Icons for Smartphones blackBerry torch

Hey everybody,

Does anyoneknow which means that the yellow globe on the homepage of the torch?  Nothing is in the manuals and can not find any entry in google in general.

Thank you

MandiC

It's a push browser message or a WAP push message (I can't remember which).

From your home screen, open your Messages folder, press the menu key and select display folder.  Open the message Browser and WAP Push Messages files.  You should find your message in one of these folders.

Let us know if that helps you.

    Hello

The third you speak without a name is "mail". Depending on the settings of your BB, you can have your emails from all accounts appear in there, as well as SMS and MMS messages. When you have added your two emails, he created folders separated for them, but they may still appear in the main "Messages" folder, if you have not changed the settings of this.

Here are the instructions on how to change these settings (in the manual):

    Hide application messages key messages

You can prevent specific messages from e-mail accounts in the main messages application. You can also set a separate icon on the home screen for SMS text messages and MMS messages. Depending on your theme, a separate icon can appear by default.

    1. In the home screen, click the Messages icon.
    2. Press the Menu key.
    3. Click on Options.
    4. Click on the Inbox settings.
      • To hide specific messages of email accounts in the email accounts section, clear the check box next to one or more e-mail accounts.
      • To hide text SMS messages and MMS messages in Other message Types section, clear the TEXT box.
    5. Press the Menu key.
    6. Click Save.

Take a look at this article on the search for messages not open on your BlackBerry: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB21879

If no message, do you have a database of corrupted Messages. Follow this link to clear the database: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10167

For the last couple days, my torch 9850 has been emptying faster than usual. The drainage rate was about 4.31% per hour. Unfortunately today, I was with my flashlight to take a photo when I watched the battery indicator drain about 80% of yellow to the red outline with the flashing led in under 2 minutes. The phone also randomly off followed by a solid red led, followed by 2 red blinks. Since this morning, I put a good known in battery. He killed that, in about 15 minutes. The only third party application that I have is The Weather Channel. The only application running is phone, SMS, email and contacts. I reloaded the software the first time that drain you.

    Hello!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Torch 9800 WiFi problems

Just bought a 'unlocked' Torch 9800 from Amazon.  We are having a problem with the game facing upwards.  The WiFi signal is detected by the device, but we cannot send or receive e-mails.  When you log on to the browser, we can not go to the line, as it is said that it has turned on WiFi but not coverage.  I have contacted my provider "Three" and they say that, to their end, everything looks good to go.  My previous phone is a Curve 9300 that works very well, I'll have to use my old phone and it is send and receive e-mails very well with good coverage.  The abandonment of the cover guard torch its all very frustrating.

We arrived at the conclusion that the problem is the phone itself, it has not been unlocked properly or we are missing something in the game upward.  If someone had a similar problem or you can shed some light on what we can hurt?

Hello and welcome to the community!

If you can use on the 9800, phone services via 3, then it's unlocked properly... but you can check here:

Any BB can be used on any carrier that is running the same radio frequencies that the BB is capable of (and I have no idea if your in are such). But, to bring you a BB on a carrier network that they don't sell, there are several obstacles to overcome:

    (1) the carrier must say 'yes' to the fact... they are owners of their network and have every right to say what devices will be allowed to connect to it. If they say 'no', then it's the end of it.

    (2) you must be sure that your BB is properly unlocked since its origin manufactured for carrier... see this thread useful for more details:

    (3) you must get all of your voices works on the carrier, before you even try anything on data level services

    (4) you must be a subscriber of the carrier, a plan of sufficient data to enable BB exclusive services that you wish to

5 (a) if the carrier directly supports your specific model BB, then you can proceed to the registration of the BB on their network, generating adequate for your BB service book delivery and treatment of the function. Since you didn't say that 3 you are on, I can't check to see if they support the 9800 or not... we do it, the other does not. But you can post via the official download portal:

If your carrier lists the 9800 in their portal, then they take over the it and you should be good to use it on their network.

5 (b) but, if the carrier does not directly your BB-specific model number, then the challenges are much more that most of the carrier's systems will deliver, for BB, the service books required to enable BB exclusive data services, even if you have subscribed to them.

So, based on this, your BB may or may not ever any function on this carrier network. It can be quite difficult to achieve, especially if 5 b applies. Then take a look at this and decide how you want to move forward. Most people end up just buying a new BB if 5b applies.

If 5A applies, then I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you must keep workign with your mobile service provider as is their network with which your BB is unable to communicate, and only they can look "behind the scenes", as well as degenerating into RIM if necessary.

Good luck and let us know!

    Hello uday808,

Welcome to the BlackBerry support community.

To fix the reboot you encounter on your BlackBerry Torch 9800, backup and perform a charge or upgrade your BlackBerry Device Software. For more information on this procedure, see the following article:

SUP! The 9860 is the most defective bb model ever. 1stly, his port of loading is easily damaged. I had fixed it twice, and the 3rd time it does not work... It was released with the charger.

After having reinserted, emerges a new frustrating problem. The display is backwards and flipped (mirrored)-it is supposed to be a common problem with this unit and still there is no right solution or reason to explain why this has happened.

