ID CS4 save as... in wrong folders

Since the upgrade to CS4, when I open a file and save as... a new version (for example, v2), it saves now default to the last folder I saved any file ID in. Why would I want to save FileOne.indd v2 in a random, everything FileSeven.indd project folder simply because the last file I saved was FileSeven.indd?

It allows to save to the folder that the file is already underway, and that's what I prefer. Is it possible to force the old behavior of CS3?

I think that this only happens with older files you convert, and as soon as they are the docs CS4 a backup like you always leads to the location from which the file was opened.

I tried to play with the preference of location to repeat, thinking that the towing can also be connected, but there doesn't seem to be.

  • Upgrade to MACos Sierra now all my 'saved' go to the wrong folders

I was wondering if someone else has upgraded to the beta version of MacOS Sierra. Now, when I save a file, it goes in the wrong folder.

For example if I have a folder with the 6 files in there:

    Folder 1

    Folder 2

    Folder 3

    Folder 4

    Folder 5

    Folder 6

And I chose to save it in the folder 4. When I go into the folder 4 it isn't here, but if I look in other files, he sometimes recorded on file 2, sometimes 6 file is in the right area, just in the right folder.

    Anyone experience anything like this?

  • Cannot save files in shared folders

    Hello

I'm under VM Fusion on Leopard with a Windows XP Machine.  I am able to browse and open files on the disk to my Mac using the shared folders drive.  However when I come to save all the changes I get an error saying that the file could not be saved. I tried save the file locally and then copy the file across Explorer and I get an access denied error.

This turns out to be a good pain and am now having to resort using a USB drive to copy the files through the, which is quite tedious

Has anyone encountered this problem?  I have now upgraded to the latest version of VM Fusion 2, but this has not yet resolved the problem

    Any help would be welcome

    See you soon

  • Illustrator CS4 "Save as PDF" Glitch

I use illustrator adobe CS4 on mac OS X 10.6.5 snow lepord

Whenever I have a file I or any type of file and want to use the option "save under", when I select illustrator PDF completely freezes. I have to force quit and then restart to resume work.

My work around was to save as a file, open the file in adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and "save under" PDF through this program. It works every time. But the option "save under" PDF in illustrator crashes whenever I use it.

Does anyone else have this problem?

What model Mac? How much RAM? How much free space on your drive to work?

    You can also try this

    1. quit Illustrator.
    2. go to user/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe illustrator CS4 Settings and parameters, the entire record of the trash not only the contents of the folder...
    3. launch Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  • Confusion of settings CS4 save for Web GIF

    Hello

I work on a new Web site and a problem I can't solve: my navigation links are made using a GIF file and for some reason, the background color GIF is not matching the background color of the page.

    The test page is here:

    http://www.johnblaustein.com/WebTest2/

Please note that nothing in the page does not work yet.  If you look closely, you'll see that the image of navigation is a slightly different color than the background.  Very slight, but different.  (Once I fix this color, I'll do each link in a separate with slices button.)

In PS, I created a file like this: new file (72 dpi), fill with the same color that I use on the Web page: c4c0b4.  Create new layer and add the type.  The new file is in Adobe RGB, but I convert to sRGB before saving for the web (although I don't think that counts).  When I save for the Web, I started with the default GIF settings, but when I got the color shift, I tried any number of other parameters.  I read a post here which suggests to disable the background of the image layer before saving to the Web, but which resulted in the text looking for bad.  I tried different colors (32, 128), masts settings and other parameters settings with no luck.  Convert to sRBG is always checked.

I like to solve these things on my own, but I've struck out on this one.  I'm here in the hope that one of you gurus can tell me what I am doing wrong.

    Thank you very much.

    John

I'm over my head about it.  The only thing I noticed is that you're ad

For me the conversion means always compromises are made.

  • Illustrator CS4 save delay

  • Photoshop CS4 "Save" by default, how to change?

I could not find out how to change the default value to 'save' in PS cs4.  If I open a photo, make adjustments by using different layers, then run 'save' it records in Tiff format.  I choose "Save as" and make your choice, regardless of the format, but 'save' in a 'save' original Tiff format by default  At one point I was saving by default a psd file and a day it changed on me... I don't know if I have inadvertently done something or no, but I would like to change it back.  If it makes any difference, I opened most of my photos in LR2.  I have looked through the section help and discussions here, but couldn't find an answer.  Note: If I do a "save under" first, no longer working on the photo and then run the command "Save", it will then record in any format that has been chosen in the initial report "save under" action.  Thank you.

