• Sharing Variables defined by the user through projects

  I wonder if it is possible to share Variables defined by the user between projects. What I have in mind, is that I would like to have my user defined Variables configured in a central location and then insert them into my projects as variables bound so that they update automatically when I change their values. For example, I define a variable named ProductVersion , that has the value 9. Then I insert this variable in all my projects as a bound variable. After 2 months the product version changes was 10, so I change the value of the variable at 10 to the place where it is stored and it is automatically updated in all projects. Is it possible somehow? I'm new to RoboHelp and I find no answer. I tried the solution for a while using the product on the Internet without success. I even contacted Adobe Support and they redirect me to this forum I used help and manual before and how they deal with user variables was quite simple.

  Unfortunately RoboHelp does not offer a way to let this, at least, is not directly.

  However, I think I found a way to get there, the variables are stored in a file named rhvariable.apj. So what you could do is to add this file as a file of luggage to each of your projects that will share variables.

  Now, you would create a shared location, but also a new category in your resource manager. This will create a common location to store the file apj.

  Add the file of baggage to the location. Repeat for all the projects that share variables.

  Now, when the variable is changed in any of the project participants, it should be to update the shared location and you can achieve the goal.

  Note, however, that although you'll get what you want, it will be always open each of the participating projects, synchronize the APJ file and generate the output in order to to refresh all. No way, I am aware of escape that.

• Can I get several variables defined by the user in a slide?

  I used the variables defined by the user in the past to collect information on the results of the quiz, as well as for the certificate of quiz.  I would like to re - use variables in a few areas.  in my project, a slide invites you the user name (variable, I created), second will prompt you for the user ID (variable, I created).  I would like a third screen that reads 'Confirm your previous entries', and I want to show him the two variables.  I see only one.  Is it possible to get them both to display?

  I also want to re - use both in the quiz at the end certificate.  If I change the certificate in Flash widget, will be the two variable display?

  This quiz brings to me by email (we have no LMS).

  Any suggestions?

  You reduce the screen shot before you download? You are right. It's barely legible.

  If the variables are inserted into more than a legend, double have you checked the timing? Maybe something is pause the slide before one of the legends has a chance to appear.

• FPGA target 9146 OR editions variable defined by the user to a network

  I am developing code to use on the expansion chassis NI 9146 ethernet with 3 hanging modules, NI 9205, NI 9264 and NI 9476.

  The code is supposed to be downloaded on the chassis as FPGA code and run the code itself and the release of information on the network for the chassis, it is hanging in.  The code is simple (blood pressure measurement and convert them to pressure).

  When the code is on the host pc, it can be run through the target and runs correctly.  The pieces are just have thing chassis user FPGA 1 LED blink a few times per second, convert the voltage in pressure and variable output on the network and read some Boolean variables that are on the network.  All variables are not listed in the network in this way (by pressing the button run an FPGA VI compiled host) by pressing

  When the FPGA VI is downloaded to the flash memory chassis, configured to run once downloaded and restarting the device, the VI FPGA runs, because user FPGA 1 LED flashes on the specifided rate in the code, but variables do not put on the network.

  The FPGA cannot write to the variables by itself.  It is usually used to make a task of high speed.  In order to communicate with a host computer, you will need the code running on the controller that uses screws FPGA Interface.

• Panel of the ADF does not variable defined in the ADF view object.

  I created a group of ADF, which allows the user to run some simple queries against a database of Oracle is using the view objects ADF and ADF view links and ADF application module.
  One of them asks detailed information of research on a database object (Table, view, or other) to dba_objects. SQL uses a parameter (: P_OBJ_NAME) which has a default value of "departments". If I run the ADF application by herself outside the ADF panel module, everything works fine, he invites me to provide a value for the parameter: P_OBJ_NAME.

  The instigation of a parameter is a feature that we have built in the ADF Tester - is not a default behavior that you get in your application when you have just placed a VO on your page.
  To get something like that spend the operations under the VO node in the data control palette and drag the operation "Run with parameters" to your page to drop it as a form of parameter.
  This will give your user name a place to complete the setting, then press a button to run the query.

  Here's a strange. We create a solution of customer using a CompactRIO, and they want remote panels can view and interact with the executable file. That's fine, we are able to create this, but we noticed a thing is:

  If we build and deploy our code in real-time for CompactRIO with all shared Variables associated with a type definition, the executable will not run. Indeed, it is reported by the browser as a broken VI remote Panel utility.

