I want to put my computer back to factory settings, but I have things in my documents folder I want ot put everything on a single cd of suggestions
I don't want to put each individual on separate cd I want that all my document files to be on one cd any idea
As long as the 'things' are files, such as documents, images, music or other data, it is not a problem. You cannot save most 'programmes' (for example, Microsoft Word) like this.
You can put as many files (for example, * .doc, *.mp3) on a CD as will fit. A CD - R 'in writing' normal holds about 700 MB.

need the simple way to set the computer back to factory settings, and already saved safe data
need the simple way to set the computer back to factory settings, and already saved safe data
Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

How can I get my computer back to factory settings?
my computer is slow and I want to restore it back to factory settings, so this has nothing about it except the important things, like when you get everything first... does anyone know how to do this?
Note that if you save all the important things, it will be lost after the reset.
After the reset, you should get all the updates from Windows Update EXCEPT for hardware devices. Then, you install a good antivirus. ONLY AFTER you have done this, if you replace the stuff of backups or install anything else.
Your laptop is equipped with a recovery instead of disk partition
.
This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

restored my Dell computer to its factory settings, but my backup files will not restore
original title: restoration of PC for windows XP
Used "files and Settings Transfer wizzard" to restore my Dell computer to its factory settings.
I saved my files to an external hard drive.
Restoring to factory settings worked fine however not recover my files backed up.
A message is displayed (the location you specified contains no stored information)
I can see the USMT2 file. UNC on my external hard drive and it's big enough.
Need help to restore my files.
Hi GeorgeGould,
If it helps, try the step below and check out them.
(a) access to the following location: C:\WINDOWS\system32 and copy the USMT folder (and all what it) to the location you saved the USMT2. The UNC file.
(b) now when you run the files and the Transfer Wizard from the settings of the computer that you want to transfer the data, navigate to the location of USMT folder you saved above and click on ""migwiz " and that should start normal files and the wizard to transfer settings from this location."
Note: Be sure to point to the location to the root, for example, if you save your data at X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC, then point the location to X:\NOT to X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC. The wizard should find the data automatically.
You should now be able to successfully complete the transfer process.

Files and settings are not transferred when you use the files and the Settings Transfer Wizard

After putting the computer back to factory settings, there is no internet connection in XP
I just put my moms old computer back to the factory setting and mounted a new ethernet card. His ISP is Virgin Media, which you do not receive a disc for. Usually, it connects via a wireless D.Link router and its operating system is Windows XP. When I try to connect to Internet Explorer, I get "cannot display the webpage:." Any suggestions please?
Thank you
Debs
Hi, Deborah17,
I would say to contact Virgin Media for assistance with wireless - according to this they have a rom installation
How to manually configure my wireless router cable Windows
http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller
If you are experiencing network connectivity problems in Internet Explorer, the first thing to do is to make sure that all cables are connected. Then open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then click diagnose and repair (if you use Windows Vista) or solve problems (if you use Windows 7).
If the problem persists, see the following articles:

- How to troubleshoot network connectivity problems in Internet Explorer

I hope this helps.

I NEED ASSISTANCE TO RESTORE THE COMPUTER BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS
I have a Dell Vista Home Premium 32 bit computer. On April 14, I tried to update some drivers, install a music player & even install Vista Service Pack 1. Is Service Pack 1 bis new section? I've had my computer for several years and I have automatic updates, so I was surprised when I turned on my computer on April 14, and a message came saying Windows was this important update & I wanted to install, I did.
Anyway, between all the stuff I did that night I somehow totally messed up my computer. When nothing would not properly work, I went up to the back & Food Center. I used this at least a couple of times before without a problem. This time however, there is no restore point of your choice except April 14. Anything before that. When I click on choose another restore point, nothing happened. I tried to choose April 14 restore point but that didn't help. Then, to really live things, I decided to restart my computer in Mode safe. I will never use this option again. Now I can't get into anything other than Safe Mode. I ran Spyware, Malware and all the options 'repair your computer' I could find. Nothing did. I came on this forum once and the person who helped me finally said the only thing that remains for me to do was to do a full system restore. He said there was nothing more he could think of to help me. He didn't tell me how.
I'm not crazy to do recovery, because I don't know that I will have things then it will fix it, as my Internet service and who knows what else. But not having not much money right now, I don't want to take my computer somewhere to be fixed if I have to. Could you please help me to do a full system recovery? First of all, how can I save my photos and my files, I don't want to lose? And how do I know what I need to save? I have a USB flash Memory Stick that I plugged into my computer. He downloaded the software but I have no idea how to do to get my files to transfer to it.
And what if I have a virus? Would I transfer to the portable storage device and then reintroduce the virus to my computer when I transfer this back? I ran spyware & malware and nothing shows up, but clearly SOMETHING is wrong. I have a disc of reinstalling that came with my computer but I shouldn't need to use this, should I? Someone has the patience to give me DETAILED instructions on how to make the recovery, including how to do a back up? I would love you forever.
Sandee
It's way to Dell to reinstall from the DVD on your computer.
Answer the questions in blue; It is in a sequence.
And that way if you also have a recovery partition on your hard drive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~To backup your data: files, photos, music, etc:
1. plug the flash drive
2. go in where your files are stored
3. click right on what you want to record, example: a photo album > Send to > click on the USB Flash Drive(it might be Drive E: or F:)> it will save to it)
4. Repeat until you have backed up all your data.When it comes time to reinstall the data, connect the Flash drive, AFTER that you have an anti-virus and Anti-Malware installed, right click on the flash drive? It Scan before copying the files on your computer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After the reinstallation of this Image, you should have a period of trail for an anti-virus; ask here if you don't for a free good.
And reinstall these 2 programs I gave you.
You're doing a right click and scan your Flash drive with them:http://www.Spybot.info/en/index.html
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.2 is a very good Anti-Spyware FREE program.
Download, install, update and immunize your system with it.
Then ANALYZE with her.
Update and scan your system once a fortnight.

Reset computer back to factory settings
can someone help me
original title: I have a laptop of hi quality and I would like to reset to factory settings it runs on windows vista but I do not have the disk because it is there another way, I can do this__
Most laptops and many OEM desktop computers (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.
These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Restore my laptop back to factory settings, but I've deleted d ' training.
I want to give this pavilion hp bought in 08 to my daughter. I need to clean up, and I deleted out of factory settings ' drive to make more space. C drive is nearly full. I have a new hp. I take my pictures and I want to save. If it is not possible to restore, how do I remove all my stuff and return the c drive to view more available memory. Thank you for helping in advance. Melissa
Hello
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
