IMAQ CREATE, image type setting
Hello
I'll put my f031b Pro Guppy camera pixel format.
It seems too long I put attributes with property nodes: pixelformat as Mono 16, no matter what I put in the "IMAQ create"--->"image type", I still get output 16-bit gray scale.
Is this correct? What can control when I change the image type to "IMAQ Create"?
best,
Wen
If the image is passed directly to the Image to get VI of IMAQdx, the type is unimportant since it is converted by the driver when it fills with data. Only the border size is relevant.

Hello
I found the "imaq create King vi" and its good for what I want to do, but I have a problem.
In Control Panel, you can set only one KING. But I want to create many Kings (lines) on the same image of King cunstructor to make me a table of coordinates "line".
Can you help me?
Thank you.
Holding the CTRL key while drawing of your lines should do the trick.

Using IMAQ create - Suggestions needed
Hi ppl,
I use a lot of IMAQ create VI to create image stamps in my application. Since there are a lot of instances IMAQ create it will be better to create all the references of the image at once and use them. Or is it OK to create buffers to image and close them inside each sub VI. My fear is that since these sub VI is called inside the loop it will not be a good idea to open the reference of the image for each iteration.
Thank you
If you create a reference to an already created image and if you call IMAQ Dispose.VI on this reference so as the image will be deleted from memory. Thus, the image will also be not available in the other thread where the image was created first.
I think it is best to create the image at the start of the program if you need very often an image 'assistance' to store the results of treatment. I guess that it make little difference in a Subvi if you pass the reference of the image through the front panel or get with IMAQ create. The difference is in not throwing images every time.
IMAQ has all open one image at a time by using a Boolean value, you can close connect to the VI.

Hello!
I am video capture with IMAQ.
I have a hand program and a Subvi, which made the acquisition.
When I use the Create.vi IMAQ to allocate say 5000 photos in the Subvi runns all fine
but whenever I call the Subvi there is a delay until all images are ready for the acquisition.
So I tried to make the distribution of the hand-Programm-VI where is enough time to do this while the user makes other things.
Then I put a reference or a single entry to the Subvi with table empty I allocated.
When I run the program now acquiring works but is about 10 x slower than before.
What's wrong? Why ventilation is in the Subvi to run at normal speed?
Welcome C.Riedel
Thanks to all who tried to help, but I found a solution (unsatisfactory).
I completely Redid the Subvi by copying and pasting the code in parts to a new VI...
and it works now. Jey!
So Bruce was good, the concept is correct. Thanks for that!
The source of probs remains unknown... NaH... but fortunately it works now!

Format "uncompressed" IMAQ AVI2 create?
Since the upgrade to SP1 2012 LV, I noticed that the most recent module "AVI2 IMAQ create" does not seem to write .avi files uncompressed in the same way as the old one (IMAQ AVI create). For compatibility, I need to use video uncompressed; It seems that the new version allows only "uncompressed Y800 Grey Scale" video, which is not understood by my (W7 x 64) operating system, so Windows Explorer cannot draw miniatures or open in media player - this is useful for previewing and organization of the videos. ImageJ and VirtualDub have no problem opening videos.
It is not clear what form uses "AVI IMAQ create" older default - whatever it is, it worked well! Various astronomy forums have suggested to install ICcapture to provide a codec Y800 for WMP, but it does not work for me.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you
Laurence

IMAQ Vision: IO file error
Hello
I get the error in the subject, trying to open a file that was acquired from a phone android via the command "adb shell screencap. I have attached the criterion vi and the image. I can't seem to find the solution to open this file without error happening on "imaq readfile. I tried image different types on imaq create and also tried the other way to read that an image file named "imaq read info image and vision.
I see that I can use the 'imaq getimageinfo' tool to get the parameter image correctly. I can't get labview to open the image without error, given the tools available. Help, please.
P.S. I'm under labview 2013 sp1.
Thanks in advance,
David Jenkinson
Confirmation: Your product-1074395993 code error code when executing "IMAQ ReadFile" during the reading of this png. I don't know what could be the problem with this PNG. To work around the problem, you can use 'Read the PNG file' of the 'Graphics Formats VIs"which doesn't have this problem.

Hi all
I have a VI that write an image to a file. I have an error in the COPY of the IMAQ. Plaese see the attachment.
Thank you
Hi all,.
It's because you try to copy a reference to an image, not the image itself.
See my revised; you will need to use another IMAQ create in order to have a place for the original and the other copy. You must also specify filepaths for the original and the copy.
Thank you

The TIFF to write IMAQ 2 - 1074396154 error occurs when saving a camera, but not two
Hi all
I have a program I customized based on example programs (e.g. triggered Grab loops producer-consumer) LabVIEW. The VI allows the user to choose the number of cameras they would like to use for acquiring (between 1 and 4), as well as the trigger source - either a constant material counter or a manual release that is connected to a digital input.
Acquisition works very well with any number of cameras (using a loop of producer), however I'm running on an issue to save images in the loop of the consumer. Frames are removed during the registration process, when I have the 1, 3 or 4 cameras option selected. I get error 1074396154: Image is not big enough for the operation. This question is somewhat improved by hard-coding the size of the image of 1280 x 1024 (as suggested here), but a loss of image is still intermittent. I never ran into this issue using the 2-camera option.
I have attached my code here. Anyone has any advice on why this error occurs only in some cases? Is there a setting that I need to configure for IMAQdx?
Many thanks in advance,
Tracy
Unfortunately the code is too big and can not look in every corner.
S ' Please try using SubVIs to make the simplest code: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/7593/en/
-Coming from another question, IMAQ Create(User Buffer) creates the reference to the image.
-You create an image to copy image to this place, you get from IMAQdx Grab.
->, You are able to see the image in indicator Camera1?
-> Use your Get size vi after grab and internal image structure deal just before enqueueing and see if it is to have the image size valid.
-Now let's say that if you get another picture before saving this image, then the image will be replaced.
-So if your writing process is too slow, you must create the buffer sufficient user.

