  According to a video of Lightroom 2 of NAPP on printing, Scott Kelby says 16-bit output is only available if you have OSX Leopard because it is a feature of the operating system, and Windows doesn't support 16-bit printing. However, Canon provides a Photoshop plugin with the iPF5100 printer that supports 16-bit output regardless of the operating system in use. So, I'm just curious as to why Lightroom supports outputs 16-bit for Windows, but the fact of Photoshop?  Or am I missing something?

How an image is converted to print is not a limitation of the BONE. The printer driver does. "So who am I to believe?  I imagine that if Windows was capable of 16-bit printing output then Adobe would support it on the Windows platform, right?  So if someone from Adobe can answer this question, I would be very happy.

  Once upon a time, you could install Lr5 on Vista, but this 'hole' could have been connected (you don't maybe unable as well, not the latest version anyway - I don't know).

  Here is probably your best chance if:

  Lr5.0 works on Vista (with the patch above), so if this is Lr5.4 you can fall back (beware of bugs).

  If possible, I recommend upgrading your operating system to Windows 7 instead.
