I used to move from web page to web page in the same tab. Now evertime I move to a new web page, it will open in a new tab. How can I stop this?
I want to control the number of tabs open in a window by opening a tab manually. I don't want a tab to open every time I change again web page.
It affects specific sites, such as Google? I forget Google because it has a setting to launch each result in a new window, Firefox can be confusing on a new tab.
Do you have any extensions related to tab Mix Plus tax? You can check on the next screen and either try to disable or adjust their settings by using the Options button:

I have a related to Thunderbird IMAP server that has only a 100 MB allowance, so I have to delete large emails regularly with the web interface of the server. However, I want to keep them on my local hard drive. I just discovered that for a year I was remove my backup at the same time - when I delete a message on the Thunderbird server deletes that too on a "Get Mail" command. I can't find a way to disable it.
Fortunately, I had all the emails sent to Gmail for the last few months, so I didn't lose something important...
This is how works the IMAP e-mail. The messages are on the server and you see and manage with the e-mail client. You need create folders in the local folders and copy emails to guard it before you delete the server.

You have a | after the web address that you set for your Home Page in the Options > general?
This vertical bar symbol is used to separate the popular URL tabs when many home pages are defined as the 'Home Page' and if the vertical bar symbol is there, a blank tab opens.

I'm on a 64-bit Windows 7 Pro computer and just upgraded to the most recent Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. When I open a PDF file a window opens saying "the application could not start (0xc0000005). Click OK to close this application"I click OK and the window opens up again about three or four times before it finally stopped. My PDF file is then visible. This is driving me crazy! I tried to use "Repair Installation" in the Menu Help, but it has no effect. I downloaded and installed the latest update - and this miserable message keeps popping up! Before you do a system restore to revert to the previous version, can someone please tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you very much.

There might be a chance of the previous version left overs. Try uninstalling Acrobat using cleaning tool: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then try to reinstall it and then see if that solves the problem.

Each url address unique Web site, or the URL to a Web site page is added to my place bar/address bar menu drop-down.
I don't want any added or registered in the address bar. Many used to be saved only the URL I used it but now, each unique url (and url in a url) that I visit are added to it.
How can I stop this? This just started happening.
I'm sure it's a simple parameter browser, but I checked and nothing gives an option to control this.

Whenever I open Firefox, my home page is loaded twice. How can I stop this from happening?
Firefox allows multiple home pages in separate tabs, perhaps inadvertently affect you the same page twice? These separate pages have a vertical bar | between them in the dialog box 'Homepage'.

Uninstall the toolbar Ask and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask and Firefox toolbar that prevents the opening of new tabs.
