Hi george - cole,.

Looks like your string UserAgent in Firefox is incorrect. To resolve this problem, all you have to do is:

  1. Enter about: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
  2. Confirm that you know what you're doing and that you will be attentive
  3. In the filter field, type general.useragent.
  4. The preferences that are bold, one line at a time, right-click and select Reset.
  5. Restart Firefox

Hope this helps!

  • I've upgraded to Firefox 36.0 but lost all my plugins. I followed the troubleshooting steps, but the file pluginreg.dat never regenerates.

    I always use Fedora 14 (64-bit), because it works much better than the later. If that's the reason why I can't get plugins to work so be. I think I followed the proper procedure to retrieve my plugins, but maybe I missed something. Note that Java and Flash worked fine for several years. It broke when I updated the browser.

    It is possible to reinstall these plugins.

    I can't update my Firefox 12.0. I keep seeing messages that say my system is outdated and vulnerable to attacks. I don't know much about the right way to download and open things. Could you please give me detailed instructions on how to upgrade my Firefox 12.0 to a newer version.

    These computers usually use Xandros, a linux version is more actively developed. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is a good way to update Firefox on these machines. I suggest that you install a new version of linux (Ubuntu is very popular and easy to use). It's a bit beyond the scope of this proceeding, however, I suggest looking on a few linux forums. They can help you find a version of linux that is more modern, faster and more secure and help you with the installation and set up. You will be able to use the most recent Firefox at this point here, your OS will be updated and faster.

  • After installation or upgrade to Firefox 31, starting Firefox does not display the home page, personalize displays a blank page and the radio button does not work

    I am the admin of Windows for a University Department and install PC with Firefox all the time. This problem does not occur with every PC I would maintain, only a selection bit (model different laptops with Windows and update 1 8.1.) Until today, it has happened with the new user (with admin rights) accounts that I place on laptops for our staff. Today, this happened with the account administrator while setting up a new laptop. In all cases so far, I have install Windows from a registered image that was created by using sysprep.

    I tried many suggestions to reset Firefox, removing the profile of Firefox users, removing the Windows profile users, uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, uninstall/reinstall of Firefox and the latest Java, but nothing helped. After uninstalling, I run an application to delete the caches and temporary files and even remove manually the keys to register HKLM\SOFTWARE\Mozilla and HKCU\SOFTWARE\Mozilla. I restart and make sure that the installation folder is deleted after uninstalling.

    Results are the same: after installing Firefox 31, the initial settings for migration, IE or Chrome pop up and after having clicked on the button finish, Firefox starts but does not display the home page of the new user, only a blank page. By clicking on the Options (3 bars) button does nothing. Right click in the appropriate box, the shortcut menu appears, so I can choose to customize, but which opens another tab with subject: Customize the URL and the page is blank. In the right click context menu, I can activate the menu bar and get options from that.

    My last attempt helped a little. I uninstalled Firefox 31, cleaned, removed the profile user Firefox, rebooted and then installed Firefox 30. Initial start-up runs and tells me that I'm not up-to-date and the works of button Options. But I can't always customize.

    Then I upgraded to Firefox 31, but then it's back to no start page, no options button and no customization. I can go down to 30 and get customize practically works again.

    Addon only is for McAfee Scriptscan to Firefox 15.1.0, just after installation is disabled.

  • I upgraded to firefox 3.6 beta 3 for firefox 12 and now, none of the sites Spruz I own or am administrator on just shows the Member of the groups of pictures are huge

    I upgraded to firefox 3.6 beta 3 for firefox 12 and now, no sites Spruz I own or am admin on watch just the Member groups, photos and videos are huge...

    My site about Spruz shows members of the groups, photos and great videos... Instead of members photos taking place a 1 1/2 X 4 space (3 rows) in the upper left corner of my site, they are falling is greater than the length of the first page in single file... Groups and videos take place amid all the first page...

    As I have something that is compatible with the site that I admit needs to be corrected... It appears that way on all Spruz sites I belong to...

    I can get the photos to display in 3 columns, if I do this:

    Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > content

    In the section fonts and colors, click on the Advanced... button.

