Icon screen call for blackBerry Smartphones

On a BB "BOLD" in the upper right corner of the screen during a call, there is a box with 5 "+" in diagonal direction (top left to lower-right) on the screen.»»  What is this icon?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Are you referring to the dark blue box with what looks like stairs?

This is the icon of its equalization for the call, if you switch to speaker it disappears correct?

Thank you

Turn, if the judgment is not set to zero. After you have deleted them do you have a guest on resetting the device? If this is not the case, reset the unit by removing the battery for 30 seconds.

JSanders meant that once you are in the Application, click the menu button, and then click Modules.

Regarding the removal of the old email account, check on your carrier's BIS website to see if the account is still there. If so, remove it. If no control on the device under Options | Advanced options | Maintenance book. If you see any references to your old email account, delete them

I downloaded the app store icon, it says that the download was successful.  When I click the icon, it is said! Eception exception: java.lang.Error.  What's wrong??  What does that mean?  All my other applications work.

Agreed... Although FWIW it's called AppWorld...:

    I propose this sequence:

    (1) AppWorld remove your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications)-if she prays that you restart the BB to do.

    (2) a Batt Pull restart as described above.

    (3) get a new link and install a new copy of AppWorld

    • Yet once, if he asks to restart, do.

    (4) restart another Batt-sweater

    (5) see if it works now.

    See you soon!

  • Call for blackBerry Smartphones using a mic "BOLD"

I work on the radio and we have an FJ-500 FlipJack.  I can plug a microphone cord into a mobile phone and use a microphone that is transformed to a live broadcast.

My helmet "BOLD" can be set to cancel the phone's microphone and use the audio input from the Mic?

I found a solution... Get a cord with plug of appropriate size to enter your unit and get an addapter with 3 insulators on it come off the other end.  Plug in the headphone jack and you can place a call, and you a hand held mic to talk in interviews or live broadcasts or something else...  Success.  Take it for what it's worth to you.

  • Call failed blackBerry Smartphone icon won't go away

    Hello

I just bought a blackberry off ebay (after millions of problems with my iPhone!) and I'm having a few problems...

First of all, when I turned it on there was no txt, or the sound icon message icon. I browsed this site and followed the advice to remove the battery to restart and that seems to have done the trick. However, someone called me and now I have a call missed the top of the screen icon. I can't find a way to access to see who called me and to make it disappear.

My second problem is that I am unable to use the Setup Wizard to configure my email account (this is a gmail account). I was wondering which would be because I'm currently on a rate of the iPhone with O2? Should I change my rate for a rate of blackberry in order to implement my mails and surf the net?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Try following the steps in this post to clear the missed call icon

Yes you need a BlackBerry data Plan, not the IPhone plan to set up e-mail accounts and browse the internet

  • Screen problem touchscreen blackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Storm2 9550

    Hello!

I am a Sri Lanakan. Last week, I bought a Blackberry Storm2 9550 used, eBay (from a seller of e. u.). All the functions work fine except the touch screen. Can press on the touchscreen. (edges and around the screen) But he get caught suddenly, and also when am pressing an icon, phone highlights another icon. (as axample, when am pressing contacts in the home screen, phone highlights two contacts and sms). As I suppose, at this time there the phone detects it as multi touch and so I can't support what either. When am reset (battery pull) the phone, it solves the issue for a few minutes or hours, subsequently faced the same question.

I tried to fix it by putting a piece of paper to the battery cavity, but nothing has changed.

My storm is an unlocked phone (Comes to Verizon, but later unblocked), which is running version 5 software. ...... . 713 fact in Mexico 5.

I want also to the last update available for my phone and how to update.

You have other ideas on my problem touch screen? This is the main question, I want to solve as soon as possible. Do I need to fix it with a spacialist? Is it a hardware failure or a software? He solved by upgrading my version of software or restore to the factory settings.

None of these remedies could work. Without practice, it is impossible for me to know anything 100%. The best advice I can give you is to upgrade your operating system to the latest version (. 1015). It could very well be that, as a device, it was damaged by the previous owner and it will never work for you. As I say, it is impossible to tell at this distance-internet.

    madhava909 wrote:

What is the meaning of the hard reset? It is equal to pull the battery?