  • Applications for Smartphones blackBerry does not download with the bb app world

I just got a new bb bold 9780. I get errors when I try to download apps. I've deleted and reinstalled world app bb twice, and that did not help. I am able to look for apps and click Download, then I get a series of errors:

    1. sometimes it is just about starting to download for hours/days

2 legal, I get an error that says: this application not available for download on the bb app world (I even got this error when you try to download an update for the bb app world! lol)

    3. sometimes, I get an error message saying cannot connect to the bb app world, please check your connection

My connection is good, as I can browse the internet without problem. There isn't any app problem individual because I have tried several apps.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    So, I found the solution!

Basically it seems to be a problem in the world of bbapp. I know that I was using the right email and password I used several times to download new applications. This combination is no longer works somehow. To solve the problem simply:

Sign up for a new world bbapp ID!

That's all! You will need to use a new email address, so it's annoying, but it works.

    It's a very simple solution!

The old e-mail/password combination is in no. man s land. Can't explain this part. Also, I can't explain why it didn't come with an error when I enter the password it is not working. It shows that I have registered, it just does not allow me to download anyting.

In any case, can't complain too much because it's Aussie a simple solution.

    good luck to all!

If you don't know how to register for a new BBappworld ID do the following:

    -Click on the bbappworld icon

-Select the icon of my world

-Click on the button of menu while in my world

    -Select disconnect

-Select the icon for my new world

-Scroll down to create a BlackBerry ID.

    That's all!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Torch 9850 shut off and really slow

A couple of days my blackberry torch 9850 cut randomly during the day and since then has been so slow to (I timed it) 45 seconds to open an e-mail message. I tried to take out the battery, I have reset several times and I'm working on the reinstallation of the operating system.

I read a lot of forums and most places say I should do an OS reinstall all the few months because IT IS a FEATURE OF this PHONE! ??? Is there a difficulty standing for this or I have to go back to my android?

most of the time the OS is stable enough, it may be a few improvements to a new OS with an old app causeing it.

On device, go to Options, device, application management is a great way to see what your applications with your use of the CPU on #Torch. Simply drag bar greater than CPU and see what happens. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I discovered that an application has been eroding CPU cycles on my own

  • Smartphones blackBerry torch no longer has a sim chip, service cancelled with at t, to delete the e-mail settings, use the torch by wi - fi

Due to a protracted dispute with at & t, I don't have my blackberry torch 9800 on the provider and the sim chip disappeared. Simple problem, because I want to have some uses of the torch limited by wi - fi and that don't work - I want to remove all references to the gmail and BIS email icons that I used to use on the torch. Apparently, nothing is active now that will allow me to do anything with any of the e-mail accounts that used to be active on the torch. Anyone have any ideas?

Press the search icon in the upper right area of your home screen.  Type 'Book of Service' and select the options icon that appears.  Tap on "Service book.  Delete the [CMIME] GMail and Gmail [CICAL] service book.

  • Error 'Message truncated due to size' for Smartphones blackBerry - Curve 9360

I have a weird problem with my Curve 9360 which began this morning and I'm at the end of my mind on this one.

INSTALLATION: I have email set up on my curve 3 addresses:

    • an address of BES (MS Exchange) for my work (works very well!),
    • a GMail account (works fine), and
    • an e-mail address POP3 my Internet/capable/TV service provider, advanced cable communications (that problem).

PROBLEM: all addresses worked well until this morning when all electronic messages in my email POP3 address showed the same message ""Message truncated due to size" regardless of whether the email was large or small (no email has been more 500Ko) or if the message had a piece attached or not. "

I tried my GMail and MS Exchange accounts, and they work fine.

DIFFICULTY ATTEMPTED: firstly, I out the battery and reinserted it. It does not work.

Second, I removed the account, rebooted my curve and then reinstalled the account. It does not work.

Third, I've deleted the book of service associated with the email account, rebooted and re-registers the curve on the network. Which doesn't work anymore.

Any email message that I receive on this address still shows the same error.

I don't know what else to do at this point.  I did not any changes to the parameters of the curve.

Any help on this curious problem will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

... it is a known rim issue and they are working to fix it.

There is nothing you can do on your side... (other than calling your mobile operator and have the recorded problem and see if they give you ETA).

  • Installation of blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Torch Email problems

    Hello

I recently changed my password to my Hotmail account. BlackBerry then sent me a message inviting me to change the password in my email from my Blackberry Torch configuration section.

When I went in the Configuration section of the--> e-mail--> e-mail account accounts Internet, my flashlight prompted me to upgrade to the latest version of the configuration of the e-mail application. I clicked 'OK' and then he asked me if I wanted to download it now. I clicked 'yes '.

The download began, but then frozen (and I did not on the network or WIFI ranges). The BB Torch then invited a message saying that he was unable to download the application.

I tried to get back inside, and whenever I need to click on "Internet mail account", he would do nothing then tried (for testing purposes) to account to the company, and he would go in the section.

So I tried a soft reboot. It didn't fix it. Then I tried a hard reboot, it also didn't fix it.

    What can I do?

    Help, please.

    Thank you.
