I want to upgrade Vista to Windows 7...
My laptop came with Vista, and I have no disk for Vista. What I've read, it's that I'm going to need a Vista to help upgrade disc. My laptop is old and Microsoft does not update it more, and I installed Windows7 on my desktop, but once again no disc. Please suggest a plan of action, I do much of my work on my laptop and LOVE windows 7.

How to reinstall Vista
Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

My personal opinion is that you buy a more recent machine as Vista Basic came on machines that have the material basis for it requirements.
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

I have a desktop pc with 2 internal hard drives. A hard drive has the BONE and the second hard disk is a separate partition. (I do not combine hard drives using RAID.) If I upgrade Vista to Windows 7, the upgrade will be to reformat hard disks or just a hard drive with the operating system? Should I remove the second hard disk of the computer just to be sure? The second hard drive must be reformatted for use with Windows 7?
Thank you.
You must install the upgrade in the Vista operating system.

I want to continue to use one of my older laptops with Windows XP Pro with Adobe CS4 Design Premium. I want to upgrade XP to Windows 10. Does anyone know if CS4 will be compatible?
Hi Stephanie M.
If your version of Design Premium CS4 for Windows run on a 32 bit OS, then I don't think that it is running in Windows 10. There are a few cases of people install with the 64 bit version of CS4 Design Premium, however. See this thread: Re: CS4 and Windows 10?
I'm sorry.
Thank you

Yes, it is said that in the title. I want to reinstall them and upgrade. If I buy and download the upgrade windows 7 will there be an option to wipe the hard drive and delete the partitions?
Hi NoahFrank,
No, you will not get an option to erase hard disk or delete partitions during the upgrade of your operating system. However, you will get this option during custom installation.
Formatting your hard drive during a custom installation of Windows 7 permanently erases everything on the partition that you put in the form, including your files, settings and programs.

Try to upgrade Ulitmate from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate

If the product you have Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' does not allow to move from XP/Vista to Windows 7. You can buy the product at retail of Windows 7 Upgrade not the ' Anytime Upgrade '.Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' is for moving from one version of Windows 7 to a higher version, such as Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

If you have Vista:
Update: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7
New installation: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7-custom
Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:Back up any files and settings you want to keep
Install Windows 7
Reinstall all your files
Reinstall all the programs you want to use.
These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

I just bought the upgrade to windows 7 (just a PIN, so I can get my product without discs key) I have my product key, but he asked me to go to windows anytime upgrade (fact) and I click on the only thing it won't let me who takes me on the windows site that says "you want to upgrade your PC? Windows Vista anytime upgrade is no longer available"everything I have there, which relates to upgrading windows 7 takes me to the shop where I can buy windows 7 or the update at any time that I just bought. What should I do? I just paid $80 and I do not see where to enter my product key! Help, please!
Windows Anytime Upgrade does NOT level your computer from Vista to Windows 7, only Windows 7 to a higher version of Windows 7. If you bought it online, there is a chance that you can get a refund.
