Disable the analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Hello

My father is in the hospital and trying to help my mother to use the computer.

The hotmail and Yahoo are working very well.

I'm not a fan of the AOL software. Personally I would not use AOL as my Internet service provider. I only had a close encounter with the AOL software in recent years. Finally, the problem has been solved and it was not caused by the AOL software but he could have easily.

AOL has always provided a brand of software developed by others. Thus, they mark Outlook Express and all changed the menus etc then any that have a reasonable understanding of Outlook Express met with unnecessary difficulties trying to solve a problem. It was of course on a Windows XP platform.

With AOL, another problem is that they are slow to update their versions software brands and users to register on AOL in the retail stores are supplied with CD/DVD with versions to software. What I suggest you do is confirm with AOL that you have the latest version of their software for a Vista computer. When you ask pointed questions you get better answers.

The software for AOL email on a Vista platform is based on Windows Mail. Do not confuse Windows Mail with Windows Live Mail, which is part of the package available to you if you sign up for Windows Live Essentials. They are not the same.
    http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-Essentials-system-requirements

I don't know how Windows Live Mail would work with AOL as Internet Service provider, change to unknown software in a difficult period for your mother could create problems when his thoughts are elsewhere.

My following link can provide a way to correct the problem. My hesitation is that you're dealing with a customized version. Before you try, it checks if there are messages in the Outbox.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/941090/en-GB

If the KB 941090 solution does not work, it may be that a solution that worked with Outlook Express might be interesting to try.

  • Cannot send pictures from iPhoto using Outlook. Messages pass through but no images.

I read the Apple help page referenced in other queries, but it did not help me. When I try to send a photo from iPhoto using Outlook (my default mail program associated with a Gmail account), the message goes through but not the picture. I checked the emails contained in iPhoto preferences and Outlook and iCloud are there, but doesn't seem to work I have to drag the photos on the desktop and then attach them to an email in Outlook, but I think the image quality suffers.

Has anyone else had a problem with Outlook? Is it simply not possible to use the two together?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

What version of iPhoto? and the operating system?

Exactly how you share to Outlook?

  • Have Wdws XP using Outlook Express. Recently had work on computer. All of a sudden all the old emails deleted coming on Inbox. (Over 2500) Back in early 2010. Electronic mail stops. What is the problem?

I have Wdws XP and using outlook Express.

Work done recently on my computer, and now all the old emails that I had deleted in early 2010 are coming into my Inbox, (over 2500). I guess it is the overload that stops at the email, so I can't receive new messages.

Thases e-mails had been permanently deleted, supposedly. From which they come, and how can I fix it?

You had a frame that says "leave a copy of messages on the server. There is another setting that says "remove when deleting server ', but it was not selected.

Outlook Express knows the messages that he has already recovered, but this information is a lost if you, for example, recreate your e-mail account. Then all messages go down again if they were left on the server.

If the extraction has ceased, it might be because...

one) you forced by cancellation or may be disconnected from the internet (in which case there are more to come), or

    (b) he finished, in which case old emails cannot be retrieved again (unless you are replicating what just happened), all mail must be picked up

To avoid what is happening in the future...

    (a) according to the State of the parameters mentioned above, you may need to delete messages via webmail, and/or

    (b) to change the settings

    To change the settings...

    • Click on tools
    • Click on accounts...
    • Click on the Mail tab
    • Highlight (click) your e-mail account and then click on the properties button
    • Click the Advanced tab

3 background settings are what control the things...

"Leave a copy of messages on the server.

"Remove from server after x days.

"Remove the server after deleting in" deleted items "

Adjust them as see fit you.

  • I am having major problems with my emails. I can send emails OK but I can't receive them. I use Outlook Express.

I am having major problems with my emails.  I can send emails OK but I can't receive them.  I use Outlook Express.  When I first turn on outlook express, emails start coming, but then outlook express crashes.  I disable outlook express and start again. My emails are stuck in the Orange webmail box until the last email is downloaded.  This means that I sometimes get the same time to send four or five. I called technical support Orange several times, but they say it's a problem of microsoft. I use Windows XP.

original title: I can't receive emails from outlook express.

    Hi Mike,.

Make sure that you have not activated your antivirus software analysis of electronic mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 which is often a problem with receiving and sending a message.

Then, try to go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  This will give you a new message store and a new registry hive (where all the settings and account info is).  Add your email account and see if it works very well.  If it sticks sometimes, make sure that you are not setting to check messages too often (like every 3 minutes or somesuch).  You can also try to increase the timeout for the server where this is a problem (Tools |) Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced).  See if who deals with issues "" OE gel.  If Yes, then you can use the file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

I do not know that moving to Outlook might solve the problem, because they both use the same mechanism to retrieve messages.  If you still have problems, come on and generate a log file and when OE freezes, which could give some indication of what is the underlying problem.  Make sure that you disable the log file later, because this file grows enormously and can cause problems if it becomes too large.

  • Lost in Outlook Express - trying to retrieve missing files

    Hello-

I hope someone can help me. Our desktop computer crashed, so rather that investing in a new system, we decided to use our working laptop and bought a box for the drive of the old computer motherboard, because that had not been affected. It now shows up as drive F when we plugged him (as an external drive). I'm recovering Outlook Express FOLDERS that I created on my desktop. I have spent countless hours trying to do this and can't seem to get it. We have used Outlook Express on your old computer, with COX as our email service provider and try even with that. I managed to install our identities without any problem, I can't do the next step that retrieves my old emails, including those appearing in some files I had created and had created some including Outlook Express.

Basically, I need to find the files in the folders on drive F (old hard drive) and copy them into my Outlook Express courses. I'm puzzled. I really need to find someone's address and it's the only place where I got it.

Any suggestion or help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you

    Audrey

You are in the Vista Networking newsgroup. On the current computer are you using Vista? If you are, you do not use Outlook Express. Please provide details.

How did you create records OE on the desktop? They contain messages, (eml files), or store the message dbx files? If dbx files, don't you include folders, dbx?

If necessary, can you still see the OE message store on the HARD drive old? It is the way, but do not have something else to see if you can find it.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

  • I upgraded to Thunderbird 38.3.0 and when I send people who use Outlook attachments, the attachment didn't come through properly.

I can send an email with an attachment to a recipient. I tested sending two excellent and attachments in pdf. The recipient receives the email to me and I see trombone, indicating that the message has an attachment. When the user opens the e-mail, however, there is no attachment to find. To make this even more strange problem, if the user sends e-mail to themselves, the new email will have an attachment and they can open and view correctly.

This recipient is using Outlook 2013 as their e-mail client. It should be noted that when this recipient check their e-mail on their android phone, or their webmail, the attachment appears so very well. It is only in Outlook that this problem occurs.

I did some research and found the inline attachment problem that many have had in the past. However, when I checked the option mail.content_disposition_type in the config, it was already set to 1. I tried assigning 2 because a forum recommended this setting. That did not fix it. If this problem is a problem of inline attachment, then maybe there another setting in this new version of Thunderbird that needs to be changed.

As mentioned in the above topic, I use the 38.3.0 version. It is clear from this problem just started with this last update. I'm not positive, but I know that this problem did not start until a few weeks ago, and the only thing I can think of that might have caused this would be a new update for Thunderbird.

    Thank you for your help.

We found an answer to this problem. It turns out that a supplement called wisestamp was causing our problems. We have uninstalled this add-on and the problem disappeared.

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Note that you can find a shield icon to the left of the "Site Identity" (globe/lock) button on the address bar which mixed the active content is blocked.
