First thing to try is a system restore:

Try in Safe Mode, if it is impossible for normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    Thunderbird is an email program. It does not provide you with an e-mail address. You must have an e-mail address that your Internet service provider gave you, or e-mail talk asked you to another provider of e-mail like Gmail, Hotmail, etc.

    I recommend that you get "your computer man" to put in place your e-mail address and configure it in Thunderbird. Or make him explain how to use it if it is already set up.

    Mode has no default password (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

    This could be a limitation of the fast user switching feature.

    The fast user switching feature may not work if there is insufficient computer resources to create a new Winlogon service thread. When there is insufficient resources, the system may stop responding (hang), the system may lock up computer or the user may receive a Userinit.exe error application and the following error message:

    Finder > go > connect to server...

    and enter the address of the server explicitly in the dialog box that appears.

    Date and me are dealt with by the network. Try restarting your router/modem...

    Most of the time that what happens when people change their email address main apple id without first signing in iCloud on their phone - the phone remains signed with the old e-mail address.     If you can connect to iCloud.com AND see your phone under appliances, you can remove the account as a last resort.