I had this problem too. It is part of the LR2 preferences... In the "External Editting" preferences tab LR2 specifies what CS4 format must use. Think it has changed automatically when I upgraded from LR2.3 to LR2.4 I changed back now.

  • Illustrator CS4 save vector art for Microsoft Word

I have a logo created in Illustrator CS4. I saved the file for use in Microsoft Office using the 'save for Office", export as a .wmf and even save vector art in Photoshop as a .png. I can get a variety of formats to work well into Word documents.

That is the problem. Finally, the Word document will be saved in PDF format. When the file is saved as a PDF (from Word), the color changes in the PDF file. How can I fix this? I tried to record the changes in the modes of rgb and cmyk colors, but the color when it hits Acrobat prints differently than the Word. It drives me crazy and I can't understand it.

    Thanks for any help!

    Mary

I do this often enough and export to Illustrator in .wmf format. I get the necessary transparent background, no problem of pixel, and the graphics are crisp. Clip art from Microsoft Office is about all .wmf formatted, so I thought that it would be compatibility problems and there is no. This is perhaps an approach that will work easily for you.

  • Photoshop CS4 - save - program error

Yesterday I installed on my Macbook with os x 10.5.5 CS4 first generation

I have a jpg file that when opened in Photoshop can not be saved. When I save as jpg or psd, I get the following error:

"Could not complete your request because of a program error"

Open an existing psd, creation of a PSD file, or even open other jpg I am able to save with errors.

It almost seems as if there is something on this a jpg that doesn't like Photoshop.

    All this experience?

    Greg,

Ouch! It is not surprising that you have problems with your configuration.

    * First of all, you are using an outdated version of the operating system very buggy. Update 10.5.6 as soon as possible. It's a free update.

    * You desperately need more RAM. Try running Leopard and CS4 on a paltry of 2 GB of RAM is ridiculous. Max machine with the RAM out.

    * Ideally, your Photoshop scratch disk should be on a physically separate internal hard drive. My drive to work is on an internal drive of 160 GB dedicated, others more great readers of scratch. To have the OS swap files and disks of Photoshop work in competition for the use of a single set of read/write bad request heads on your boot volume.

    * With only 64 GB of space available on a drive 233 GB, you have reached the limits of security for any player soon. Any time, any player gets to 80% full, you're in trouble. You're almost there taking into account the drive working and swap files.

    * Lastly, get a real font manager. Apple font book is not robust enough. Duplicate fonts are as bad as the damaged fonts. FAP (FontAgent Pro) is good enough to flush out the bad fonts, and they have a fully functional trial version of 30 days.

  • [CS4] save on a local file without user intervention

    Hey,... Sorry for my English...

I'm working with another application that need to have information written in the local file without user intervention
    so...

I would like to know if it is possible to write or rewrite on a local file without user intervention.
whitout '"Save dialog" or with a managed save dialog... '.

How to write to a local file without user intervention.

I really need an answer to my project...

    Thans for your conpréhension

If you want to do this, you will need to use a server technology.

Even if Adobe has added the ability to read and write from the local file system for Player10, you can it work WITH the users permission. This means that the user has to make the transfer by pressing a button and selecting a file to open, or a place to record in. No auto-save files.

You can "circumvent" it by building an AIR application. AIR applications are installed on the users computer, and installing the user gives you permission to write on their drive. Only you will be able to write invisibly in specific folders (those that your application uses directly), but you will be able to write something invisibly.

    Hello

    1. are you using Word, if so what version?

I suggest you to refer to this link:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/107686

The only other suggestion is also to try to see if there is a previous version of the document and see if they have auto save switched on.

    It will be useful.

  • How can I get the Photo screen saver to use sub folders?

In XP, it would display all the photos on the hard drive, or if I chose "My pictures" he would use all the photos in this main folder, as well as all photos in sub folders. With Win7 I can't get to use the photos in a specific folder. IIRC, in XP, you can even select the files to include and exclude?

My HD is partitioned and I use C: for OS and programs and D: for docs, FYI.

It's working now. I have a click with the right button on the D: drive, wriggling on "Include in the library" and clicked on "Images". Not positive this is what fixed it, because I'm not sure how to UN - include it in the Library A - b test. But as long as it works...
