Home/Downloads /.