Hello
I am trying to save the image captured by a camera (.tiff) to the JPEG file, but it came with an error. Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?
The VI of the sample and the TIFF image file are attached. Thank you very much.
Jane
VI "IMAQ decide" is not used immediately after you create the image with the "IMAQ Create" VI and closes a session will deal with you later, you must also change the location in which to save the image, because at the location "C:------' and ' C:------temp------" often generates problems with permissions of the operating system.
Kind regards.

-If you want all four indicator to have different images, you must have four imaq create for each other.
-Instead of this that you have done is, you created image1 and image2 and you send or treatment on the same images and this is the main reason for the confusion. (or this is how you wanted?)
S ' Please explain a little bit about what you do in the code, for me, it was too confusing.

Save image 12 bit <; with >; imaq
Following a previous question, I've done here, I discovered that I am able to install and use IMAQ.
So I try to do what I need, is to record a 12-bit grayscale with IMAQ image.
I read somewhere here that more can I go to save as 16 bit - I hope that it will not create problems in the final image.
in any case, is to know how far I could go - trying to understand works IMAQ:
(Sorry for the confusion - the lower left part deals with it without imaq, the party is on the right)
It works, I get a "error-1074396154 occurred at WritePNGFile IMAQ - or the possible reasons: IMAQ Vision: the image is not big enough for that operation.
-but just for this reason that I have inserted a SetImageSize IMAQ!
any clue?
Thanks for any help...
Alessandro
I have not installed imaq/SAV/vdm, so I'm going from memory here, but
(1) you will encounter many problems with memory. you create a new image for each iteration of the loop and never remove. At the very least put an image destroy after imaq functions. The way I have always done things is to create the image once and then just re-use before destroying once at the end.
(2) I think that your problem is perhaps the fact that you need to explicitly set the type of image in grayscale 16 on the imaq create functions, but I'm not positive

Missing images IMAQ, parallel
Hello, I use Gigabit Ehternet camera and after grabbing an image I get models and cut (always two models cut). So I have to small fragments of image caught (left square, Ellipse of left, right square, Ellipse on the right). For the moment I deal only with the Ellipses. Left and right Ellipse are placed as a WhichType.vi entry and subsequently GrainDecision.vi. If I only use one instance of WhichType everything is ok, and I have all of the missing images in ResultGrainLeft or to the right. But if I put two vi's, like on description.jpg, sometimes there are missing images in the indicators of IMAQImage or something's wrong with them (both the same images or something like added random images), but there are no errors and score changes. Any ideas what may be wrong in GrainDecision.vi?
Karol
Karol,
The problem is in the GrainDecision.vi and the constants that you pass to IMAQ create. The images are unique by a name, and if an image with the name of entry has already been created, it is the image that will be returned. Two calls to IMAQ create with the same input will create only a single image, regardless of the context in which it was admitted. Each instance of GrainDecision.vi will use the same thresholdGrain, SubDstGrain, images etc. I also recommend not to use images useless temporary destination. In general, you can leave the destination unwired image and the source image will be altered. You can probably eliminate 3-5 of these calls IMAQ create in GrainDecision.vi and your memory footprint and get a small speed improvement

LabVIEW IMAQ: How to release a one-shot cushion of space
Hello
We use IMAQ version 14.5.0.
We have management problems of the buffer that IMAQ uses to store acquired images.
We are releasing a device of linear scan at very high speeds (~ 145 000 lines per second) using an external clock sent via the RTSI cable pulse.
In our LabVIEW program, we set up a list of ~ 200-element buffer and set the parameter of "Continuous?" to "One-shot", so that pads spaces will successively be filled by the camera and no data is lost. (We can't use "Continuous" or else the data is lost)
Then, we enter into a software loop where each iteration:
1. the device receives impulses clock ~ 200 to align the images ~ 200 (lines) to fill the list of buffers.
2. the computer retrieves images buffer ~ 200 sequentially and records the data elsewhere.
So we want to be able to fill repetitive the same list of buffer. The problem is, after the first iteration of the loop, "One-shot" buffer spaces are filled and may not be disclosed to the following iterations. So we end up 'extract' the images first ~ 200 over and over again, which of course is not useful.
We tried to release buffer using "Extract IMAQ buffer VI" spaces, by entering "-1"to "stamp out"." But nothing helped.
We looked at using "IMAQ dispose" of completely destroy the images and clear memory space buffer, then using "IMAQ Create" to make fresh buffer space memory. But we will have to do in each iteration of the loop - this is not practical, because we want to use the capabilities of the camera's high-speed.
Is there a method to "erase" a space of "One-shot" buffer for subsequent iterations?
A test version of our code is attached. Sync_Camera_v3 is the main VI.
I deeply appreciate someone has suggestions to our situation! Thank you.
