iCloud application on disk files

Is it possible the file is iCloud drive be upon request to my MacBook Air, such as Photo files? For example, I move a file to folder in iCloud drive, so this file uploaded to iCloud and delete locally. When you need access to, download back.

If it is not possible, the rumors about this feature?

iCloud does not offer this feature at the moment.

Really, we can't speculate on what might happen in the future, even if we knew.

Which we have not.

  • iCloud, sharing of disk files

    Hello

    I added a few PDF files in my icloud drive folder and try to share them with a group of people. When I'm sharing other types of files in the drive icloud (Pages files for example), there is an option to share a link to the file (which is very useful because I can just copy and paste this link in an email, on a position of social media, etc.). With my PDF files however, I can't find an option to share with a link (that I see only options to send the entire file).

    Does anyone know if there is a way to get a link to a PDF file that is stored in icloud drive?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    Unfortunately not with iCloud drive. You cannot share anything else than the files from Pages/numbers/Keynote of your iCloud drive.

    Google Drive or Dropbox have better sharing options.

  • What happens to iCloud disk files when you reinstall the operating system

    Hello.

    So I thought I use iCloud drive to store files from work because I had to increase 50 GB due to miss the free 5 GB because of photos.

    But my doubt is what happens if my hard drive is going nuts and I install everything... With a new installation, what happens to the files? Download automatically? Or they are deleted on the server (since the new drive iCloud installation folder would be empty)? And can they be backed up with Time Machine? If so, if I get Time machine, it automatically retrieves files from iCloud drive?

    I'm sorry for so many questions, but these are important files.

    Thank you!

  • iCloud do not synchronize files or Photos

    I'm at my wits end here, but my iCloud suddenly stopped grateful files and photos that were supposedly downloaded.  I was synching my library for the last weeks of my iCloud drive.  Yesterday morning, I had 119,33 GB of my 200 GB storage plan available.    I could see in the activity monitor the program 'nsurlsessiond' has been downloaded and when I came home, had loaded 3.8GBs data.   However, my iCloud account showed still 119,33 GB of available storage.

    After turning on, I then photos enabled for synchronization, it usually downloads through the cloudd program.   I left for a few hours, came back and could see about 700 MB downloaded via the web for this program, but the available storage was always showing 119,33 GB available.  When I saw 'Of Photos' through the iCloud on the web, I could see that no pictures had transferred, the projection of number (4455 photo) even as iCloud uploaded a Photo.

    This morning, I tried again and could see that the process Cloudd program had transferred about 400 MB, but my available storage remains to 119,33 GB and still no refreshment in the Photo not transferred to 4455 and just looking at, I can see there is no update of the uploaded photo.    As I type I install Google Drive because it's just pathetic that iCloud just don't seems to work when it is connected to an Apple device, I use 2013 iMac with OS X Yosemite10.10.5 installed.

    Could you please explain more?

    I'm not sure what you mean by that:

    I was synching my library for the last weeks of my iCloud drive.

    Where your photo library is stored?  You mean you want to keep the pictures library on iCloud drive?

    Or is your library of Photos in the pictures folder and you upload to iCloud with iCloud photo library?

    Your photo library must not be in any synchronized storage:

    See the Apple document: updating Photos for OS X - Apple iPhoto support

    If you store your photo library in a place that is part of a Cloud Computing service (for example, Dropbox, box or Google Drive), your library might be damaged by the synchronization process. So, you might lose photos.

    To see your photos on all your devices, you can use iCloud photo library. To back up your library, you can use Time Machine.

    Hi all!

    I've recently updated PS, AI and Acrobat.  I used to have the parameter so that the PS was the default program to open all PDFs. Since the update, it is even more allows PS to be a default eligible opening application for PDF files.

    Everyone running into this issue and is there any known for this resolution?

    I ran all know the updates for Windows and Adobe CC and rebooted several times.

    Please advise!

    Let me guess you have installed Acrobat last.

    In any case, here's what you do:

    Open Control Panel > Control Panel Home > default of programs > set Associations. Select a file type from the list and click the change program.

  • Deleted virtual disk file and data store, just want to boot OS now.

    So I had a VM win7, and I added a virtual disk on a new data store.

    The new drive came out fine on windows as a new drive, and I was able to format etc.

    Now I basically unplugged all the system and booted Linux instead of ESX and ran all over the disk on which was my data store.

    Then I started in vmware and saw that the Windows VM was in a State of 'suspended' and if I try to take it back, he complains the missing disk file.

