IC on Solaris

All,

I received this message from our Director of DBA. Any idea on how I would respond to this request? Seems that the agent of the INfra is SSHing far too often.

  • Description

If multiple Oracle instances is run on the same host, mutiple VMSTAT and IOSTAT commands are created by causing high CPU usage.

  • Resolution

    SOLUTION #1
Disable collections of BONES for all but one case.

    SOLUTION #2
Disable the 'File system IO' collection to stop the IOSTAT command.

    SOLUTION #3
The command VMSTAT is managed by a collection that gathers information from collection OS and JDBC so it's a little more problematic for disable.

    WORKAROUND #4
Revoke the authorization of the user of the operating system run the IOSTAT/VMSTAT commands.

This would cause the Agent logs getting errors printed in them; However, it would also stop these commands to run without disabling all of the OS.

I know that each user can enable/disable javascript with subject: config, but it is only one per / user activity. I want the javascript.enabled value set to false for all users. In addition, any user should be able to change this setting.

I have an iPhone 6 and would like to know if I can safely power favorite free this device using a powered solar panel or an external battery such as those like below. I'm having a bit of time figure this out on my own and do not want to try it unless people smarter as I say it's OK.

You probably can as your power source can provide the necessary power required by the MBA. I think it's around 40 watts to load or operation of the charger. Just check the ability to power AC charger. Of course, you must provide the right voltage. This information should be on the power adapter, though difficult to read.

  • Can Qosmio G20 - I install Solaris on it

    Hi Guy,

I want to install Solaris on my laptop of G20 Qosmiop. I have already created two partitions on my 1st disc and I already installed WIN XP on the first Partition.
So in my second Partition on the disk I want to install the Solaris x 86 operating system.
When I go through the process of initialization of the system with solaris, it throws the error as "Thheir is No DISK FOUND.

    Any idea or Suggestion.
    Regards.

    Hello

Qosmio G20 uses the RAID controller.
If you install windows for example you must integrate the RAID driver at the beginning.
I guess that the same procedure should be made on the Solaris operating system.
Unfortunately, Toshiba doesn't supports any other operating system. Only the name of Microsoft Windows.

If you want, you can see the Solaris page. Maybe you will find detailed information.

  • Feedback loops for the algorithm of peak power of solar cell

Hello. I have some experience with Labview but I am struggling with the structures and feedback. I have an instrument that defines a load power voltage and measures. It will be connected to a solar cell that has a peak power (see the trace on the photo). I need a simple program that will make the instrument to oscillate around the point of maximum power. He must set the voltage, power, add a voltage increase, measure power, then add or subtract the voltage according to the question of whether the power has increased or decreased from previous measure. I am attaching a schema. Start V and delta V will be given and fixed. I don't know how to implement with Labview code. Thanks for any help!

  • equation of solar cell

I implement the ideal mathematical model of a solar cell, with the equation of the solar cell as my base. It is to be part of a simulation of a PV system which includes a solar cell, an MPPT algorithm and a converter DC / DC. I am familiar with the toolkit OR for the characterization of cells PV I - V, and I use the * files lvm for voltage as input for my VI. However, it seems that I'm incorrect values in the XY graph, especially to the value axis. Can somebody proficient with PV cells take a look at my VI? I've included the VI and the * lvm file I used. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to use the screws supplied by the box for tools without modification to compare the values you receive?

You receive the correct values when you manually enter the equation constants?

I found a tutorial that may be useful on the toolkit of I to V relating to photovoltaic cells.

  • deploy Labview on Solaris

    Hello world
The project I'm working on that has two parts. Part 1 is data on a Solaris system. Part 2, supercomputers, already made in Labview on Windows (at least, so far).
The problem, I hope you can help me with is in part 2. My internal clients get the rash when Windows is mentioned (they are old-school, UNIX command line, engineers, who the only VI, they know, is the popular "vi" text editor UNIX intensive). I want to port the supercomputers and beautiful parcels that Labview provides in Solaris, to keep them happy.
I could come up with these options, which involves my Laview existing (with a few minor changes maybe) code reuse:
    (1) get and older Solaris Labview with application builder, so I can deploy the program for end users... can I get it back? If so, how?
    (2) download a recent version of Linux and test it on Solaris... Since Linux and Unix are so similar, I guess there are little hope on that. Has anyone tried this before? any opinion on this approach (perhaps you are 100% positive, it is worth a try, or 100% positive, this will not work)?
    (3) I have the toolkit of the Internet. Reading (a little) about it, it seems there is a way to 'see' a VI running on a PC via a web browser running on another machine (front only). If this is true, I could potentially run my VI on Windows and have my Windows-allergic users see the plots through a browser. Is this possible? If not, is there something similar I can do?
    (4) my current solution, if none of the above work, would be to deploy a Windows executable (pass them their allergy) and installed it on a remote PC, which can be accessed using VNC. The VI would get (produced in part 1, Solaris) data through the network, a path of UNIX (via FTP or simple mapping of Windows player through a Samba server).
I would appreciate comments about my options, or options/ideas.
    Thank you very much!
PS: currently using Solaris 10 and Labview 8.2 for Windows

    3. the internet Toolbox is not at all necessary. Signs of distance is a feature in LabVIEW. To view web pages, you must install a compatible runtime engine. If you have 7.1 for windows and you can save backup so that you might be able to use this option. You must also 8.0 as it's the only version that you can use to save as a 7.1.

    (3) I want to make sure I understand: I have a PC (for my code) and a Sun (Sparc. For my users) machine. I run the VI on the PC and use a browser on the Sun to see the VI running on the PC. Should I have the runtime on the machine of Sun to allow the browser to see the VI? If this is the case, I have a similar problem as option 1.

Thank you very much for your answer!

Yes, you need the runtime on SPARC. Execution is always available for download. The difference with option 1 is that you would look for a windows version 7.1 and which would be much simpler than to try to find a version of solaris to 7.1.

Another option that might work would be to spend at least 8.6 and you can deploy VIs as long as web services. This does not require a LabVIEW implementation installed on the client. This isn't something that I have experience with, but you might want to pursue this avenue.

  • PDA, USB (Solar Express Card CF) host

Not sure of the interest.  But I tried the new Solar Express Compact Flash USB host card (currently in an IPAQ 210 PDA running WinMobile 6).

It worked like a charm with LabView PDA DAQbase code example and NI USB-6009 case.

I really bought this for use in an accommodation not USB - PDA and will try in an Axim X50v.

For the record the IPAQ 210 has a built-in feature, USB Host but initially good cables were not available, these are now available and the USB-6009 case work with them.  Unfortunately, I could only to work if the route cables through a USB-mini first hub.  This is not necessary with the card see

In the CF and the native IPAQ USB accommodation, no additional power supply is required to run the 6009, although I still have to check the battery consumption.  The solar Express card comes with a cable USB Y-joint, which allows the additional power supply accessory on USB.  The card CF itself, I think, is limited to 200 my draw.

See below links for the solar Express product.

I think it works well for the price of $85.  And seems to work with many older PDA, which is good for the fans and those who, like me, with the 'old' unused who hang out.
