I want to continue to use 32 bit me with XP Home upgrade on an SSD.

I intend to get a new PC and use the current versions of the retail me 32 bit with an XP Home upgrade that I own. I have the choice between a 60 GB solid state drive or a 500 GB hard drive, the two Sata III 6 GB/s. The operating system will be compatible with Sata III and are there complications with the SSD or HARD drive?

FWIW... Technically, you cannot switch from Xp to Windows 7. It would require a clean installation. If you are simply wanting to keep ME or Xp to run some programs then download download Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC or use a different virtual environment if it's ME, you are wanting to use. You can also create a dual boot system. It would help if we knew why you want to be able to keep the older operating system that we can have other options to present.

    Hi Stephanie M.

If your version of Design Premium CS4 for Windows run on a 32 bit OS, then I don't think that it is running in Windows 10. There are a few cases of people install with the 64 bit version of CS4 Design Premium, however. See this thread: Re: CS4 and Windows 10?

    I'm sorry.

  • I want to continue to use my current Vista operating system, but I forgot to turn it off before changing the parts of my PC. Now, whenever I try to turn it on, it says that the license is already in use.

Transfer of license with a twist

So I've recently upgraded to a new system... Virtually everything has been replaced - the motherboard, RAM, graphics card, processor... Everything but my HARD drive. I want to continue to use my current Vista operating system, but I forgot to turn it off before changing the parts of my PC. Now, whenever I try to turn it on, it says that the license is already in use.

Is there anyway for me to be able to turn it on for my new rig? Thank you.

If you have a retail copy of Vista, you must activate by phone.  Click Start, type "slui 4" and press ENTER.

    See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940315

If your copy of Vista is preinstalled on your computer, you can't use it with the new motherboard and you will need to purchase a copy of the license full of Windows.  Most of the editions of Vista out of support in two months so consider Windows 7.

  • 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The error is event 6008.

I have an ACER aspire x 3200 64 bit sytem with vista home premium which has been randomly locking up and freezing. The only mistakes were event 6008 with a description of the stop system prior to (time) on (date) was not planned.
When these errors originally occurred, I returned the system to acer and they installed a new hard drive. After updating the vista system blockages continue 30 times over a period of 3 months. Acer sent me a new disk image on 3 disks that I have installed and updated on 11 October. There is no blocking until the 10/27, 10/28, and for the 3rd time today.
The closed unexpected gives a blue screen if I use the locking system to the top. I have to hold the power to restart when the system crashes.
Can someone help me solve this problem?

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  But I guess it's too late for this for so long that there are probably no so old restore points.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If this does not work, then please post repetitive errors in Event Viewer on the stop (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.  From what I understand, there is none of the events (which surprises me because a freeze should certainly generate an error event).

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work (but you NEED a disc).  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

  • Using 64-bit JRockit with OSB 10 gR 3

Is it a good idea to use 64-bit JRockit JVM with OSB 10 gR 3?
According to my knowledge OSB 10 gR 3 uses 32-bit JVM. Our production environment is GNU / Linux 64-bit with 32 GB memory. But we are not adequately able to use if we use 2 bit JVM (as - Xmx in the JVM cannot be equal or more than 4 GB). I intend to use 64-bit JRockit JVM to run Weblogic Server
Are there any known issues or I'm just missing something?

    Hello Calvin,

I found the docs of configs supported for the OSB 10 gR 3 here:
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E13196_01/platform/suppconfigs/configs_al10gr3/osb10gr3/overview.html#1128234

The 64-bit JRockit does not seem to be supported on Oracle and Red Hat Linux, so it should work perfectly.

  • Want to replace McAfee Enterprise 8.0.0 by MSE - but I also want to continue to use Spybot/AdAware

    Hello

Windows XP/SP3.  I was happily running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0 (recently reached end of life), Spybot S & D (w/o TeaTimer) and AdAware anniversary (free) - the latter two are current as of yesterday (10/05/10).  I would like to continue to run them both and replace the old with MSE.  I was also running AVG Free, until the change of DSL to cable internet - which then interferes with my system - so I uninstalled.

To read messages from the forum here, it seems like it should be good, but I thought that it is wise to ask the 'experts' on how best to proceed, before making any changes on my own.  I have not yet downloaded MSE.

I am pleased to provide you with the necessary additional information.  If so, please let me know.  If this isn't the case, I look forward to receiving your detailed procedure!

  • "It is not possible to use 64 bit" Message with ESX guest on Windows 7 x 64 host

I get the "you have configured the virtual machine to use an operating system 64-bit client.» However, the 64-bit mode is not possible. This host is capable of VT, but VT is disabled.

Enabled virtualization in the BIOS, I get this message. I also tried to activate and deactivate the "Trusted Execution" on the CPU, nothing works.

CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 in a HP Compaq 6910p and well of course x 64 capable, as the host is running Windows 7 x 64.

I rebooted, reinstalled the workstation, no idea why I continue to get this message?

While making sure, but do you have you completely power off your system after installing VT turned on in the BIOS?

  • 2nd generation and 6th gen Ipod touch.  Can I continue to use both?

I have an Ipod Touch 2nd generation and get a 6th generation one for Christmas.  I want to continue to use both.  I heard that the 2nd generation will not be able to use the most recent ios.  How can I use both?  Of course, it takes a lot less memory also.  I have not would care if they are not sync, but I don't want to plug an and destroy the contents of the other.  Should I configure them with different user accounts or?

You want to keep the same Apple ID That's what your content is about.

You can very easily manage different content on each device. I manage different content on my ipad and iPod and they have different iOS.

Your other older will continue to operate, he won't be able to do everything that the 6th gen due to having an older iOS and probably less apps that can be installed on it.

And then if you use it just for the music, there are no descendants.

You have two options to switch to Lightroom 6:

    1. Subscribe (including Photoshop CC 2014), or
    2. Buy the traditional way CS6 upgrade:

    Products

    Click buy

I want to buy: menu, choose Update (instead of the default is Full)

    I own: Photoshop Lightroom 5.x

    Make your purchase.

I have CS3 and want to continue using it without having to upgrade. I don't want to spend the money - I just use what I have. Is it possible /.

Just continue to use it if it's your choice - there is nothing that requires you to buy something more recent.  You may continue to use the same computer as well.  The upgrade of your computer could lead to an incompatibility between the software and the new system.

Just to let you know, CS3 is not eligible for an upgrade over January 1.
