  Thanks for posting. What material assign you to the VM run with? This happens with all or just a vitual machine?  Also, have you tried to reinstall the application?   It is not necessary to uninstall anything, especially since you are not using a version 4beta. And there are serious risks of losing important data that you store if you do not remove older versions with a lot of attention.

  If you decide that you don't like 4.0, you can easily go back and reinstall 3.6 without any problems (and without the risk of data loss).

  A point, however: If you're a favorite demon like me, it's really a good idea to save your bookmarks before you make any changes to firefox. I'm so obsessive that I have back up constantly (and I do not rely on the automatic bookmark backup process of FF), but that's just me being paranoid to learn the hard way very long.