    "

    Reason: The system cannot find the specified file.
    Cannot open disk ' / vmfs/volumes/504e6c8a-b20d8bfd-1768-001e674dda97/win7/win7_1.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
    VMware ESX can not find the virtual disk "/ vmfs/volumes/504e6c8a-b20d8bfd-1768-001e674dda97/win7/win7_1.vmdk". Check that the path is valid and try again.

    "

    But it does not successfully. I tried to change the settings to remove the ' disk hard 2 "of its devices, but which is disabled since I assume that the virtual machine is suspended."»

    I don't like on the virtual disk or any data on this subject, I have need to be in windows - I want to just start in

    Is it possible to get out of this State without having to remove the entire virtual machine and re - install windows?

    Thank you!

    > and started instead of ESX Linux and ran all over the disk on which was my data store.

    Sorry - that "ran the disk" mean exactly?

    to get rid of the suspended state - delete the VMS, as well as all the VMS file references in the vmx file

  • Unable to shrink the VMDK disk file

    I have a Winxp virtual machine, and it was created with a 40 GB SCSI disk, VMWare has recommended.  I used to transfer all kinds of data to and from it, and I noticed that kept virtual disk file becomes larger.

    The Windows file as well as all my personal files are total about 4.7 GB.  But the VMDK file is not less 21,7 GB...

    After that it shrinks normally did not work, I started the machine virtual in Parted Magic and effectively narrowed the entire NTFS partition up to 5 GB - the other 35 showing as empty space.  But still, I tried shrinking and he defragmentation on 7 times, he didn't budge 21,7 GB.  I even tried to make the option "Get ready to shrink" inside Windows itself, using VMWare Tools, which also did nothing...

    I tried in fact to create a new virtual machine identical with a 5 GB drive, then copy the partition through (I had copied on a flashdrive using CloneZilla) - but for some reason, XP does not start if I do that.  Even to make all stages of repair does not fix.

    So could someone please understand why this file on the disc is so obnoxiously huge for a 4.7 GB VM and how can I reduce the VMDK?  I really need keep the hard drive space and it seems really stupid...

    the other 35 showing as space vacuum

    That's the problem. The process of narrowing in VMware Workstation focuses first on the unused space on the partitions, and then shrink the VMDK file. The free space on the disc does contain not more than one partition, it will not be zero. To resolve this problem, you can temporarily create an additional NTFS partition on unused disk space.

    Difference_35vs41.jpg

    Why is the disk different? could you please clarify what happened?

    Thank you for all your help

    I agree that the 4.1 disc is now provisioned end 8GB has been put into service. The column size is the actual storage size of the disc.

    It's a KB on thin item in service.

  • Files of the FVO, how are the disk file stored?

    The OVF format must be a file format independent of platform for the delivery of virtual machines between virtualization systems different.

    I guess that there is a standard how do has for example the VMX file out of this and to understand how read, but what of the disk to ESXi file? From what I saw there could be a with the OVF *.vmdk file, but how this is handled on another platform of virtualization? (Since I assume also that the flat.vmdk file isn't a total area for the sector of raw disk file?)

    Take a look at the specification at http://www.dmtf.org/sites/default/files/standards/documents/DSP0243_1.1.0.pdf to see if that answers your question.

    5.2 virtual disc formats
    OVF does not require any specific disk format to use, but to conform to this specification of the format of disc must be given by a URI that identifies a unused specification on how to interpret the format of disc. The specification should not be readable by machine, but it must be static and unique for that URI can be used as key by reading an OVF package software to determine only the format of the disc. The specification must provide sufficient information so that a person skilled in the art can correctly interpret the format of disk for reading and writing data to disk. It is recommended that these URIS are resolvable.

    There are also a lot of other links to specific documentation for the OVF format to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Virtualization_Format

  • HOWTO delete a VMDK to a virtual machine without actually deleting the vmdk disk file?

    How to remove a file VMDK to a virtual machine without actually deleting the vmdk disk file?

    Details:

    My perl script, I need to temporarily remove a vmdk to a virtual machine file. However I do not want the vmdk file should be removed from the virtual machine. For example, the gui vsphere provides this option to delete a virtual disk without deleting the virtual disk from the disk files.

    In my script, I use the ReconfigVM_Task to do this. This does the job, but also removes the vmdk file. How can ensure me that the vmdk file will not delete the disk?

    The code snippet is something are:

    My $devspec = VirtualDeviceConfigSpec-> new)

    device = > $device,

    #device to delete above:

    operation = > VirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation-> new ('remove'));

    Push (@$ devspec_list, $devspec);

    My $config_spec = VirtualMachineConfigSpec-> new)

    deviceChange = > $devspec_list

    );

    my $task = $template_view-> ReconfigVM_Task (spec = > $config_spec);

    would really appreciate your help
