  Adding random a registry key is not going to work. I also recommend strongly against any chance adding registry keys to your system.

  To display a thumbnail of a video (or really any file), the program to open it should install what is called a shell extension. QuickTime MUST be installed one for MP4 videos, if this can make the video of course. You can try a repair of QuickTime installation to see what is happening. It is possible that you won't get only miniature MP4.

  To uninstall Windows Live Mail (WLM)...
  Start button > Control Panel > Classic view > Porgrams and features (or Add and Remove) > scroll to find Mindows Live Essentials, right-click, click UNINSTALL > follow the instructions from there.

  Note: you can check if
  1.) your contact lists are the same in WLM and WM. If this isn't the case, you will need to save it in csv.
  2.) you want to keep the WLM email messages. (If you "leave a copy of messages on the server" turned on, so you have no question there).

  I'm not aware of such a document. But Camtasia and Captivate are completely different animals. So, I'd be surprised to find many commands that were the same.

  You mention slides so I guess that you do not use Captivate as you would Camtasia. (Both can be used in a similar way if you use Captivate in demo mode). And then, if you were doing that I'm not sure why you need to pass Camtasia as is the much better product for this record type.

  If you are wanting to fade to or from black, I think I would use an object to display with a black fill, then move the fade in or out to achieve your desired effect.
