I want to close my laptop while he was working on a dual monitor, how?

I have a laptop with Vista and using a larger screen double.  I put it in place so I could completely close the laptop (for extra work space) while working through the bigger screen and keyboard.  I had little work on my laptop and now all of a sudden I can't for the life of me find the monitor settings to allow me to do this again.  Now, if I close my laptop, it stops the whole system.  Any help much appreciated!

Hello

Control Panel - Power Options - choose what closing the lid is.

You may reset your default power Plans and and then change them as needed.

Control Panel - Power Options - choose a diet Plan - change - plan settings
Restore default Settiings and then change advanced power settings

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the problems with your new HP PC and wanted to help.

While this PC is still under warranty, contact HP customer care directly so that they can put you in contact with HP Technical Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

  • Ss12 falls down while he was working. I set 5 minutes automatic registration but never recorded self made.

Why used it autosave? I lost so many hours of work. I was working on a project over the 3 days, and there was no problem. AutoSave set at 20 minutes, file records ok, but today after grooming of the project and adding a little more clips (3-4 hours of work), EP 12 crashed and everything was gone, all the changes of the past 4 hours. I restarted the program and did it again and set autosave 5 min. The program just crashed again and took another 3 hours of work and he lost?

I just upgraded to 12 EP and under Distance Selling Regulations (UK), I want my money that I'm not happy at all.

What operating system is running your 12 items first? If you can keep it open long enough to enter his work space Expert,

then update the 12 12.1 in Project Help Menu/set day.

Let us make sure that auto backup work at all.

Where you save the Project - Library/Documents/Adobe/Premiere elements/12.0? If so, the Adobe Premiere elements AutoSave folder and

the backup should automatically go. The Adobe Premiere elements Auto Save Folder usually moves with the project file (project.prel). (Note also that the project to the backup location is determined in the new project (File Menu/New/Project) dialog box.

    1. you go to edit Menu/preferences/registration automatic and nec

    Save automatically every 1 minute

Maximum number of Versions = 5

Import media and work on the project for 5 minutes.

During these 5 minutes, you see a message save Flash every minutes?

Do you not backup automatically in Adobe Premiere elements AutoSave folder in the folder above 12.0?

If not, repeat the process, but before you the 5 hour minute, make a manual save by clicking the Word save at the top right of the workspace Expert.

Then continue watching the signs that auto backup is now triggered.

We will follow to your results.

    Thank you.

Add on... After that, we know that the AutoSave works or does not work, then we will give attention to the implementation of the project, properties of the media source, changes,

etc., as well as the resources of the computer.

  • a kind of automatic update suddenly without warning started to close all the documents I was working on, rebooted and lost all the changes I had made in the past three hours

I've worked hard for three hours in the middle of the night, made extremely dfficult work on several Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. at the same time - the kind of work that you can do if you're sure not not to be interrupted. All of a sudden a few (probably Windows) update began to close the files one by one, "don't turn off your computer" was the message.
I waited. It restarts, but then I realized all of work my three hours had disappeared. The files are still there, but in their unchanged form. How is it you lose nothing if your battery runs out and you can restore the files, that you deliberately deleted, and there is a permanent record of each tiny websearch? However, Windows can come in the night and boldly to destroy three hours of irreplaceable forced labor without warning! I won't ever be able to replace it.

Set the automatic update process so that you can control if the updates to download and install.

And, as a general rule, always save files regularly while you work.

We're cross-posting it here, but the chances are low that program hter itself is corrupted and still able to open.