    Change Minimum font size None and OK out of Options.

    But most people won't do that. I prefer a minimum of at least 10 font size.

    Then... How to fix it. How the thumbnails are size, is that they 10em with a font size of basis of 5px. If the minimum size is set to 10px, double images in height and width.

    It would be more logical if the base in your style sheet font size was larger. Can change you it? If so, try to double the font size and to halve the size of the relative picture:

    In http://languagesofourancestors.spruz.com/dhtml/corestyle/xstyle.css

    /*All Cards Small*/ .SUI-UserPic.small, .SUI-ImageCard.small, .SUI-VideoCard.small { font-size: 10px;}

    /* User Pics */ (4 lines down) .SUI-UserPic .SUI-CardImage { display: block; width: 5em; height: 5em; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid #aaa; border-radius: 2px; -moz-border-radius: 2px; -webkit-border-radius: 2px;} .SUI-UserPic .SUI-CardImage img { width: 5em; min-height: 5em; border: 0 none;} .SUI-UserPic .PopInfo {line-height: normal; display: none; width: 140px; position: absolute; z-index: 2; top: 4em; left: 0; margin: 0 auto;}

    I think that will be more widely compatible. There may be some details that I missed, but hope this helps.

    I don't know why the minimum font size has not been applied as well in Firefox 3.6, but I suspect that this is the new normal.

  • 49.0.2 Firefox works fine, but I can't upgrade to Firefox 50: the new version does not and will not be closed.

    In early October, Microsoft forced an upgrade on my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Firefox 49.0.2 continued to operate correctly. Then Firefox 50 arrived, and when the automatic upgrade occurred, Firefox would no longer work. It seems normal on the screen, but it will not look for the website of my saved favorites, and it connects to sites that I identify by entering the url in the address bar. It also doesn't close - to close Firefox, I have to call the Task Manager. I tried to uninstall Firefox 50 and put it back - that does not work. I also tried to uninstall Firefox 49.0.2 completely, restart the computer and then do a fresh install of Firefox 50, but nothing seems to work.

    I came back to Firefox 49.0.2 as a temporary measure (disabling the auto update feature), but this isn't a good solution in the long term. What should I do? Wait for Firefox 51? Abandon Firefox?

    Help!

    If you want to revert to Windows 7, you can.

    Your problem may have several causes. Let's start with;

    Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but it no longer recognizes your updated as version being approved. Now how do I solve the problem: to allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again.

    • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (for example, you are using the latest version).
    • Delete Firefox to list your program of programs approved or recognized. For detailed instructions, see

    Configure the firewall so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

  • Impossible to update Norton Toolbar after upgrade to Firefox 39.0

    Running Windows 7 and Norton Security with backup. Upgrade to Firefox 39.0. Notice that Norton toolbar would be handicapped because is is not compatible. By announcement of Norton, a patch was released that would update the Norton toolbar to a compatible version. Just need to run Norton LIVE UPDATE and reboot several times. Tried to update by these instructions and still Norton toolbar has not been updated to compatible version. The only other suggestion by other users is to uninstall Norton Security with backup and reinstall. I would like to see if there are other options to fix this problem without having to uninstall antivirus whenever a new version of browser is updated.

    Hi loeracs, if the norton update does not work to install the new version of their toolbar on your system, so that you would probably contact symantec technical support help in getting their product to work or to see if there is no work around.

  • After the upgrade to Firefox 36.0.4, it automatically installed noscript

    After the upgrade to Firefox 36.0.4, it removes all my existing extension of the add-on.
    In addition, 'noscript' has been installed automatically, and there is no way to remove it.
    The add-on "noscript" does not appear in one of the extension add-on for me disable/remove it.

    I tried to add some of the add-on noscript for the module additional noscript will appear in the
    Firefox extension page so that I could remove it, but does not remove the
    original NoScript that comes with Firefox 36.0.4

    If all goes well, there is a way for the user to remove this and is not part of Firefox 36.0.4.
    At least allow the user the options of its use, or delete it.

    Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

    If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

    Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

    Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

    If you keep problems also create a new profile.
