  I have a Lenovo idea Pad S10 and I love it.  Its a great little machine.  I would like to make one or two questions please.  Can on put a larger hard drive and how much memory is the maximum.  I currently have 2 GB of memory.

  Also, I tried to do my income tax using it - I uses Taxcut and tried to install it on and the machine said he couldn't make Taxcut.  I suppose that the system is not big enough to cope.  If true that I very well because I have a desktop computer, but I was just wondering if we can get a bigger hard drive and if it would make a difference.

  So I typed a good post and clicked on the post, and it happens with no text. Large. This time I'll type a shorter message.

  I bought a Y460P. I tried to upgrade the Intel 1000 wifi with an Intel 6200 card. I got the error BIOS is not a supported adapter. I found that you need to get special cards because of the whitelist of the BIOS. I found a nice chart someone had posted here for Y560P. What I would like, it is a place to buy compatible parts on the lenovo site, or a place where I can look this information for my Y460P. It is very nice that someone can put a chart in the thread for me, but I would like to be able to find information on the support site for myself, like in a service manual or something.

  This is not possible because it is like by designed. If customers want to use a different wlan on a laptop card, therefore at their own risk for flashing their bios with a production instead of the official version.

  HI there at - there anyone who can help?

  I really hope you can help me with some problems I encounter when using the S10.

  The problems encountered are:

  (1) recently the lappy will hang aftr start windows, the mouse doesn't even pressing Cnrt Alt Delete. I'll need to force the closure of the lappy...

  (2) but the lappy works well when there is no internet connection, I suspect that the lappy hung while auto connect to available network connection.

  (3) I have also crossed the system event log and there are errors in the search for a DHCP, DCOM service and ipod.  m going to uninstall Itunes because I heard that itunes will crash the system (is this true?).

  It will be much appreciated if you could help me because I think that this is not a very big problem to send it for repair...

  If Windows hangs or strange behavior, I usually work in the following order:

  1 let Windows check disk (chkdsk) and fix the errors, if any.

  2 be sure that Windows is updated.

  2. let an online virus scanner to check everything.

  If this does not resolve the problem:

  4. save the files important network or external drive.

  5. restoration of the computer of the last reliable recognized Acronis image backup.

  Maybe it's time to save important files and do a factory restore of Windows?

  iTunes and QuickTime is putting a lot of load on any little netbook, especially if you have a large music library and sync podcasts and videos - install only if you need it, just like any other app. iTunes worked flawlessly when I tested a few months before.

  Do you mean the chipset drivers? It's always a good rule not be upgraded if there is no compelling reason to do so. It is quite possible to have a wonderful system and create problems by changing things that do not need to be changed.

  For those who REALLY want to update all THE drivers at the last and largest, I strongly advise to create images of the hard drive, which will act as a time machine. In this way, if there is a serious problem, restore the image will take you back to a point in time before the problematic upgrade has occurred.
  Personally, I updated drivers.

  SM Bus is part of the Chipset, so you will need to install the Intel Chipset driver that is available on the Intel Web site. Or you can use the driver for another model of Toshiba chip, such as the Satellite P200.

  PCI memory controller is map of Robson I think. It is not compatible with XP, so just disable it in Device Manager.

• Keyboard and touch pad stopped working on Satellite L750

  My laptop L750 keyboard and touch pad stopped working on start up. I now use a USB mouse and on-screen keyboard to do anything either. I have tried several things to fix, but nothing seems to work.

  I've updated keyboard drivers, tried related work key, updated and run antivirus software and restored to a point in time before the show. Still no luck.

  Any ideas?

  The SATA driver belongs to a display driver. Therefore, download the display driver and extract the files. The driver files that you need you can find in the SBDrv\SATA directory

  You can use these files to create your own installation with these drivers disc using nLite, but make sure the XP disc contains at least SP2 or SP3 better.

• Tecra M5 - new installation of XP SP3 - no sound

  I performed a clean installation of XP SP3 on a Tecra M5, downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba support site, installed in order (according to the install.txt) and that all work sound bar.

  I tried the two drivers available on the download site, both give the same result - windows is pleased and says everything works fine, but still no sound. I tried the (mute) key and its appears under the name now. Volume (on windows) is complete with all other controls. All controls are NOT dumb. I also tried the handwheel of volume at the two extremes, still no sound.

  I looked on the internet and found other users having problems with the sigmatel and XP SP3 drivers. But have not been able to find the right ones for this model. The machine is a Tecra M5 (PTM50E).

  Yes. Remove SP3 and use SP2 supported. I checked the facilities list for this model of laptop and on the first place is classified - Windows XP Professional SP2 ServicePack2.

  I don't know that the drivers on the Toshiba download page are the same drivers as in the recovery image. This means that they are probably not tested with SP3. To be honest, I always use SP2 and I'm happy with it.