In my opinion, Yes, but there are others in the world who think differently. The best reference is the official:

    • KB02141 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone

Most of us who have dealt with this for awhile understand that power should be turned on when you pull the battery.

Once again, it's impossible to say at this internet distance.

Hereby, I have attached an image. Please answer those as well.

The first (top right) is the GPS indicator... I do not exactly remember what icon the way that... I suggest that get you the the user guide for your BB from here:

The other appears only if your carrier has eliminated an update wireless for you. You say that it is the "best way" for you... I would add that this is the MOST DANGEROUS way. You see, via this method update, on the device of data backup is taken, that is rendered after the update (the update effectively wipe everything). This backup is a file use 1... If something is wrong in the upgrade process, all your data is lost forever. The update method that I gave you is the best method that 1) it tells you first take a manual backup and 2) the process itself will also take another backup... and both of these backup files are stored on your PC and can later serve as a source of food since they are not 1-use files.

    madhava909 wrote:
Pls send me a link if you can, to download the latest update.

You have already the link... it's in the instructions I have given to perform the update... This is the portal of official download for all carriers. Simply, you browse to the carrier of your choice and download their bundle of BONES for your model number.

  • Support for blackBerry Smartphones Q5 India

    Hi, (question could be repeated)
Before you buy BlackBerry, I knew that its market is not as varied as android, but to my great disappointment I couldn't find apps 'base' which should have a smartphone. I need a free application map or navigation and to my great disappointment that BlackBerry maps does not work in India, in addition to that google don't provide maps for BlackBerry.
Please tell me is there any map application can attest to BlackBerry? Would be happy to install in my machine.
    Thank you

No, as I said, they are available in Android apps which you call is able to run for the right amount of.
You will need to get them on an Android App store, there is a good app called Snap specially written to help with this...

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • Locks of software upgrade for blackBerry Smartphones

I had problems with my touch screen not working not.  After searching online it was suggested that the software might require the upgrade so I downloaded it.

Now, my phone got lock up to 16% of the backup is complete.  I can't at this point that every time I turn the phone on it get to the same point and stop.  The battery hold a charge then over heating and I have to turn off the phone and remove the battery.

Now, I get very frustrated that I cannot do anything with my phone!  Help, please!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

As a new user of BB I'll have a little difficulty. For one when I plugged the BB into computer he finds not the SD card. Then I saw here where he says something on the homepage options, but I cannot find the options. Any help would be appreciated.

On the BlackBerry, go to Options | Media card (or you can have settings |) Options). Or if you have only 5 icons on the main screen, press the menu button to access all of the icons screen.

Recommended media settings are the following:

    Media card support: WE
    Encryption mode: NO
    Mass storage support: WE
Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected: YES

With these settings, try to connect the BlackBerry to your computer.

  • My torch for blackBerry Smartphones became a brick? Help.

I have an AT & T 9800 I unlocked and use on T-Mobile and last week Thursday July 7, I've updated being two Xobni address book applications, the other was Twitter for BlackBerry v2.0.0.16. When my flashlight restarted after downloading the two apps screen basically everything went black and the red light was then the phone started to reboot again from the beginning. I don't have a day to the new os 6.0.0.600 so I know not who has nothing to do with it, but it's weird that on the eve of this os was released my torch has stopped working. I tried to pull the battery on a million times and leave for a day, then try to start it, now I've been leaving the phone plugged into a power source and just running and constently through the restart process, but never turn on completely.

I've tried everything I can think of and I tried to erase the device through my BlackBerry Protect using my BlackBerry ID application, but it can not connect to my device. I can't seem to get hold of someone at AT & T who can help me, anyone know any options at all for this problem. Thank you.

Mark, I'm sorry to hear about your device problems!

First of all, let's see if we can get your BONES removed from the device by using an application called BBSAK, you can get here.  That que telecharger download on your PC, then plug your device and launch the app BBSAK.  I hope that BBSAK will recognize your device and we will be able to erase the OS so you can recharge.

If it does not, this method, although a bit outdated, has been used successfully many times.  Takes some patience, but it works.