  Breaking the shared link Variable with the type-def and rebuild the executable file, solves the problem. Weird.

  Example that mentions of Nathan is the drive Stepper (9501) .lvproj (material Input and Output"Motion Control" NI SoftMotion"Device Specific" NI 950 x"OR 9501), I would take a peek at this on use of the UDVs.

  Hello, I use the variables defined by the user in Adobe Captivate 9. I am having the users to enter text in a text box entry, then view their entry on another slide. When I test the project the user defined variable displays only partially what I have typed in the text entry box. Someone at - it solutions?

• Variable information from the Captivate .swf 8 integrated and vice versa

  I use 8 Captivate and created a game in Flash with AS3.  I will have NO problem running commands from Captivate embedded Flash file, using the syntax:

  MovieClip (this.parent.root) .rdcmndNextSlide = 1;

  However, whenever I try to import or to export values for the variables defined by the user or even predefined such as cpQuizInfoPointsscored variables, the values do not translate back.  I tried using the same syntax as above to set the value of a variable (for example MovieClip (this.parent.root) .cpQuizInfoPointsscored = 20;).  Similarly, I tried to display the value of a Captivate variable inside the Flash file by setting an equal to the set value Captivate dynamic text field.  In the first case, nothing happens; in the latter case, the text field displays "undefined".

  I have not seen a post about this particular problem.  Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?  Or is that what I try to do possible?

  Look in the category film control: these can be changed (some examples are cpCmndMute, cpCmndCC).

• Passing Variables to A4 Flash user

  Hi all

  I searched online for many times and have made many attempts, using Flash and Captivate 4, but I had NO chance, and I'm challenging my brain on it. It is a big project at work and I really need help I can get.

  I need to access my USER Captivate variable created from a Flash animations. I tried to use Javascript, but I get an error in Flash due to global settings. With thousands of employees, these settings are not an option.

  What I am trying to do is run a random function in AS2 (which works fine) and then pass the result of Flash to Captivate. Each path that I tried (_root. NombrAl, parent. NombrAl, _root.movie.Randomnumber, etc.) did not work and I can't seem to understand what Miss me.

  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

  P.S. I'm still a user AS2 and have not yet learned AS3. I have no longer works in this all day and have not had the chance. I'm sorry.

  If you are looking just to pass a random number in Captivate, then you can use the widget to this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2031010#2031010

  If you try to pass regular values of Flash, then it should be fairly simple as well.

  I just want to be sure - you have a Flash Animation inserted into a Captivate slide and you wan't to have this animation 'send' some data to Captivate right?

  If Yes, then all that should be required is to create a userdefined in Captivate variable - for example v_myVariable. Flash, you use _root.v_myVariable = valueFromFlash.

  This really should be all. You must create the variable defined by the user in Captivate first well. Flash can not it creates for you. You can also try and assign a default value to the variable in Captivate (v_myVariable = 0) while you are sure that the variable of Captivate is reported correctly.

  OK, we have identified a work around that should solve your problem, as suspected, she was reported linked so a redefinition is necessary.

  At the high level of the Page of the page, add the following line so that the label is accessible.

  Then, in the button definition, you can reference the Qt.topLabel in the list.

• Alarming - alarms defined by the user not appearing is not in history

  I use the DSC module to create alarms.  I can successfully configure an alarm for a shared variable.  I use the alarms.vi of reading to read the current alarms.   I am able to recognize and to disappear which removes them from the list.  I also see a history of them when using the "alarm and event Query.vi.  Now, I do the same with user-defined alarms.  I have created alarm using the "user defined Alarm.vi value.  The alarm are displayed in the list (read alarms.vi).  I can acknowledge the alarm and it disappears from the list.  Now when I use the 'alarm & Query.vi' the user defined alarm does not appear in the list.  Only shared variable alarms are displayed.  Is this correct?  Is there a good example of what I'm doing?  The example of "User defined DSC alarms Demo.vi" does not give an example of reading historical alarms defined by the user of the database.

  I removed the DSC module and re-installed which includes SQL Server.  That did the trick.

• Display multiple lines of data collection defined by the user in an e-mail message

  I created a collection defined by the user that displays several lines of data. I created a custom rule and have linked this collection set by the user to this rule and configure an e-mail action. Variable Seveity, I have defined it in the rule to contain the column values. But it will only contain the first line of data. How can I display multiple lines of data in the alarm itself as well as the e-mail? Any help is appreciated.
